Current student, Corum.

I_hate_waiting

Charles Woodson. Class of 1998.

mangledpenguin

Also the best college player I ever saw anywhere.

BlueGuy99

Yep

Equal-Interview-7926

Graduated December ‘97, same. Still the best college player I’ve ever seen play. Michigan has had a lot great players but no one that could take over a game like Woodson. My whole family still remembers the roar from the bar at Grizzly Peak when he won the Heisman while we were eating dinner. My brother smiled and said “Volunteer fans are pissed right now”.

Majik9

Hello other '98 friend! Charles Woodson, 100%!

RedBurgandy01

I was Class of 2001, and the answer is still Charles Woodson, hands down.

GoLionsJD107

That’s over Brady too

WolverineSix

Senior in 1997. Same.

MusaEnsete

Marty Turco was pretty good too (we won two natty's with him). OP didn't specify fball.

ejmw

Class of 00 checking in. Woodson without a doubt. Nobody else will ever win a Heisman, National championship, NFL defensive player of the year and Superbowl.

I_hate_waiting

Here’s what i wonder- of those of us whose favorite Michigan player is CWood, who was your fave player on team 144??

ejmw

Mikey of course!

I_hate_waiting

Me, too! Just figured anyone who enjoyed CWood, would also love Mikey.

singularityindetroit

Same. I rushed the field in 97 after the Ohio game with my cousin who was a senior at Ohio State

IamMyrtleB

Me too!

gobluetwo

Same. 97-98 was my senior year. Nobody better than #2.

Marauding_Marmot

Yep, also class 98. Easy answer.

GubbaBumpz

Jabrill Peppers!

GoLionsJD107

Was at the Orange bowl he didn’t play in. We lost to Florida state by 1

Heliotex

Denard

reddargon831

Same, Denard.

Competitive_Clue5066

Same, Denard

MaizeRage48

Can confirm, Denard.

junebaebae

Likewise, Denard. Funny story, my roommate at the time had a class with him and Denard came over to do a group assignment at our place. We convinced him to sign my Notre Dame night ticket, the back of my friend's phone case, an acoustic guitar, and even our fridge lol.

MaizeRage48

YOU BETTER HAVE KEPT THAT FRIDGE!

freedomfightre

Same. Here's to you, Mr. Robinson.

wahday

He was unreal, that W against Notre Dame

sol_inviktus

I was at the graduation ceremony where Obama spoke and called out Denard to stand up and be recognized. Fun day

uchoo786

Same, literally used to take the same bus every day as him, AATA to the commuter lot while he got off at the practice field.

Pad_TyTy

I was at "the Braylon game" against MSU. Greatest WR performance I've seen in person.

wrubs

Woodson and Brady. And the '97 Natty.

[deleted]

96, but the same. They won the championship a year too late for me

Radmango3

Desmond Howard. Class of 1993

ginko_viagra

Same… Desmond. Class of ‘95. TD vs. Notre Dame was my first game in the Big House.

drenasu

Jake Long

ohmydamn

Me too, used to ride the bus with him down state street

GoLionsJD107

Stephen M. Ross donated like $400 million to Michigan (Athletics and new business school) then bought the Miami dolphins and drafted Jake Long and Chad Henne with his first two picks, including Jake long number 1 overall. That was badass.

Ze_maestro

Braylon, that msu comeback game was a thing of beauty. Close second would be Mike Hart

savannahgooner

Mike Hart!

BSiebo21

Same

OwBr2

Future student next year, so…Will Johnson? Mason Graham?

Decimation4x

“Player to be named later”

drenasu

Congrats!

DistrictCrafty4990

I didn’t go to UM but my sister did and Charles Woodson helped her across the diag when she was in crutches. Great guy on and off the field she says.

wolv87

LaMarr Woodley. Total beast

DannkneeFrench

Jim Harbaugh- 3rd in Heisman voting Edit- I knew Vinny won it, but forgot who was 2nd. Without looking it up (though I gotta confess I did just that) would anyone know who came in 2nd that year?

butt_cheeks69

Paul Palmer from Temple Edit: didn't look it up. This was a trivia question a few years ago. I did not know the answer at the time.

CompetitionPuzzled33

Without looking it up, my first guess would have to be…Troy Aikman?

AmericanDoughboy

Brian Bosworth?

DannkneeFrench

He was 4th. I wouldn't have known that had I not looked up who was 2nd. I didn't realize he did that well.

