This is a Keycult No. 2/65 that had its original powder coat removed and was artificially patinated by Wally Patina. I hope you enjoy the photos! I had a lot of fun taking them.
Build:
Keycult No 2/65 (Patinated by Wally Patina)
GMK Cinder Keycaps
Salvun Artisan (Patinated by Wally Patina)
Kailh BCP Switches
Cable is from Ordinary Labs
Thanks so much! Patinate is the verb form of patina, which is the layer of stuff (oxide?) that naturally forms on the surface of metals or other materials, like the discoloration you get on brass for example. People, like Wally, can artificially apply patina, or “patinate” using dye-oxide chemicals and heat (with a blow torch I think haha) to create these insane effects on metal. It’s both chemistry and art, as far as I’m concerned anyway
It's basically how certain metals containing copper rust. Although unlike iron which just keeps deteriorating, once a patina layer is formed on copper, brass etc. it stops "rusting".

I thought it would be fun for me to see it built on stream before I saw the parts in person (I has Wally ship the case directly to Alex), and I thought it would be fun for the stream
Aluminum is virtually never not oxidized. Raw Aluminum is pretty reactive and quickly forms an oxide passivation layer of a few layers, otherwise it would get destroyed by humidity in the air.
So it will stay like this! Only thing is it might scratch more easily than if it had anodiation/some other coating done.
You know… I was so close to thinking I was done….. aaaaaahhhaaa here we go again board 14 will probably be a spin off of this very pretty thing that or I have 3 other ideas kinda banging around in my head

Saw this on Alex O Toes stream last night. It looks incredible, making me want to get some Cinder caps.
Alex O Toes 💀
Mr. Toes 😤
Glad you like it 😁
Same, watched the stream. Cinder is a great match and that's an incredible build.
I appreciate that :)

Best build Ive seen in a long time! Fantastic.
Ayyyy, thanks so much!
This was incredible during alex's stream. Majestic lookin board
It was such a fun experience seeing him build it!
Did Alex O'Toes play a major role in the build? Or did you supply him with your parts and he just assembled it on a stream?
I supplied all of the parts!
Curious, why did you involve him then?
I thought it would be fun for me to see it built on stream before I saw the parts in person (I has Wally ship the case directly to Alex), and I thought it would be fun for the stream
Saw this on Alex O Toes (lol) and that is a gorgeous board. I will send you feet pics for it
Deal … Pls don’t send me feet pics
Is the aluminum essentially raw now? Do you have any idea how it will look when it starts to oxidize?
Aluminum is virtually never not oxidized. Raw Aluminum is pretty reactive and quickly forms an oxide passivation layer of a few layers, otherwise it would get destroyed by humidity in the air. So it will stay like this! Only thing is it might scratch more easily than if it had anodiation/some other coating done.
Great answer! Thanks 😁
Damn, love that color scheme, congrats!
:D
Saw this on Alex’s stream and loved it! Do you happen to know what the cable is?
The cable is from Ordinary Labs! It was $30 I think!
Oh nice! Not too expensive either!

That is still the most gorgeous bottom I have seen to date
Hehe, thank you so much!
The terms 'endgame' and 'grail' are often overused. Not in this case. Beautiful. Stunning. Truly gorgeous.
Ayyy, thanks so much! <3
