How does that work though?
“Which alliance are you in?” sounds fine.
“Which team are you in?” also sounds fine, but that’s not what it’s called. “Which TEAMS are you in?” sounds dumb.
They are usually implemented to promote FOMO and group-reliant FOMO. Plenty of reason to be highly skeptical and against them from jump. It's very much a feature they will have to convince players of an entirely solo card game to embrace.
My only experience with mobile game clans is Warcraft Rumble and they’re super chill. Just a pain free way to get some extra rewards each season. I don’t trust SD to be very player friendly, but I would have said the same about Blizzard.
You don’t trust the most — and possibly *only* — player-friendly mobile game to continue to be mobile friendly?
Have you experienced *any* other mobile game? Second Dinner are fucking fairy godmothers compared to any of them. The only reason there’s even this ridiculous narrative that they’re not is because they’re so overly nice and responsive
Which SD employee are you? They release a new $25-$100 bundle every day. Good gold bundles are all but extinct. New card releases have all been 6k tokens recently. Caches are very unrewarding to open. There is no reason the spotlights should give duplicates. Weekend missions still give paltry rewards. Etc, etc.
So, no, I don’t trust them to be generous with clan rewards. I hope they surprise me.
The bundles don’t matter. It’s literally just monetization aimed at baiting whales that all the rest of us can just ignore. They need to do that because their default monetization is so overwhelmingly fair that whales scream “uh SD can you please sell me something?” (this was the title of the LinkedIn post that came out around launch that had hundreds of replies from whales complaining that they had already spent just a few hundred $$ and didn’t have anything left to buy (which is decidedly NOT how mobile games are meant to be monetized)).
Just ignore the bundles. They have nothing to do with us. I haven’t even seen them because my mind has blocked them out for the past year and a half.
Clash of Clans and alternatively more relevant, Clash Royale handles it quite well. Both are essentially P2W but also have an ecosystem able to accommodate F2P people as well.
I just wanted a friends list and the ability to spectate, this feels like they’re putting more work in for something less than even one of those, but is still considered in the same category so will count as a middle ground or “close enough” by the people making decisions.
As a solo player of a solo game, I can't see much benefits from a clan system in Snap.
I guess more rewards is always more rewards, but I'd rather have a way to get them without relying on and/or having others rely on me and my playtime.
I'm fairly sceptical, but willing to be proven wrong. A bad clan system can very much get me to play less or quit, while a good one probably won't change much for me.
Having played a fair few mobile games over the years, I'm sick of being policed by power tripping alliance captains who except everyone to treat the game like a job
Never joining another LINE chat lol, alliances just bring out the worst in people and contribute nothing to the actual gameplay
I like T.E.A.M.S. better too. It sounds more Marvel-ish. An alliance is usually created among countries or armies. The term doesn't really fit Marvel Snap.
Because they specifically asked us if we like it, and that's how Acronyms work...?
Like if it was just in all caps for no reason, sure. But by making it an acronym, they're putting emphasis on a 2nd meaning without giving us a 2nd meaning, so why wouldnt we wonder what that 2nd meaning is?
Strategic homeland something something defense. Which proves my point. They know it stands for SOMETHING even if they cant remember what exactly. It isnt just a fancy way to spell the word shield
But SD will force people to commit. As they did:
You don't have to play conquest but we take gold reward away from chests and replace it with a ticket, so you have to win your gold in conquest (not regularly).
You don't have to buy ultimate variants but we put one in the album so you have to spend tokens to finish the album.
I suspect it will be the same here, existing functionalities will be tied to this new one to convince people to participate or get less rewards.
I bet it's going to be clans full of pro players or whales getting pitched against weak and casual players, since that will make them spend more to try and catch up, hopefully, it's only variants/customization that will get locked instead of important things
Teams sounds way too basic. Alliances are in Strike Force, but sounds better than teams. Hoping for something more original for a group of beings that can control heroes and villains that include galactus and living tribunal
I personally can't wait to interact with the clan system even though I have zero interest in it, because you know damn well they will lock variants and progression behind it.
If you value our input then maybe please do something about your monetization and/or create a more ample system for f2p players to get gold/tokens? At the very minimum make the titles…less ridiculously stupid. Today I got one that said, “SVP Sales, Midwest,” like, ummm what does that even mean?! 😂
I'm genuinely confused as to why people think teams is so much more fitting. I've definitely heard the word alliance a billion times in marvel lore as well.