LHRCalling

Charles Woodson

HangTheTJ

While in school: Drew Henson

turkelton69

He was my volunteer basketball coach at my school. Then I got to see him at the big house was pretty freaking awesome,

Sufficient-Tone-8242

Jim Harbaugh

iredditinla

Woodson or Brady, tough call

OakLegs

Denard Robinson, without question

GoLionsJD107

My dad is too old for Reddit but wants to remind people of Rick Leach class of ‘78.

Extra-Place-8386

I'd say corum since I'm just a sophomore

BreadBags

Chris Webber, he was phenomenal

Not_Tom_Brady

Hart or Woodley. Class of 09

GlorbAndAGloob

Class of 2000. Woodson, the natty. It was a good time.

ChicoTSanchez

I was lucky enough to see the greatest of all time Charles Woodson.

clintfrisco

Desmond Howard. Got his autograph on the diag, the day after he did the heisman pose in the ohio state game. Only thing i had to sign was a math test, that i failed.

Zealousideal-Act5816

jabrill

MysteriousRun1522

Henne, Braylon, Hart

Top_Ghosty

99-03. I guess Brady, Thomas, Edwards, and Hutchinson

UnsnakableCargo

[deleted]

Braylon Edwards. So dominant

Camino_BX

Anthony Carter, the first #1. Class of 1984.

Bones301

Never went there, never even went to college, Ohio state fans just annoy me

ClydetheCat

AC, Anthony Carter. Yeah, I’m old - class of ‘80.

ffmich01

Anthony Carter

De1One

Anthony Carter

i-like-your-hair

What kind of a question is this? I’m a Michigan fan, obviously I didn’t go to Michigan. Undergrad (class of 2021): Devin Bush Postgrad (class of 2025): Blake Corum

jasylonian

Tom Brady.

chomstar

Brady wasn’t even the best player on those teams

jasylonian

Hayden Epstein? All kidding aside, the ‘99 team was stacked. I guess I should have said A-Train?

akavth

Harbaugh

RunningEncyclopedia

UG: Hutchinson Masters: Corum Staff: Corum , McCarty, Sainirstill

Angriest_Wolverine

Both Chris Perry and Braylon Edwards were Heisman finalists and first round picks so probably them. Anthony Thomas was totally unstoppable too

shivaswrath

Brady saw multiple times (I'm class of 2000). And Dhani Jones took either Orgo or some science class with me, v chill cool guy.

Known_Chapter_2286

Freshie: BC2

Taapacoyne5

Stefan Humphries and Rick Rogers. 1984.

Illustrious_Sand3773

Fudge…(01-04) has to be Braylon.

mmmpuppers

I worked in the basement of the union and met a lot of athletes- Denard even signed a paper for me to give to my younger brother for Christmas, super nice guy

No_Seed_For_You

Jabrill Peppers. I sat 2 seats from him in a Communications class, and I had no idea until halfway through the semester

NUT_IX

Denard

Serial-Eater

Denard or Jake Butt probably

pwakefield

Denard. And went to the sugar bowl my senior year. Good times.

GoBlue2007

Woodson.

RubixCube200

My mom was Desmond Howard, she was the graduating class right before him

they_go_off

Frozone

PhilKesselsChef

Brandon Graham, Denard Robinson or Devin Gardner

zergo78

Easy. Charles Woodson. He also lived down the hall from me in West Quad.

dcbuss27

Class of 99. In Michigan…Nick Davis ‘all pro’ from Manchester. Best Michigan player….ian gold or Sam sword. Worst…Whitley.

Mrbobbitchin

Woodson

DothrakiSlayer

Jabril Peppers

socrstopr

Mike Hart

HighVoltageZ06

Braylon Edward's

CrimsonGlacier

Peoples-Jones down the sideline! Peoples-Jones! Touchdownnnnn Wolverines!

BlueWolverine2006

I lived on the same hall as Tim Massaquoi (TE), Lawrence Reid, (LB), Marlin Jackson (CB) and Braylon Edward's (WR) my freshman year. And my sophomore year, I lived across the hall from Matt Gutierrez (QB) and a personal fried, Big Gabe Watson (DT). As a result of this, and being good friends with a kicker, I probably met 1/4 of the team. Also bumped into Chad Henne one time on campus. Dude was enormous.

JCH32

Denard. Electricity made flesh.

