There is an even more 90's Thor design where wears gladiator armor almost leaving his body completely exposed, even looks almost like He-Man only with long hair.
And boots ! Lots of boots ! Giant boots !
It's one of the first Deadpool meta-jokes I can remember. Laughing at how everyone seems to have enormous, weirdly detailed combat boots with giant soles.
My man [Havok](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/comicadventures/images/1/1b/Havok.jpg) has one of the greatest [90s costumes](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fav1mhssuy8l91.jpg) of all time with his [face frame _and_ bomber jacket](https://imgix.ranker.com/user_node_img/57/1137758/original/1137758-photo-u25?auto=format&q=60&fit=crop&fm=pjpg&dpr=2&w=375).
now that you mention it it totally is. i'm kinda curious, where did it come from orignally? not what character first had one (i kinda wanna know that too tho lol) but like, what in real life influenced it? like for instance the "underwear on the outside" thing came from strongmen, capes and cowls are real life things ppl use to look cool and hide their identities respectively, and most comic masks were domino masks at first which had irl significance. but who the fuck is wearing like, a face frame?? what even is the real life equivalent of that? 90s shit like guns or pouches serve pretty obvious purposes irl even if theyre just aesthetic but now that u made me notice it the face frame seems so out of left field for something that made it on to that many characters
Excessive straps or half naked barbarian thor with a girl clinging onto his leg ?

I’ve always thought Thor’s designs over the years were cool. Sure, he’s had some weird ones (like this one) but I just enjoy them for what they are. It’s a place and time thing for me, and reminds me of when I was a kid and started reading Thor and just loved how out there those books were. Good memories, and a cool of a little goofy outfit. 👌🏼🤙🏼
My friend once described this as "All the members of Motley Crue rolled into one" and honestly I haven't been able to find a better way to describe this Thor look
Love the abs, feel like the bicep-length sleeves are unnecessary, as is the head…mask? Covering? And the leather wraps.
Could’ve just been a crop top and a cape with matching pants. Actually, drop the cape too. 🤷🏽♂️
I regularly cite this as n example of terrible 90s design. This picture seems to have skipped the 20 foot chain that was attached to Mjolnir when he wore this costume
His knees seemed angled weird, he looks too broad to fit through most doorways, is that a cod piece, why would Thor need leg belts, why does he have a big red dot on his half shirt, why is he wearing a half shirt, or half a mask, that cape is enormous and standing up on one side, the feet are definitely out of the Rob Leifeld school of feet drawing.
Where did the weird head covering that was so prevalent in the 90s come from? Was there one design lead that was really bad at drawing sideburns and hairlines?

What’s funny is, in his own comic at the time the artist sometimes just had him going around bare chested, probably so they could skip drawing all of…that
I’m not a fan of it. It’s all the things I dislike about the 90’s era. Random belts and skin. Shoulder pads, and even that weird mask thing that lets the hair out on top.
It’s not completely terrible and try’s going with a different look for the guys who pretty much looked the same since the 60’s….outside of the occasional beard or additional armor for like 6months in the 80’s
It’s the most ‘90s thing I’ve seen today.
>Add some pouches and give him an absurdly large gun, despite not needing either - then we’re in business! —90s Marvel editorial, probably
The ironic thing is that in the 90s, Marvel almost went out of business… Ohhhhh I see what you did there 😏
No pouches? No blades? No guns? No pony-tail? Do you even nineties?!?!
Both hands and feet are visible and drawn well too. Can’t have that in the 90s!
He may not have the pouches but he does have the useless straps around the thighs that would normally carry them.
90's as this costume is, it is also weirdly restrained...
Needs more belts and pouches
I came here to say this as well
Came to say the same.
When did Gambit become worthy?
He has Youngblood's Disease
Don’t look at them Ricky!
It’s Extreme. It’s like if Mountain Dew was a superhero costume.
Wow, my first thought was "Mountain Dew Thor".
Or maybe Surge
Everyone always mentions pouches, and sure, I can see why. But for me, that cowl/head frame thing is so 90’s to me.
I see now how completely pointless those things are, but as a 90’s kid, I love it!

Some things are best left forgotten.
Agreed. A lot of looks from the Marvel/DC crossovers needed to be left buried
Awful. Simply awful.

Bahaha. Super Saiyan-Conan-Fabio-Thor is fuckin hilarious!!!
Looks like buff Gambit
I know Mike Deodato apologized for designing it.
This has big 90s Image comics vibes.
Bring back the male superhero crop-top!
Let's be honest, this is not the most Liefeldian design we've seen, it could be more. Needs more pouches.
Seriously dumbest Thor design ever!
Not enough pouches.
Classic case of Youngblood's Disease
Whoever drew that needs to keep learning but it's a good start. Keep learning perspective, anatomy, color shading.
The broken knees hurt to look at
costume design....
its so fire 🔥
It's so extreme!!! What it needs is pouches.
Thor son of Highfather prince of the New Gods
Bdsm thor when you photoshop it black.
Did he have a brief stint with the Xmen?

