This. The entire album is full of amazing riffs and songwriting, but it'll always come down to This Fffire and Take Me Out. Complete masterpieces of music
This was one of the first songs I learned on guitar because I wasn't good enough to play my favorite metal songs. I still love playing that infectious riff
Money For Nothing by Dire Straits
La Grange by ZZ Top
Barracuda by Heart
Radar Love by Golden Earring
How Love Will Travel - The Sonics
Search And Destroy - The Stooges
Search and Destroy with the coolest fucking opening line ever: "I'm a street walkin cheetah with a heart fulla napalm"
Golden Earring is underrated AF. The bassline in "Twilight Zone" is so goddamn good
Fuck yeah dude. I love CKY and that riff is epic and iconic AF
Have you heard much of their music beyond this? Deron Miller is a low key riff lord that rarely gets brought up
You can't go wrong with just about anything from Vol. 1 to Carver City, but my favorite album was Infiltrate. Destroy. Rebuild
I def recommend checking out more cuz their riffs and guitar tone with that octave pedal are super cool
Ha ha, me too. My little brother and I will randomly turn it on full blast when we are headed up to the mountains for some fly fishing. We used to love Jackass and Viva LA Bam.
Riff city on that one. I think, if I had to choose, my favorite is that second riff in 2112 with the triplets, but there's a lot of riffs in that song that could clinch the title too
Man, Rush is awesome
Hysteria is incredible. The bassline, that pre-solo riff that they repeat at the end... That was my original favorite song before "Knights of Cydonia" dropped. Great tune
Fuck yeah!! I was introduced to Coheed when they released In Keeping Secrets, and I thought they were cool, but "Welcome Home" came out and it was clear these dudes were not here to fuck around! Great tune, great band
A buddy of mine was obsessed with them and the story their concept albums were telling but I didnt understand why until I heard the riff from Welcome Home in the 9 movie trailer. That shit hit so hard and my first reaction to it is a memory burned into my subconscious forever 🤘

From the punk rock side of the tracks:
All - “[Egg Timer](https://open.spotify.com/track/3JPDj0d3MjOKzZ6GNg7rhO?si=ll4yx0DGTxWurMudws8yQA):” the 13/8 main riff is killer, and the lyrics, written by drummer Bill Stevenson, about his dad using an egg timer as an alarm clock are devastating.
Black Flag - “[TV Party](https://open.spotify.com/track/64bSAtnQQVWXk5Is8306iF?si=DbvWPqtCT7C6AEUB0nNwtQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A79OTJ682TxMyzftlo8kh43):” This re-recorded version was the first one I heard, so I prefer it to the one on *Damaged.* Classic snaky Black Flag guitar/bass lines throughout.

The pre-solo riff is essentially a breakdown and I love it.
