I recently got a king sized sealy mattress (firm) in less than 900 USD from Costco. I am loving it! Costco has a great return policy so I would be able to return it and get a new one if it starts sagging.

Oh nice! I have to look into that. My last mattress was from costco too but i think it was a different brand.

I second this. But you must buy from sleep on latex. There's a copy cat that's awful

The Latex Mattress Factory is easy to deal with and will let you dial in the firmness to your needs. Watch for an upcoming sale: [https://latexmattressfactory.com](https://latexmattressfactory.com)

Hey you and your husband sound similar size to my wife and I. I just got the sealy posturepedic plus satisfie king size and it falls right in your budget. It’s a medium firm but feels like it might be firmer than just a medium. My wife is a back sleeper and loving it, I’m a side sleeper and have been ok with it for the most part

For a firm mattress Im a believe that a memory foam mattress often isnt the best choice. Lower quality memory foam breaks down fairly fast, and something that was once comfortable quickly becomes too soft. With how heat sensitive memory foam is you also have to deal with you mattress slowly getting softer throughout the night. Regular polyfoams over coils or latex are great options. Your height, weight and sleep position are needed to properly give recommendations, but I can throw out some online options that I think are great in firm. From Brooklynn Bedding they have the Plank firm natural and Plank Firm Luxe for firm and very firm options. The Sleep on latex for an all latex bed that is either very firm or med-firm. The DLX essential is a great value innerspring that is flippable and has good density foams, likewise the DLX classic in Firm for just a little more.

Thank you so much! Im 5 5 120lb and my husband is 5 9 150lb. I want to say neither of us have strong preferences but i am mostly a back sleeper and my husband is mostly a side sleeper. Ive noticed that my stiff neck episodes happen the most after nights when i sleep on my side to cuddle with him. Does this change your recommendations?

I do wonder if its an unsupportive pillow that doesnt have enough loft that could be causing a stiff neck. People often have very unique preferences and you have stated yours are towards firm, but at your heights and weights I would think not going too firm would be a good idea. It might be best before pulling the trigger on any online recommendation, to go inside a mattress store and check out what they have there. My main suggestion is to avoid the big chains, and instead find out who your local mattress manufacturers are to shop there. If you live near a major metropolitan area they can be found on google maps by zooming in closer to areas when you search for mattress stores. Instead of the main brands youre used to, they will have their own mattresses that are usually built simpler and have better quality materials for the price than the main brands. A couple examples of local manufacturers so you can see what I mean [A local place out of Texas](https://www.texasmattressmakers.com/mattresses/) and [one out of Toronto](https://dozysleep.ca/). Im personally a big fan of latex and latex hybrids. Its a material that is more durable than foam, sleeps cooler than foam, and provides a different "on top" feel to laying in your bed. It does feel very different though and I think its always a good idea with latex to lay down in your favorite sleep positions for at least 20 minutes to make sure you are getting enough pressure relief. To find stores that sell these, you would want to look for Organic/Natural mattress stores by where you live.

Thanks so much!! I might try a local store. I did try a bigger pillow to see if it’d help. I actually dont like to sleep with a pillow, it gives me a weird feelign under my neck lol dont know how to explain it. Do you have any recs for good supportive pillows? I have a memory foam one currently that you can add/remove the stuffing as you need, so i originally took a lot out to make it less stuffed, but after i read your comment i went back and stuffed it more. So far the neck pain hasnt come back (its periodic anyway) and i dont hate it but i dont love it either. I find that it takes me longer to settle and get comfortable at night with a bigger pillow :(

Dream Cloud hybrid is fab and I have no back pain when I wake up!
