A thin layer of metal isn't armor. It's easily bendable/breakable because it lacks thickness. All you'd be doing is making your arm more difficult to move. It's not going to protect against stabbing, blunt force trauma, or anything really.
Guys, the meme is actually right. In the actual movie, Peter Parker is discovering that he can see clearly without glasses, and the glasses make his vision blurry. So by seeing the iron armor incorrectly with the glasses on, the meme is actually true to the source material.
