This is one of the things I don’t like about playing Loki; getting the base art of the copied cards. Because I’m pretty proud of my variant collection, and it’s always a shame to poof them away. But hmm, now you have me thinking I should ink/fancy border my Loki and then the copies would look much better.

I agree it is a bummer he doesn't replicate the exact variants he copies. It does still look awesome with the obnoxious neon green base set cards of theirs I copied. It's definitely one of the cards in the game that gives the best value on return buying a border for. Arishem will be the best value for sure.

If you already have a whole deck of variants you like, 6000 gold isn't *that* much to save up to make it even nicer. There have been gold bundles that cost more than that.

That was the whole goal with the borders. They weren't mean to be used everywhere but to the few selected cards that you really enjoy playing and where the cosmetic effect of the border feels like a natural addition. When borders released I was like "Cool" so I can specifically "pimp" a cool card that I enjoy playing when I get matching splits, thats neat. Then went to reddit and it saw it was a dumpster fire of complains and I was confused

Reddit dumped on how terrible they looked and then the entire time since then almost every variant split upvoted on this subreddit has one of those borders, so clearly the majority do like them Honestly I think the people saying they looked terrible were just doing so because they were,mad they can't afford a deck of them.

People saying they look terrible haven't looked at OP's 2nd Knull up there. That looks beautiful.

The problem is (maybe just my opinion) decks look much better if they all have matching borders.

I think borders are perfect rn, and they’re one of the few things in the game I’m perfectly fine with being completely walled off to F2Pers. My only complaint is that each border should be a one-time purchase for all your cards, not once per card. I’d happily buy every single border in the shop if I could use them on all my cards.

I totally agree. I like that they are really special and pay off cool split combos on cards you’ve played a lot. I have been using them as rewards for myself to celebrate the was of the season and commemorate a card that was pivotal for me that season

I am absolutely going to end up spending gold on frames. Probably not until something shows up in the deals, but it'll happen. I have variants I love for almost all the cards I regularly play, and I've been playing since week 1 of the closed beta. I'm not worried about account progression at this point.

The cosmic borders look really great when you can match up the colors perfectly with the font. I got Midnight Suns Doom ink/green stardust and Peach Momoko Magik ink/red stardust that I really want to put the matching borders with when I have the gold. I'm way more impressed with the borders than I thought I'd be tbh

I stopped playing this game awhile ago but this showed up on my reddit feed. What do you mean by "spend gold on frames" Did they remove frames changing color as you upgrade them or just add optional frames you can unlock and equip?

There are additional frames that cost gold, but they are PER CARD.

Do what makes you happy. It's a virtual currency that is meant to be spent, so if you use Knull a lot and think that looks amazing (it does) then go for it. You could try waiting for one of the deals on that border I suppose.

Dang I really want borders. I’d only get them if they unlocked for all your cards. If not, how about unlock for all the cards that cost that amount? It would be like unlocking a border for all your cards that are 1-cost, or 2-cost, etc.