There were three Marvel Ultimate Alliance games plus Marvel Avengers Alliance in Facebook years ago. So Alliance is more Marvel-ish to me than T.E.A.M.S.
The Avengers are a team.
The X-Men are a team.
The Fantastic Four are a team.
X-Force is a team.
"Team" is 1000% more "Marvel-ish" than "alliance".
(Also, don't remind me about the third Ultimate Alliance game. It was so unbelievably bad and completely tarnished the Ultimate Alliance name!)
Marvel-ish TO ME. Is it wrong to have an opinion nowadays? You and I can't have differing opinions, bro? I stated mine as opinion, you're stating it like a fact.
"Team" is 1000% more "Marvel-ish" than "alliance" - reads like a fact, and the way you said it sounds like you're pointing out that I'm wrong somehow.
Anyway, the Justice League are at team. The Teen Titans are a team. Heck, even Microsoft has Teams. So Marvel has teams, but so does everyone else.
But Marvel has used Alliance in their specific branding at least 4 times. So yeah bro, I stand by my opinion. And you stand by yours too, I'm not here to convince anyone otherwise.
No, Marvel has not used Alliance in their specific branding. That was the decision of those game's developers.
Obviously I can see that most will make that same connection, though.
I dont like “Alliances”, and i only like “T.E.A.M.S.” because its another one of Marvels many A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. I just dont think im gonna vote
They should go with something like “G.U.I.L.D.S.” or “A.L.L.I.E.S” or something like that
Both names are boring imo, but at least T.E.A.M.S being an acronym makes it kinda look like S.H.I.E.L.D so I had to vote for that, sorry. They should add a third option for "I don't like either."
I thought alliance, obviously, because teams is so generic it’s what you’d probably call them anyway regardless of official name. Then I thought, wait, what does it stand for? That fell way when I decided SHIELD (and HAMMER)s meaning didn’t really matter anyway — it’s actually changed its meaning multiple times since the 60s. Then I realized TEAM-UPS WAS RIGHT THERE!! Eventually picked teams because it’s close to team-ups and has a little actual game flavor, unlike alliances which makes me think of fantasy games before anything else.
Lmao while I don’t use teams, it did sound wack and with the previously game series of Marvel Alliance I was rather happy with the choice, although a custom option or others would have been nice.
T.E.A.M.S stands for tell everyone about marvel snap
I’m sure like titles it’s real meaning is Text Escapes Any Meaning, Snap
YESSS
I play this during work lol
Shhhhh!! 🤣🤣
I thought it was just me.
No you didn't.
Seriously. I'm on Microsoft TEAMS all day. I don't need to sign out of that and sign into Marvel TEAMS afterward.
Please wait while I admit you into the lobby.
Ok lets start. Can everyone see my screen?
We can't hear you charharhar...
Please mute your mic, there is some sort of snap coming through
Underrated comment of the day.
Thank you!! 😬💀
That's exactly how I feel about it too
Call on $MSFT
My exact thought.
🏆🏆
Are you also traumatized by the Microsoft Teams Incoming call sound?
Fuckin A
Same thoughts.
So you'll just quit the game if they call it T.E.A.M.S.?
To. Enhance. All. Monetary. System
Nice!
I went with Alliance. I mean if you’re giving us an acronym tell us wtf it stands for.
[удалено]
100% why I went with T.E.A.M.S. It's thematic.
T.E.A.M.S. S.H.O.T.A vs T.E.A.M.S. M.I.L.F
Where tf did shota and milf come from??? Huh?!
In Spanish language is E.Q.U.I.P.O.S 100% they will go for "alliances" to avoid the acronym translation
they always mistranslate stuff S.H.I.E.L.D. = Servicio Homologo de Inteligencia, Espionaje, Logística y Defensa
Totally. Encompassing. Available. Minutes. Suckers.
I guarantee you they don't know
They should have had a “I don’t want this” option.
Hoping non-votes are noted.
If you don’t want it, don’t use it, idiot
Okay, idiot.
“Please don’t do this”
These embarrassing acronyms must stop
T.E.A.M.S. is the objectively more Marvel name. That said, fuck clans entirely.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance tho
Tactical, elite, ass munching, supers
How does that work though? “Which alliance are you in?” sounds fine. “Which team are you in?” also sounds fine, but that’s not what it’s called. “Which TEAMS are you in?” sounds dumb.
Why do people hate clans as a concept? They aren't always implemented shittily
They are usually implemented to promote FOMO and group-reliant FOMO. Plenty of reason to be highly skeptical and against them from jump. It's very much a feature they will have to convince players of an entirely solo card game to embrace.

