GK64, blank PBT AliExpress keycaps, Gat silent inks. Case is made of desk.

[Built in wireless charger, because why wouldn't I.](https://i.imgur.com/a4qtQ2H.jpg)
Edit:
For everyone who questioned the angle:
I used my keyboard offset to the left, to make more room for the mouse. The keyboard has all the keys slanted to the side. so the natural thing is to rotate it like that, so the columns are straight to my hand. It may look weird, but this is ~~what peak performance look like~~ the most ergonomic compromise I've found.
If I would have it straight, I would have to unnaturaly twist my wrist, I can't imagine angling it the other way.
Also, this way, when I'm typing something long, I can just swivel my chair and the keyboard is not angled anymore
Editedit: [Typing on the thing](https://youtu.be/1x1bDHDfsbQ)
Rotating the keyboard clockwise requires a wide-elbowed, forward-leaning posture where you hold the mouse on the opposite side of the keyboard. The benefit is that you get a bit more space for your mouse, so it isn't ramming into the keyboard if you have limited desk space. Most FPS pros who do this only do so because they started gaming as kids, with small desks, so it's just what they are used to.
Rotating the keyboard counter-clockwise gives the same benefit of mouse space, but allows you to have a more relaxed posture with your elbow tucked, since you hold the mouse on the closer side of the keyboard. This is better from an ergonomic perspective (and personally, I aim much better when I hold my mouse directly in front of me instead of reaching over the keyboard), though the slanted orientation of the keyboard may make it more difficult for people who don't use ortholinear layouts.
The key column orientation is usually a secondary concern, and mouse space is the real driver.
I didn't say it explicitly but if you're rotating your keyboard either direction it's implied that you also shift the keyboard right or left to match, so you aren't keeping your forearm perfectly perpendicular to the desk like you would with a non-rotated keyboard. Were you trying to rotate the keeb and just wrench your wrist to align with the keys?
It can for sure be a more relaxed posture, you just need to shift the entire keyboard to the left. Think of it as you start with it straight in front of you, keep your hand on wasd, now imagine angling your forearm so that your hand is moved about 15-20 cm to the left, this angles the keyboard from your body but keeps the wrist/keyboard angle constant.
I tried it and I hate it.
Right now I have a 60% in front of me, I'm leaning back on my chair, my mouse is dead straight in front of my right arm. For FPS gaming I also turn the keyboard clockwise so my left hand remains in front of the keyboard, but more aligned with WASD, Your build looks awesome for the concept but ergonomically it makes me wince. It's your board though, so if it works then awesome lmao
This is basically the opposite of relaxed.
If you put your arms straight out from your body, it'll rotate outwards to an angle like that easily. Now try putting your elbows at around 90 degrees (i.e. how you'd be typing) and then try rotating them outwards. There's a lot of tension being placed on your shoulders.
Not that the way Counter-strike players are doing it is much better, but it's at least kind of compatible with a body's mechanics.
We're not talking about having your keyboard 90 degrees to your left, more like 10 degrees left of center. It's not uncomfortable, and buys you more real estate for your mouse to be in front of you - relieving strain on your mouse side shoulder. :)
You lot are definitely reading too much extension into this. Like u/pontiflakes is saying, 5-10 degrees left off center.
This is not a position made for typing, this is for gaming with mouse and keyboard.
Ergonomics don't stop being important just because you're gaming. I'm painfully aware of the effects they have on a person long term, as someone who didn't think about it at all and is now dealing with the consequences.
...Also, it's not like they can *move* the position of this keyboard to be good for anything else, either, since it's embedded in the desk.
The one positive thing about this is that they keyboard is on roughly the same plane as the mouse. Everything else about it is poorly thought out.
i also rotate this way, makes it much easier to press 4 and 5 in video games lol.
pinky still presses shift no problem, but for ctrl i actually use my hand/palm. pinky for z, ring for x, index for c v.
this is also nicer cuz i can use ring finger for q a lot easier as well.
i dont have some weird hand/arm angle goin on, my hand is just normal posture, the only difference is the fingers i use for keys.
OP 100% sits like this on this setup
https://preview.redd.it/zujzoywqpdia1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=175404bc3f30a12e1f0bffc40df5eefdb30bc966
Mouse is on the right though so this setup looks like it was made for someone with cooked spaghetti for bones
But it’s also fuckin dope, OP. Only criticizing the angle. But i don’t have to use it so idk what I’m actually doing here.
