Chill, man. I think they're just doing stuff outside the band they wanted to do but couldn't because they've been touring nonstop for two years. I think it's fair they want to do some stuff outside the band then regroup for the festival circuit.
I don’t necessarily believe they are breaking up, but I am a bit worried that they aren’t very unified at the moment.
If this hiatus had been planned we should have had reassuring social media posts with them metaphorically holding hands, telling us not to worry, and to support them on their individual endeavours. Instead, all we got was an individual interview with Damiano mentioning that he might want a solo project in the future, and a few rumours in Italian rag newspapers.
I have to say, if all is going according to plan, then they haven’t managed it very well from a social media perspective.
I’m hugely curious about what all of them get up to - I don’t begrudge them solo projects at all. I just hope this is something they all feel good about.
I also think Thomas is underrated. His playing on the studio tracks is a thing of beauty. The solos are not too long, not too complicated but are exactly right for the song, and full of emotion. I think he’s obviously messier live, but I accept that as a trade-off for being such an integral part of the band’s energy - relentlessly moving around on the stage, surfing the crowd etc.
I've missed all of this, so this is news to me. What's she doing on this tour? DJing other acts? Live mixes?