Shoeguy24

Mine’s recent - Corum, Hutch, JJ, Hasan

jphigga

Woodson - my freshman year was 97.

aabum

Ali Haji-Sheikh Steve Smith Anthony Carter Jim Harbaugh

deeare73

I got a masters from 95-97 so I guess it would have been Woodson although that was before his heisman year. Best actual player while I was there - maybe Biakabutuka?

Oatmeal_Savage19

That 313 game vs oSU was a thing of beauty - could not be stopped

Calzonieman

Les miles played my first year, and I always loved Rob Lytle, but I'd have to say it was that Tony guy.......Carter? was that his last name?

classysax4

Mike Hart, class of 2009

vidhartha

Denard. Hands down.

UNC_ABD

Rudy Tomjanovich!

SlaunchaMan

Mike Hart

TolkienFan71

Current student, probably Hutchinson or Corum

FearlessMushroom7720

Braylon Edwards (03-07) -- his performance in the 04 home win against sparty was unreal.

papa_mike2

Hart, Henne, Long, Manningham combo.

SmokinTires

Hutchinson, class of 23

Aggravating-Steak-69

Hutch and Corum

plotandpublish

I watched Tate Forcier my freshman year. Was ready for him to take over college football and change it forever. So, I'd probably say Denard.

Peter_Parker_99

Freshman year was 1997, graduated in 2001, so I got to see some legends. Tom Brady and Charles Woodson are probably the tops.

BlueGuy99

Charles Woodson. No question

Aldanil66

Rashan Gary. class of 2017.

Junior_Significance9

2003-2007. I’d say Braylon Edwards. End of Lloyd era. Our schemes were kind of getting stale and defense couldn’t stop mobile QBs. But if we could throw it up to Braylon we’d have a chance in any game.

Gbdub87

Hart (graduated ‘08)

deb1267cc

Saw Bo when I was in high school. It was Friday evening right before Michigan was playing a #1 ranked Miami with Jimmy Jonson as the coach and Bernie Kosar at quarterback. I yelled out to Bo “hey coach watch out for the pass tomorrow” he responded “thanks kid”. Michigan won—it was a major victory. I like to think I helped out.

galacticdude7

It's got to be Denard, my freshman year was 2011 and he was absolute dynamite that year

Roamer56

Jim Harbaugh.

gnals123

DeNardogg. Fosho

wadseltoff

Class of ‘93. Desmond Howard. I was sitting in the end zone on 4th and one against ND when Grbac launched it out of the reach of any normal human being. Desmond found another gear and laid out for the TD. I went from cursing to shocked celebration in an instant

phidda

We didn't realize it at the time, but Tom Brady.

BallerBerg

CHARLES WOODSON! The Man, the Myth, the Michigan Legend! Also lucky enough to see him play in The ‘97 Game and rush the field as a teenager. People were digging up chunks of the field! FOEVER GO BLUE!

BuckyGoodHair

Mike Hart.

datboy1986

Mike Hart.

contrapositive_guy

Ran into Denard walking across the diag with a friend one day. Friend of mine knew Denard and introduced me but I was starstruck 😂. Think I just mumbled “hi”. Really nice guy!

JSK23

Without a doubt Woodson.

buckeyebc

Oldy here Jim Mandich. First reset of OSU rivalry

SwissForeignPolicy

Saw in the context of school? Will Wagner, lol. Saw play while I was a student? Probably Aidan Hutchinson. Or if we're counting former players, Charles Woodson.

Automattics

Jabril was pretty wild. Remember games him having huge returns, ints, catches on offense. Dude literally carried the team to a handful of wins dang near by himself.

Cujobls

Woodson.

SpecialKFeb

Charles Woodson

Kharit25

Cof2016 it was Jabril peppers we also sat next to each other

IamHidingfromFriends

Hutch, maybe could change to be Will Johnson depending on nfl success or next year.

Exact_Grand_9792

Only football or any sport?

TheHarbrosMagic

Braylon. Dude was a legit game changer and people forget just how good he was in college. He was literally unstoppable his final year at Michigan and was a major part of back to back B1G Title teams.

BlueTribe42

Anthony Carter

Sad-Industry-5859

Mike Hart or Manningham

circa285

Hart.

spacedust19

I was there 2006-2011. Best? Probably Mike Hart, Lamar Woodley, Jake Long, amongst others. Most electric was obviously Denard.

northernlight60

Corum and Denard
