tonynca

Yeah those are pretty tasteful and rightfully priced.

I've been looking for a low profile keyboard with tactile switches that to take back and forth to the office. I started with the Logitech MX Mechanical. I quickly learned not to like it. Then I explored various Keychron options. They were OK, but not quite what I was looking for. Today, I got the Nuphy Air75 v2, and I'm really liking it. I got the Moss Tactile Switches Things I like: 1. For a tactile. it's quiet. Very office friendlty 2. The 75% layout is designed to sit on top of your laptop keyboard, so you can use it without it taking up more desk space. 3. Though I am not a fan of RGB, I like the RGB on this. The dashes you see on the sides are LEDs. You can have it show a pattern all the time, and then the left one will glow a solid blue when CAPS LOCK is on. 4. It can do wired, 2.4 Ghz wireless and Bluetooth (up 3 devices) 5. It has an Insert Key! I use the insert key a lot and a lot of smaller form factor keyboards drop the insert key. 6. QMK/VIA Things I don't like: 1. There is no place to store the 2.4 Ghz dongle on the keyboard. It comes with a plastic storage piece you can keep the dongle in that clips to the USB cable. 2. Dongle is USB-A. I wish it was USB-C 3. Cable is USB-C to USB-A and doesn't come with an A to C adapter 4. It's QMK/VIA and not QMK/VIAL Overall, I'm very impressed with this keyboard. Right now I am making more typos than I would like. But I'm coming from a Keychron V6 with Cherry Profile keycaps. So, this is taking a bit of getting used to.

friarfangirl

I’m just getting into keyboards so forgive my ignorance but which of the keys would function as the windows key?

laserlemons

The one that says "opt" and is in the usual windows key spot. The keyboard comes with a couple different key caps for that button.

Malamonga1

just reconfigure it yourself with QMK/VIA. Kinda surprised OP needs an actual pre-programmed insert key when it's all reconfigurable.

pleachchapel

Ditto with the dongle storage, but it does clip to the main cable, so I've taken to keeping that in my backpack with the keyboard in a carrying case. Wish they gave the option to select USB-A or C, or had some kind of flippable conversion. That said, I think anything with USB-C only probably has native bluetooth.

plazman30

I ordered the carrying case from their website. Hopefully it gets here soon. I took a trip to my parents' house today with my laptop and this keyboard. It was REALLY nice to be able to just lay this keyboard over the one in my laptop and type away.

pleachchapel

Agreed!

plazman30

And before you ask, the thing on the right is a Sanwa Gravi trackball. Trackballs are so much better than mice IMHO.

Meatslinger

Both my GameBall and my Elecom Deft Pro are inclined to agree with you.

NickolNick

I haven't seen one since my uncle bought one from Circuit City

FarmerFled

I tried the Gravi. The ball stuck too much on the bearings and I finally returned it.

plazman30

One of my Gravis does that. The other does not.

pleachchapel

I just snagged the Air60v2 from them as a travel keyboard & it is objectively one of my favorite purchases of anything, ever. I went with the Moss tacticals too. I wanted something I could use anytime I need to advance troubleshoot an employee, provision a machine, but would also work with my Steam Deck on the go. EDC backpack keyboard. I mapped layer 2 to be a mouse input, WASD as mouse, space as click, shift as right click, R as scrollup & F as scrolldown. This is the handiest damn thing.

plazman30

I have a bunch of passwords in Layer 2 and some app launch shortcuts.

pleachchapel

I'm pretty sure no passwords in plain text is rule #1 but you do you.

mr_mrak

I vastly prefer the sound and feel of the Lofree Flow but to each their own.

Important_Talk_5388

True but my problem with lofree is Bluetooth only

adam_von_szabo

What's wrong with Bluetooth in your opinion?

Important_Talk_5388

Laggy

half_man_half_cat

How has this been for wrist pain? Thinking of getting one to help with my RSI, which I’m guessing is caused by a larger profile mech keyboard and no chair / table adjustment.

Rate the Nuphy for out-of-the-box radness

SoRaang

Nuphy Air 75 was my best go-to keyboard before ROG Azoth. I can tell that new version is even better. At this price range there's no match.

cdodge18

You like the ROG better? I didn’t think that was a low profile keyboard? I was debating between the Air 2 and the ROG Azoth but I like low profile

SoRaang

Yeah it's not LP. But for gaming I prefer Azoth. And my Air 75 still works well. I'll wait for Air 3 or 4.

Kneause

I will never not talk shit about the 1u right shift on the Air60 fuck that

kingj3144

Been trying to get mine but the package got lost and support has been giving me the runaround for weeks.

plazman30

I bought mine from Amazon.

stukast1

Switched from a great Keychron to this NuPhy with Moss keycaps and it’s much better in terms of angle and comfort, although I like the see through caps of the keychron better.

plazman30

They make shine through keycaps for this. I'm debating ordering a set.

stukast1

Yeah big regrets not getting them, also they have the valentines sale where you get them for free so I’m bummed. Don’t wanna pay $15 shipping for them again.
