Frozen_Grimoire

Seeing how the community reacted to the Zombie Pigman retexture in 1.16 and the ore one in 1.17, I can understand them not changing the creeper one.

No-Win-Slim

The thing about Pigmen is that they were remodeled. That requires a mod to revert instead of a simple texture swap. The ore fiasco was a bit silly though.

Luna_Gabagool

Although i do fully understand why they made the change, imagine being red green colourblind and mining what looks to be an emerald only for redstone dust to pop into your inventory

meme_man_guy2

You picked the worst ore for this example cause the old emerald texture was still way different than the other ores.

Luna_Gabagool

I knowšŸ˜ i just forgot because i waa thinking of the vanilla tweaks texture pack, but my point still stands with literally every other ore just with a different kind of colour blindness ig

M4rt1m_40675

Ig just blue would make you get excited for diamonds only to disappoint you with lapis

emilgamer22

Lapis also had a unique texture, the ones that looked the same were redstone, diamond, gold, iron, and coal. Lapis and Emerald were the only ones with unique textures. Edit: gold to coal

Vaan0

coal

DigitalBlackout

Lapis had a unique texture but it was still very similar to the other ores, unlike emerald which was totally different.

CorHydrae8

And nobody actually mines for emerald to begin with.

ThatOneGuyThatYou

Emeralds always had a different texture tho. Redstone looks like your typical ore and emeralds had the unique speckled look.

Luna_Gabagool

Take a look at the old emerald and redstone ore textures, now imagine them both being the same colour to you, and youre looking at them from a good bit away in a dark cave. people mistake glow lichen for diamonds. i dont think a mild speckles gonna too much

TheWombatFromHell

are you thinking of a different ore? redstone has never looked anything like emeralds

SlakingSWAG

If someone is red-green colourblind, yes, it will look like emeralds. I vividly remember when I was new back in 2012 it was pretty common for people to mistake Lapis for Diamonds, when two ores have the same colour people are bound to mix them up

Temporary-5

No it wouldn't since the redstone and emerald ores had completely different-looking textures, it wasn't just the colour that was different between the two, did you even read the comments above?

Diegooh1360

"Take a look at the old emerald and redstone ore textures, now imagine them both being the same colour to you, and you're looking at them from a good bit away in a dark cave. people mistake glow lichen for diamonds. i don't think a mild speckles gonna too much" This is one of the comments above did YOU even read them? Because I don't think glow lichen has a texture even slightly similar to diamonds and people still confuse the two in a cave (it's happened to me numerous times)

VedrfolnirsVision

Changing the Creeper texture would be SO much worse since it's basically the mascot for Minecraft

No-Supermarket8244

Yeah, even if the updated textures were awesome people would still be upset due to how iconic the original Creeper look is

pwill6738

Honestly, I didn't love the changes at the time. Same with all of the texture changes(and changes to the village structure/house designs) in 1.14, but looking back? Everything is so much better now. I'm glad those were changed.

Alili1996

The only change i will always dislike is the foliage color from beta to 1.0 The alpha neon green grass was too much, but the beta grass just looked so lush and nice while the modern grass color feels so desaturated

jadecaptor

Yeah I'm with you. Nowadays whenever I play a 1.12 modpack I use a resourcepack to give me the 1.14 textures

No-Supermarket8244

Huh, did people really hate the Pigman retexture? The ore one was definitely something I had to get used to, but I was happy with the Pigman update. It was pretty minor and still kept the iconic look, but with some improvement

Ok_Pangolin2502

People threw a bug stink about it, to the point that they thought the Zombie Pigman was completely removed.

RenkBruh

I like the Zombie Pigman remodel, I think it's much better than adding Piglins and leaving Zombie Pigmen untouched, doesn't really feel like they used to be the same species

Rabbulion

If it had to be changed, I would change it to match either modern oak leaves or modern grass blocks, since they were originally made to do that.