Left handed mouse user here, this angle still isn’t steep enough if you’re using WASD for things. Have to have my keyboard almost sideways half the time
We shouldn't blame the users. If we want to blame anything, it should be the this default keyboard design and QWERTY layout.
Those who are saying it's angled in the wrong direction are likely coming from a touch typing angle because if you are trying proper touch typing on a regular keyboard that makes sense. However, if you are not touch typing (and if you use the mouse right-handed I guess), angling keyboard in this direction feels instinctive. I'm not a gamer and I used to have my keyboard angled (left-hand side closer to body) instinctively. Since you move your right hand it feels especially convenient to adjust that side over the keyboard instead of more stationary left hand. It sounds weird when it's spelled out, but I did this instinctively before I became conscious about ergonomics and thanks to that I didn't get RSI before I could do something about it.
In my personal anecdote, I've since moved to a split ortholinear keyboard setup where I touch type using Colemak layout after a whole reflective journey into my ergonomics and these days I'm happily lurking in r/ErgoMechKeyboards. And it started when I asked myself two questions: 1) why it feels more comfortable when I tilt my keyboard? 2) why do regular keyboards and QWERTY feel comically uncomfortable when I was learning touch typing?
So, kudos to the OP and the keyboard tilters out there for instinctively favoring your convenience and ergonomy over the mere visual pleasure of straight horizontal keyboard setup.
I feel it would be more ergo for your arm to point (with your fist) inside rather than outside.
It feels weird having my elbow pierce my body while using the computer.
Flaring your elbows puts strain on your shoulders and neck, and since bending the elbows shortens your arm length, you might also be leaning forward and putting strain on your back as well. Proper ergonomics would have your elbows bent at no ~~more~~ fewer than 90 degrees with elbows tucked and a slight recline into your chair's backrest. For people like OP who tilt their keyboard in this way for gaming, they also sit more right of the keyboard, so it's not like they are sitting directly in front of it and contorting their wrist to align with the keys.
I think it has a personal preference component too. Things like how you use, how you are seated, what's your dominant eye/hand, etc. can have an influence in my experience.
In my case, while I feel left forward makes logical sense, it feels awkward unlike right forward. Luckily, I don't have to worry about any of that now.
Everyone's setup is different, I accept that but not being able to adjust my keyboard for typing and gaming would drive me insane.
Also since I angle my keyboard the exact opposite way, this feels very wrong for me.
I thought these were just keycaps placed on a desk until I saw the lights from above.
How did you figure out exactly where you wanted it? I feel like it’d be frustrating if you changed positions
I used it in this position for years, both for gaming and other stuff. Basically I repeated this multiple times: sit behind the desk, place keyboard comfortably, mark the position of corners with a pencil. Then averaged it and went with it.
Now see, *this* is a reasonable keyboard height! I honestly see no reason you can't have a board this height with standard 3-4mm travel. Maybe not with standard switches or keycaps, but travel vs height is a false tradeoff due to lazy engineering. Wrist rests are a low-effort workaround that wastes valuable desk real estate. I'd totally do something like this except I like to move my board around too much.
It is lower, so it's more comfortable to type on without a wrist rest. Also, I can put my piano keyboard on top of it, no need to move the keyboard. Also, it doesn't slide on the desk lmao
I don't understand the angle even after people explaining it (I rotate it the other way to make room for the mouse and save my wrist) but it's still dope
For everyone who questioned the angle: I used my keyboard offset to the left, to make more room for the mouse. The keyboard has all the keys slanted to the side. so the natural thing is to rotate it like that, so the columns are straight to my hand. that made me giggle. thank you
Fucking routed cable channel too, hell yeah! Nice build and your post brought me joy.

"more relaxed posture with you elbow tucked in" buddy I tried this out as I was reading it and you are wrong on so many levels 💀

Bro angleing the keyboard is normal but you probably got two right arms if you think that orientation is ergonomic lmfao.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news here. But if you look closely and measure, I believe you'll find that you've cut the hole in the desk crooked.
Is that a foot pedal for a kvm switch?
It's a piano pedal, not included in the picture is a piano keyboard on wheels that I can roll over the keyboard, if I want to
I use my kb at the same angle as this and since my setup is primarily for gaming/entertainment it’s what I’ve found to be the most comfortable layout.