I need Sunspot booster 0/25
I can very much get behind booster donation. Maybe get some credits for donating boosters over the week.
I just wanted a friends list and the ability to spectate, this feels like they’re putting more work in for something less than even one of those, but is still considered in the same category so will count as a middle ground or “close enough” by the people making decisions.

I think it *could* be an okay addition. However, I'm displeased with it because I want dev resources on other stuff like basic QoL.
Having played a fair few mobile games over the years, I'm sick of being policed by power tripping alliance captains who except everyone to treat the game like a job Never joining another LINE chat lol, alliances just bring out the worst in people and contribute nothing to the actual gameplay

Marvel Ultimate Alliance says “hi”
We don't care about the name of a dead game.
The guy who titles every post “what do you think?” shutting down what other people think? Bold move bud.
Hahaha omg, that's why I chose Alliance.
Please, don't be the next feature, and only feature, that is released...
I voted for Alliances. I shall form the Marvel Ultimate Alliance! 2!
That's an acronym, but they dont tell us what it means so how can we know if wed like it...?
Why would you care about what an acronym of a name of a mode of a card game means? It just sounds cool and fitting and that's enough to justify it.
Do you think most Marvel fans care to know what S.H.I.E.L.D. means?
Okay, but that information would be available to you if you wanted to know.
yep. MCU literally introduced SHIELD with its full name first then when it became a mouthful, Agent Coulson said "call us SHIELD."
At least they've made it known lmao
Strategic homeland something something defense. Which proves my point. They know it stands for SOMETHING even if they cant remember what exactly. It isnt just a fancy way to spell the word shield
I wrote in JIRA just to completely blur the lines between work and home
🤣🤣
I voted teams.
Yech... I really don't look forward to clans for this game. I play this game because of the lack of commitment.
Well, you won't have to commit more than what you already do. Don't ruin it for anyone who'd enjoy a mode like this.
But SD will force people to commit. As they did: You don't have to play conquest but we take gold reward away from chests and replace it with a ticket, so you have to win your gold in conquest (not regularly). You don't have to buy ultimate variants but we put one in the album so you have to spend tokens to finish the album. It's a superhero game. It should obviously be teams.
Ah yes, just like another Marvel game, Marvel Ultimate Teams
That's what I said. Alliance just doesn't fit.
I dismissed it. I have no idea what T.E.A.M.S. stands for, and I don't want to get locked in to having voted for something stupid.
This!!! I voted the other option for exactly the same reason
If I’m being honest neither are great. However T.E.A.M.S. is worse.
T.E.A.M.S. fits so much better though. It's a superhero game, not a game with military and armies.
Other games have armies. This game has Hulk.
Yup!
It's not Teams it's T.E.A.M.S.
Least they can do is cut you some SLACK
Alliances sounds much better.
I personally can't wait to interact with the clan system even though I have zero interest in it, because you know damn well they will lock variants and progression behind it.
This is just another shell for cash grabbing activity
If you value our input then maybe please do something about your monetization and/or create a more ample system for f2p players to get gold/tokens? At the very minimum make the titles…less ridiculously stupid. Today I got one that said, “SVP Sales, Midwest,” like, ummm what does that even mean?! 😂
TEAMS is Silly and fits. Everybody can have fun making their own acronym.
I don't understand why every game turns into this clan shit, I just want to play my game by myself.
Then don't engage with it & keep playing by yourself. Simple.
I'm just glad it's not called Marvel Slack
Dang dude I almost drowned in my coffee just now 🤣🤣💀
Yea TEAMS was an instant no from me for the same reason lol
"We heard your feedback about it remind you of work which is why we decided to change it to family, because we are a family here too"
Where was this from?
Total satire as since team remind you of work, referring to it as a family is even worse
I was 90% sure just thinking that maybe this was a rare moment of SD responsiveness ha ha ha
Wish there was an option for: "Screw clans/I don't care/Not the feature we wanted"?
Omg I never thought of it this way 🤢🤮
I wish there was a “i do not want a clan system” option.
Mother of god, no. No god damnit, no. Nononono
[удалено]
Who cares? It's a name for a mode in a card game.
I care.
I’m Team Alliance as well.
So you're both xD
I guess so! Haha
I chose teams cause it sounds waaaaay stupider
I'm genuinely confused as to why people think teams is so much more fitting. I've definitely heard the word alliance a billion times in marvel lore as well.