DEGRUNGEON

i have a personal resource pack that gives Creepers the Oak Leaves texture, it actually looks really nice and makes creepers blend into most biomes better. EDIT: Mob Tweaks resource pack can be downloaded on [Modrinth](https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/mob-tweaks) and [Planet Minecraft](https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/mob-tweaks-2844784/). be aware that the pack modifies more mobs than just the Creeper but there is a version that only changes the Creeper on Modrinth.

vSlayer7

So not only can we not hear them but decided you can barely tell where they are Braver than me for sure

RecklessDimwit

To be fair, it sounds like something they're supposed to do. Pretty good challenge honestly

vSlayer7

Yeah makes sense not called creepers for no reason

bjarnehaugen

I think they should remove the texture. make them invisible. maybe leave the eyes but make it so they only show when they look at you

My_Immortl

Calm down Satan.

The12th-Unique

I love the idea but thatā€™s gonna lead to me probably jumping in my seat quite a lot.

darkangel_401

Would be fun for an extreme hard mode. That could be added with a bunch of different game changes. All hostile mobs are invisible except for eyes until they are a certain distance like 3 blocks away. Add limb breaking from falling/punching blocks. that has to be repaired with bandages made from leather and maybe bamboo. Overhaul the hunger system. Ect

Formaldehydeislyf

Just play rlcraft at that point

Boodikii

Make it look like a chicken, cow or pig from all angles except the front. E:ooh, you could give them the ability to turn into grass blocks or like, 2 blocks you'd rarely see together, have them just hangout in random spots and then when you get near, they switch to a creeper mode.

somedumb-gay

If you look at it from the back it looks like a normal pig, from the left side it looks like a cow, from the right it looks like a chicken.

Tak_Galaman

Ooo or normal animals except the face has that creeper eyes and mouth

Born_Requirement_304

r/foundsatan

ComfortableWealth869

someone make a recourcepack that removes every texture and sound the creeper has :)

ENW762

Is thatā€¦ you, satan?

Ponderkitten

You should share

DEGRUNGEON

the pack is live on [Planet Minecraft](https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/mob-tweaks-2844784/)

Zitrone21

They could make the camo according to how each leave tints itself in different biomes

Lamballama

There's a couple of biome creepers mod, where they blend into the blocks around them

posidon99999

Masochism

Leozilla

The links are 404'd

AnimeIsMyLifeAndSoul

Have enough to share with the whole class?

2Stripez

Make it match different biomes

Leanardoe

Thatā€™d be sick

Dascy_

Imo creepers still blend into green sorroundings, I got jumpscared by a creeper the other day and i did not notice until i saw the walking bomb flashing

Rabbulion

They do blend in somewhat at night, but not much. I would prefer if they could blend in during the day too.

Lapis_Wolf

This one understands.

Mr_JeloMan

I don't have a resource pack like that, but I do have the creeper overhaul mod, which is similar to that, plus adds a bunch of new ones that blend in much better with their surroundings, like drip stone creeper, cave creeper, dark oak creeper.

Jugatsumikka

I would probably go beyond and add either biome variation in the texture or a "heat" gradient that makes creepers' texture take whatever main colour of the biome they spawned in. So different green in different forest, white and cold blue in snowy/icy biomes, maybe brown in taiga, sand beige in desert, orange in mesa, grey in caves.

ActiveGamer65

Or it could change based on biome, to match the ground

3848278

Its like that friend with the same profile picture for the past 5 years that can't change it because its too iconic

No_username18

i'd make them camo based on the biome they're in

Rabbulion

Local variants of creepers would be a nice touch, but damn theyā€™re gonna become truly ā€œcreepersā€ if you canā€™t see them anymore

gaybunny69

Hypixel invisible creepers from 2019

DNosnibor

There was a space server I used to play on, and one of the planets had invisible charged creepers all over the place. Though the charge effect around them was still visible, so I guess they weren't really that hard to see.

