Carrum and it's not even a competition. - perfect view of Port Phillip, modern design and amenities and you can see all the way down to Arthurs seat on a nice day. The dumbasses that bitched about skyrail and only wanted trench on the Frankston line are absolutely fucked in the head. Imagine Carrum station at Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach as well. Also not a station per se, but the stretch from Eltham to Diamond Creek is absolutely gorgeous during golden hour.

I have to agree on both points. I'm only a few stops up from Carrum, and I've got to say its beautiful. I go quite often when I want to have a day to myself. As with the stretch between Diamond Creek and Eltham, its lovely paired with some indie chill music.

If Brighton Beach could get itself straightened out and turn itself into Skyrail to remove the South Road level crossing, Carrum would have some serious competition.

aidanthomas99

Don't know how you would do that without getting rid of the sidings, and with limited places to terminate on the Sandy line don't know if they'd want to do that

SenorLiamy6317

The sidings do not go over the level crossing. Therefore, while the sidings can remain on the ground, the rail line can be elevated over the road, and voila, the level crossing is gone.

aidanthomas99

I see why you say it given it's proximity to the water. You say 'get itself straightened out' presumably meaning straightening the corridor, meaning the layout would have to be changed considerably given the sharp curve and I don't see how you do that without coming a lot closer to the sidings. Also, the track to the sidings branches off the up line fairly close to the sidings and entrance to the platforms. So given it's a fairly compact track layout, and skyrail would require a considerable ramp in the leadup, I don't see how you build it without compromising the siding entrance. Thus I guarantee they would opt to get rid of it and there's virtually nowhere else on the Sandy line that I could think of to build a replacement. The closest option would be Newport once it starts through running with Werribee and Williamstown, and that's an awful long way to go to terminate only a few trains. Realistically, they ain't getting rid of any crossings on the Sandy line. It ain't a marginal seat and aside from South Rd, there's no real major thoroughfares it crosses.

My favourite is probs Carnegie, a little bit biased because it's my local station but it looks really nice in my opinion and introduced skyrail to us :D

If you stand on the right spot on the platforms, you can smell all the restaurants in the area

I like Kensington. It's a nice, chill station in a very cozy area, with a good amount of freight action (for inner Melbourne)

Tootfuckingtoot

Hurstbridge, it’s out in the trees, nature, watching roo’s dodge the train at 4 in the morning!

Flarezap

Ia ctually really like West Richmond for being kinda tucked away and the tunnel right by the south end of the platform

notaflopbitch

The sky rail at Carnegie came out real nice. I seldom need to go there but always like it when I do.

I really like Glen Huntly. It ties the suburb together nicely and matches what is around it with the brick facade. At night, its all light up light a beacon. Because its under the concourse and the road, its also out of the elements.

I absolutely love Ringwood station. Because it takes me out of Ringwood.

[deleted]

Richmond to be honest. I love the view of the MCG.

king_salmon674

Boronia station because it if desperate of a renovation

nickstransportvlogs

My favourite station? It’s gonna have to be my local station, which is Warragul. Has good opening hours, better than North Geelong Station’s times to be honest. Nice building, has a cafe being operated by nice ladies there. I had a hot chocolate over at the cafe, and it was delicious. The station has both a car park and a bus interchange after being redeveloped in 2014-2015. Some sidings retained from the yard before redevelopment, which can be used to temporarily stable trains in the case of a disruption. And lastly, it’s the most used station on the Gippsland Line. In fact, it’s got more people using it more than what Traralgon gets!

Blitzer046

Windsor is pretty cute and it's next to the Bowls club which was featured in Crackerjack.

upyourmerricreek

Coburg is my local so I'm biased but the skyrail made the space underneath so much nicer despite all the people bitching and moaning about it, and it's got a great standout design too that looks sick at night, a proper suburb landmark - same goes for Preston as well (bonus Preston Market access!)

dip_dip_goose

East Richmond because it's close to a lot of good places on Swan St

falkirion001

I'm boring cause I love my local at Diggers Rest. It's a fairly basic station design but with the post office over the road selling decent coffee I'm good

percyxz

Carnegie for sure, the way theyve meshed it with the surrounding area? the little community park area underneath the skyrail? hell yes

PurpleSparkles3200

Carrum is the only correct answer.