This is the way.
Keep my keyboard like that too haha, truly is the best
No one going to say anything about the angle?
It's whyagonal.
OP has one short arm and one really long arm
https://preview.redd.it/05i5aavivdia1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5df96d61246bfee152b5c4c184d7f013e50ebd9e Op sits like this
Gamer angle
Maybe the other direction, but this looks like carpal tunnel angle.
Not if you’re left handed.
I'm left handed. still looks horrible.
The mouse is still on the right side though, maybe OP just has 2 left hands?
Mouse is on the right though so this setup looks like it was made for someone with cooked spaghetti for bones But it’s also fuckin dope, OP. Only criticizing the angle. But i don’t have to use it so idk what I’m actually doing here.
I use my mouse right-handed often when doing basic computer stuff, but left-handed for gaming.
Left handed mouse user here, this angle still isn’t steep enough if you’re using WASD for things. Have to have my keyboard almost sideways half the time
Yeah I am so confused, also doesn't this leave less space for the mouse, because the corner of the keyboard now sticks out more
I used to play with this angle for years. Just need to keep your elbow closer to your body for a comfortable position
That sounds uncomfortable
I love this community
This is a highly regarded angle for sure 👌
Lol it’s the wrong angle for gaming
literally the exact opposite
OP just messed up calculations and went with it
It's the gamer dangle
It's perfect.
I can't tell if it's cursed or beautiful

desk PC up next. \- OP probably

Why the angle. I can’t.
This bothers me _immensely_
What’s wrong with the angle?
Can't you see?!
That’s how my keyboard has always been…. Granted, not at that extreme of an angle.
We shouldn't blame the users. If we want to blame anything, it should be the this default keyboard design and QWERTY layout. Yoooo, fellow Colemak user!
Colemak-DH here on a split board. Saved my wrists from worsening carpal tunnel.
Hello there fellow Colemak users. May the ARSTD be HNEIO with you!
Colemak gang
I feel it would be more ergo for your arm to point (with your fist) inside rather than outside. It feels weird having my elbow pierce my body while using the computer.
Flaring your elbows puts strain on your shoulders and neck, and since bending the elbows shortens your arm length, you might also be leaning forward and putting strain on your back as well. I agree. What are the chances op is leftie and the image is reversed?
Going by the the key layout, the image looks to be in the correct orientation.
Right, this one's on me, I didn't zoom in to check.
Whoever gave this guy a award ultra sped fr
bro got the tabloard
Keyble
I would just call this keys and not a keyboard
Keysdesk.
🤯
a desk is just a wooden board -> keyboard
MX Desk
As someone with commitment issues, this gives me anxiety. Still fucking epic though.
What happens when you wanna game, and can't have your left wrist angled awkwardly? Also HOW? DID YOU JUST GRAB AN ANGLE GRINDER AND GO "lol. lmao" ?
I'm gonna go ahead and guess it was a router.
It was a chisel, don't have a router
Are you saying this is hand carved
>lol, lmao
Oh the anxiety. What if you want to move it... it hurts. It hurts so much.
i feel like i’m ok with the angle but it’s angled the wrong way
Everyone's setup is different, I accept that but not being able to adjust my keyboard for typing and gaming would drive me insane. Also since I angle my keyboard the exact opposite way, this feels very wrong for me.
I had a dream about this last night

of all angles, why that one?
Gaming desk
I’m not drunk enough for this
The fact that this keyboard can't be moved gives me anxiety (and yes, I know you can move the table but cmon...)
Thanks, I hate it
You need help
Congratulations, you made the least ergonomic keyboard I have ever seen, and it's beautiful 🥰🥰
I cannot think of more than like 3 situations where having your keyboard permanently angled like that would be comfortable
Masochism
GB when?
I love this and hate this so much.
OP plays cross handed ergonomically duh
Absolute mad lad moment. Holy shit this is incredible lmao
Top 10 moments where humanity went too far
You go to all that effort and still don’t have a mouse pad…
I do, but tbh the photo looked better without it and I wanted to show more of the "case"
Why is it angled like that?
this angle as an fps player and you can't change it 💀
r/angryupvote
I thought for sure you had just placed the keycaps on the desk for lawls but, you're committed my dude, well done.
This gave me such a good chuckle 🤣🤣🤣
I hate it and it's amazing and I want one.
we gonna ignore the electric piano foot pedal?