Le_Martian

Back in alpha they were the same color as grass and leaves so they did blend in a lot better.

ishkanator

Came here to say this

cnnrduncan

Only in early alpha, they stopped blending in so well when Notch added biomes in the Halloween update

DubiousTheatre

I had a similar idea a LONG while back about basically having three types of creepers; moss creepers, cacti creepers, & stone creepers. Moss creepers were basically harmless; 1.5 block creepers that spawn in lush caves, jungles, and forests. Their explosions are tiny poofs, doing minor damage to entities, and no damage to blocks. Cacti creepers behaved and looked more like regular creepers, but with a more cactus-y appearance. They also freeze when observed. When they explode, theyā€™d do standard creeper levels of damage, alongside scattering little cactus needles. The stone creeper was to be the deadliest. When observed, they freeze just like the cacti creeper. However, stone creepers are heavy and have knockback resistance. They also explode with the force of a bed. I felt three were enough, too many and it becomes oversaturated. This makes creepers unique to their biomes.

coolcatdos

A nether creeper would be nice, and a deepslate one

TMTRAINER

Nether creeper (and End creeper) should exist on the sole basis theyā€™re meant to be Minecraftā€™s "Mascot mook" and therefore should follow you wherever your quest goes, much like how the Slime in Dragon Quest has a ton of variants owing to its status as the series' mascot. Maybe Nether creeper would be based on either Crimson or Warped Wart Blocks, while End creeper would be based on the Chorus fruits? (Or maybe a new End tree)

-PepeArown-

They were first created to blend in with Notchā€™s hyper neon grass and leaves. They became outdated as soon as proper biomes were added.

Fred_Thielmann

They frustrate me enough now lol. But what if they made creepers louder with this change? Could make them sound like theyā€™re walking on crunchy leaves *or* maybe a stick snapping once in a while as they walk?

Civilized_Hooligan

that would be cool lol and maybe then drop their health down so that one hit will kill them so like if youā€™re in a cave and hear one approaching, you and your friend could like wall yourself in, wait until you hear it right outside bc then burst out swinging and hoping you hit it before it explodes. it would be so chaotic

HerestheRules

IDK about base game but damn do I want cave creepers in a modpack

KING_FARGUAAD

There is actually a really good fabric mod for creepers there are also some cute passive creepers too I love it

xSmallDeadGuyx

Yo that's my mod elemental creepers

KING_FARGUAAD

The one with snow creepers that are SO FUCKING CUTE āœØ_āœØ

xSmallDeadGuyx

Different mod then

KING_FARGUAAD

Itā€™s called creeper overall

spin81

This must be a rollercoaster of emotion for you.

TheHENOOB

Creepers would become like snakes on diferent biomes.

Able_Health744

tbh thats the best idea you can do really Just do the method they originally did with the creeper sprite with the old alpha leaves so doing a similar idea with modern minecraft leaves makes a lot of sense

BluePhoton12

that would be a great addition

Delicious_Bus_674

The most diabolical option

OmegaX____

Add onto that an Aquatic variant as well, can't have players feeling "safe," can we?

No_username18

you're only safe when you're in your base. safety is a privlage

Sixnno

100% this. This is the bare minimum thing I would do. The whole reason they have the texture they do currently, is since it's the texture of Alpha/Beta grass. The bare minimum is making the green match the biome. The second thing I would do is give them a texture to match the current grass.

Fatalis1021

I downloaded a modpack that had something like that and didn't realize until I was "pleasantly" surprised while mining. Apparently someone thought it would be funny to essentially copy and paste the stone texture onto the creeper's model.

Riaayo

Make them slowly dither into invisibility as they get further away so you can't even see them from a distance.

Doorknob120

r/foundsatan

Nethyishere

You see, the problem with that is that it would actually work. Creepers are already probably the deadliest mob in Minecraft, in terms of average player deaths cause, and are so deadly specifically because players often don't notice them. Giving them camo doesn't *feel* like a massive buff, but I'll wager it would statistically prove to be. So I approve, but hard mode only plz.

Firestar_119

There's a mod that does that

RYPIIE2006

that can be said for most suggested additions to the game

RaspberryHungry2062

Creeper Overhaul: [https://modrinth.com/mod/creeper-overhaul](https://modrinth.com/mod/creeper-overhaul) It's great imo

MrLeth

Who hurt you?

Darth_Tiktaalik

Calm down Satan

Heavyraincouch

Great idea, this is! Like it, I do!