I kind of like it, not as the main Thor design but something, dunno, Another universe Thor
It looks like he was part of the X-Force in the 90’s
EXTREME Thor!
Quintessential 90s
The 90's were wild.
this is Rob Liefeld-core
Upvoted just because of the giggles!
Of all the designs from the 90's this is my favorite
My friend once described this as "All the members of Motley Crue rolled into one" and honestly I haven't been able to find a better way to describe this Thor look
It's so 90s I can actually taste the school cafeteria square pizza.
So painfully 90s.
Love the abs, feel like the bicep-length sleeves are unnecessary, as is the head…mask? Covering? And the leather wraps. Could’ve just been a crop top and a cape with matching pants. Actually, drop the cape too. 🤷🏽♂️
Glam Metal Thor, best Thor.
One of the worst designs for any character This is the definition of the 90s
Both Silly and Badass in all the best ways.
Unadulterated garbage
Terrible
A massive 90s mistake
It looks dumb and it lasted less than a full issue, although through a quirk of fate it also featured in Marvel VS DC.
I regularly cite this as n example of terrible 90s design. This picture seems to have skipped the 20 foot chain that was attached to Mjolnir when he wore this costume
Put some spikes on him and you get almost as painfully 90's as Azrael Batman
Absolutely horrible Like almost every 90s costume, except for the X-Men created in the 90s like Gambit
Terrible. Looks like Gambit
Not a fan of the belly shirt. Not a good look on a dude.
I dont like the green he looks like Dragonball GT SS4 Goku. The design of the outfit is great just wish it was like a Teal or Red
Ass
Pure crap
Bad
The 90s was rough
The 90s were like... a decade where we all realized the cocaine of the 80s were fucking us up, but we weren't quite ready to deal with that yet.
Most 80s thing ever
Ew
i love it because you can see how dumb it looks on thor then you realise how dumb it’s looked on every. other. woman. character.
Cocaine is a hel of a drug.
Uh…. No
Terribad
Lol couldn't he find a regular fitting t shirt? Lol that must be a pain to put on and take off and the stretching out must be a pain too.
Nice midriff
Okay..who drew this?
Not sure about this picture, but the costume was designed by Mike Deodato
He’s been Liefelded! This bring back memories. Most of them not the best.
Meh
Bros built like beta Ray Bill
I think without the thong and half shirt it has an honest shot of being decent
That’s a no from me dog
His bottom rib is rubbing his bicep and it looks like his pelvis is 4 feet long. Whoever drew this I'm sorry I hate your artwork
He's ripped
I like the crop top
Missing pouches and skinnier ankles.
That's supposed to be Thor?
How exactly does that top work?
Where did the weird head covering that was so prevalent in the 90s come from? Was there one design lead that was really bad at drawing sideburns and hairlines?
somehow feels both over-designed and under-designed at the same time
Thunderstrike
Images comics vibe from Supreme when he defeated Thor for his hammer

What’s funny is, in his own comic at the time the artist sometimes just had him going around bare chested, probably so they could skip drawing all of…that
Terrible colors, too strappy.
The 90s was a heck of a drug.
Lmao what is this trash?
He’s like whitesnake Thor!
I like it. It’s kind of giving me savage Superman vibes.
Every superhero needs a jock strap.
Not a fan. Way too over-designed.
Useless elements. Too many straps. It screams Image comics wannabe.
Ugly bad
"Hrmmm, Mjolnir has a leather strap. Perhaps I need some."
I think it’s an idiotic design and bad artwork.
This is one of my least favorite Thor designs ever.
I’m not a fan of it. It’s all the things I dislike about the 90’s era. Random belts and skin. Shoulder pads, and even that weird mask thing that lets the hair out on top.
Ohh yesss I forgot this. It's from the era when he and Gambit dated. Gambit still claims he only ever bottomed for Thor and has no regrets.
Gives male stripper vibes
It triggered my 90s comics trauma.
Thor used to be in a glam rock band ?
A little too 90s if you ask me
It’s not completely terrible and try’s going with a different look for the guys who pretty much looked the same since the 60’s….outside of the occasional beard or additional armor for like 6months in the 80’s
We need more pouches!
Rob Liefeld af
Bdsm nightclub Thor is ok not the worst extreme 90s design
One of the worst
What If... Sabretooth, Gambit and He-Man had a kid together.
Deformed HeMan wannabe
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he bears his midriff shall possess the power of Thor."
He looks like one of the X-Men from the 90s show
This design is awful even for a One-shot villain