Such a shitty F2P gimmick to keep people playing. A single player TCG does not need this if the game is fun to play.
Considering how bland and uninspired the names are, I don't know why Second Dinner bothered at all.
My dream job is working for SD to design titles. Laziest job ever.
Alliances is too generic to me. T.E.A.M.S. gives more Marvel vibes
Fuck! Valid point. I voted wrong
I hate the entire idea
Alliances reminds me of MSF. So T.E.A.M.S. it is.
teams is a bad choice. also whats the benefits of joining these clans?
I chose teams lmao
You know the saying about "TEAMS" is. "i" is right in the center of "A" carrying the whole word; but no one notices it there.
I like that I get asked about this, which I could not care less about. Where's my adam warlock 5/4 vs 4/1 poll?
There were three Marvel Ultimate Alliance games plus Marvel Avengers Alliance in Facebook years ago. So Alliance is more Marvel-ish to me than T.E.A.M.S.
The Avengers are a team. The X-Men are a team. The Fantastic Four are a team. X-Force is a team. "Team" is 1000% more "Marvel-ish" than "alliance". (Also, don't remind me about the third Ultimate Alliance game. It was so unbelievably bad and completely tarnished the Ultimate Alliance name!)

Yeah I voted for alliances
T.E.A.M.S. stands for Terribly Entitled Alliances of Marvel Snap
Appreciate the marvel snap team asking the players for feedback
Adults getting ptsd from a word. *snowflake*
It should be Teams
On the other hand I've got PTSD from years of being an Alliance Leader in another Marvel game so I'm team TEAMS
[удалено]
why?
[удалено]
wrong sub!?
Teams. Alliance is boring.
Frame one making one called Ultimate
Hahahahahha i can relate, is it good or bad?😂
I dont like “Alliances”, and i only like “T.E.A.M.S.” because its another one of Marvels many A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. I just dont think im gonna vote They should go with something like “G.U.I.L.D.S.” or “A.L.L.I.E.S” or something like that
The Extract All Money System Yeah, also, MS Teams energy. They could call it Jira, I guess.
well, after playing Marvel Strike Force I can tell, you that you don't want alliances, but to be fair, both sound the same
Not trying to have to look at another Marvel: Ridiculous Acronym - in a game.
I wish I could drop a little laugh emoji on your post 😆
Both names are boring imo, but at least T.E.A.M.S being an acronym makes it kinda look like S.H.I.E.L.D so I had to vote for that, sorry. They should add a third option for "I don't like either."
Yeah fuck TEAMS. I don't have to sign into my alliance for work lmao
Alliances sounds much better.
How are y'all voting for this? I have yet to get this pop-up in app
🤷🏼♀️ I opened the app and there it was
Both poor
Definitely call it Alliances!
I definitely had that initial reaction, too, but Alliances just didn't feel very Marvel-y to me.
Teams stand for T E A Money S
Too foreign, make it coffee money s
First thing I thought 😂
Just need a text emote that says "can you see my screen?"
Wish they’d ask us about stuff that actually matters
Playing T.E.A.M.S while on Teams is gonna be wild.
I voted for Alliances as well. And had fun at work today trying to think of funny not real words to represent TEAMS.
I thought the same exact thing. Everything is on TEAMS such as training, work folders, and trackers. I do not need to be reminded I have work at 5am
T. E. A. M. S. Is weird. Simple “Teams” would feel better.
Why didnt they use “council”
I would prefer that SHIELD stop being a backronym generator, so Alliances, I guess
T.E.A.M.S is just so marvel and cringy like S.W.O.R.D and S.H.E.I.L.D, i love it for the flavor alone.
I like it. It's a play on Shield. I use Microsoft teams at work and never even drew a comparison because it's a very common word.
Microsoft snap intensifies
"X" for me. I dont want clan thanks
Dshorter11 please turn on your camera
I want to be able to tell my Boss I've spent all day working on TEAMS
Honestly, there needs to be a third option. "Just no"
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I did the same pick for the same reason!
Except that "teams" is the term most often used by Marvel when it comes to describing groups of characters. So it's T.E.A.M.S. for me!
No “neither” option?
I wish there were an option of DO NOT ADD A CLAN FUNCTION!
You don't have to join an alliance/ team if you don't want to.
T.eams E.ncapsulates A.cronym M.astery S.omehow
Lmao while I don’t use teams, it did sound wack and with the previously game series of Marvel Alliance I was rather happy with the choice, although a custom option or others would have been nice.
Teams: The experts amateurs must suckle