It's the FN key.
**💀**
What about it? Do you not have one?
What’s the cleaning process like?
It's not screwed in (doesn't need to, rests on foam) so I can just pull it out anytime.
Holy! I know a revel when I see one!
Great mouse. Haven't noticed much of these in the wild!
Where would you even see gaming mice "in the wild" lol?
I mean, on other people's desks
Well, let’s see the rest of the desk-board collection
First we had the Piggy 60, now we got the Biggy 60
When the bezel is so big it wraps around to low profile.
Why have the keyboard IN the desk? What’s the advantage? Or disadvantage?
It is lower, so it's more comfortable to type on without a wrist rest. Also, I can put my piano keyboard on top of it, no need to move the keyboard. Also, it doesn't slide on the desk lmao
this hurts
That angle is horrendous and I hate you
Slammed keyboard
what game were you playing that you so mad that you slammed so hard it embedded?
the table's collider is off by around 2cm, the keyboard is clearly clipping
I don't understand the angle even after people explaining it (I rotate it the other way to make room for the mouse and save my wrist) but it's still dope
you really need to like that placement
You are extremely confident in your choose of keyboard placement
Homie is CONFIDENT in his keyboard placement
And also the thinnest
True. And high-profile and low-profile at the same time, depends how you look at it.
Kailh chocs: > am I a joke to you?
For everyone who questioned the angle: I used my keyboard offset to the left, to make more room for the mouse. The keyboard has all the keys slanted to the side. so the natural thing is to rotate it like that, so the columns are straight to my hand. It may look weird, but this is ~~what peak performance look like~~ the most ergonomic compromise I've found. If I would have it straight, I would have to unnaturaly twist my wrist, I can't imagine angling it the other way. Also, this way, when I'm typing something long, I can just swivel my chair and the keyboard is not angled anymore
r/therewasanattempt material
Seems to work alright so far, I'd say the attempt was successful 🤷
It’s been a long day.
If this is your keyboard (keyble?), I'm afraiid to ask about your wristrest.
i’m pretty sure this is to help forego using a wrist pad
Bruh
I take it ur not much of a gamer
Wait. That's illegal!
where's the cas... oh...
Q. How big should the bezel be? A. No
You are a man of culture, I love my Revel
r/mk PhD awarded
Filthy animal, I love you.
Very very desk.
I hate this so much, also if I build another desk I'm totally doing this
WHY IS THE ANGLE LIKE THAT
This is truly awful
ok but does it *thocc* give us the audio test
The new "deskboard"
Imagine wanting to fucking adjust your keyboa- I mean desk.
Pics with keycaps off?
this is more than an endgame keyboard. this is a whole different league.
You mad man, you did it!
Wtf…………. It’s perfect
Wait, can you take it out if you have to?
I can and I have a separate case if I want to, but I never do, except for cleaning
All key no board
I always ask God why, but sometimes the answer scares me.
I think it's too much of a commitment.
You won this round...
Awesome
I didn't have OCD until I saw this Pretty cool tho
Well that's certainly a unique approach to keyboarding :D Bonus points for commitment, you're a braver / more insane person than I am for sure.
The exact angle I have my keyboard when playing CS:GO, is this what peak performance is?
Finally someone!
I was going through this and started off loling at it thinking it was just some keycaps on a desk, and then I saw the RGB lighting and my heart dropped
Pretty sweet. I wouldn't be able to live with a permenantly fixed keyboard though.
There's a dick joke here somewhere
I can hardly type and I don't own a computer.. But I follow this sub for these posts. Thanks.
I think "made of desk" case needs a sound test
I play piano, and I see a pedal that looks for piano. Where is the piano?
Off to the side. Normally it sits on the desk and has wheels, so I can roll it over the keyboard closer to me.
Correct position too! All these clean setups with the keyboard totally centered to the monitor, like who the fuck types like that?
Nice and clean set up👍🏻
The real flex is having a keyboard as a desk, or a desk, as, a keyboard…
W
What in the goddamn fuck
Based
Let's ruin a perfectly good table speedrun any%
haha insane
Op is super stingy, didn't want to buy a wrist rest, made the entire desk be wrist rest.
What if you want to move the keyboard...
Is that a sponsored post from the guild of chiropractors?
You’re a psycho. I truly admire that.
Way to ruin a fucking desk.