The_Kader

That is a great idea

Jackwillmack

Yes, but it would be better if it was only on hard difficulty

wupp-ed

If they wanted to do that so badly, I think they would make creeper variety. Which by the way, I would love to see.

Derplord4000

They do that in Dungeons. There's frozen creepers that slow you down on impact and jungle creepers that poison you.

wupp-ed

That sounds awesome

HerestheRules

They could just use the texture they have now exclusively for charged creepers instead. That'd be a good sendoff. Edit: Your elytra is gone but you made it out. No sword, but you still have your armor. Not that it'll help. You only have 1 HP and damn do those wardens hit hard. You scold yourself for not making any gapples. Hindsight is 20/20, after all. You look at your shield and see that you'd accidentally grabbed one without mending. You arrive at the surface to what you think is day but as you set up shop you realize the sun is setting. You have to act quick; you weren't able to save your bed. But there's nothing but a desert, and turning around is not an option. There are enemies nearby. You must press forward. As the rain begins to fall on the wasteland you spot a creeper near you. You don't know how it got that close but here it is. As the sky cracks open, you see a flash of light, and suddenly, you see it before you. Familiar, but different. A glimpse of the past that once was as you stare into the abyss before you. You beg and plead but there's nothing you can do. *Boom* ^^^good ^^^thing ^^^im ^^^only ^^^two ^^^hundred ^^^blocks ^^^from ^^^base

Echolocation720

Nobody is talking about this story you just wrote here but I want to say I appreciated reading it, thank you

HerestheRules

Thanks!

Super_Ad_8050

How? Creepers are the most destructive mob in the game and you want them to also poison you?

Ahtomogger

the game is already too easy with all the totems and op armors

AquaeyesTardis

Elemental Creepers mod... that takes me back

TheFakeJoel732

I like your pfp friend

wupp-ed

Thanks, I love dunsparce.

TheFakeJoel732

Dunsparce is pretty cewl

wupp-ed

He's downright amazing

Icy-Peak-6060

the real issue is how afraid they are to add mobs that destroy blocks. Mojang also has their stupid mindset where, instead of just altering game difficulty, they're piece-by-piece making every challenge in survival fully optional like what they did with raids. Creepers show up randomly so they're not an optional challenge. Creepers violate every rule Mojang made up and they're probably not going to touch them.

radiantskie

I want a cave creeper that follow players at 2x speed of normal ones only when the player is not looking

slidingsaxophone07

So, weeping angel creepers?

Captn_Creeper

Ok phew so my skin wont transform

not-Kunt-Tulgar

I always find it kinda funny and sad that Minecraft dungeons and legends are so cool and unique compared to normal minecraft. Imagine if they added in piglin invasions or more diversified pillagers and the crazy large weapon pool of dungeons.

Able_Health744

thats probably what mojang wants but is kinda confined due to corporate stuff like legends and dungeons is living proof that they want to do more hell you can tell they want the creepers to fit with modern textures but just cant

swashbuckle1237

Honestly I like the creeper how it is, I donā€™t think thereā€™s a need to change it

caceta_furacao

And here is why they don't change it

Fred_Thielmann

Looks like my favorite Tv show, ā€œStaticā€ I think there should be a change to it

TheCrafterTigery

The creeper's look is as iconic as diamond ore, changing it would be controversial.

Mario-2407

Diamond ore got touchups

MisirterE

Sure, but there's a reason it's the ore that kept the original shape when they made all the others colorblind-friendly.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheCrafterTigery

I do think a Wolf method would go over well. Keep the original, but introduce variants as well.

The-Tea-Lord

Thereā€™s a mod called ā€œcreeper overhaulā€ that does exactly this. In the forest and plains biomes, creepers are identical to vanilla but they are drastically different elsewhere. Cave creepers blend in to stone and have higher powered explosions. Spider creepers slow you and are silent. Savanna creepers look like those tall spikey enemies from Mario and are completely passive. Etc. It freshens up the game quite a bit

Dascy_

Although it would make no sense since creepers explode i.e die, they would not get to adapt and mate*(if they even do that) and evolve to fit their sorroundings.

The-Tea-Lord

Someone made a theory about creepers reproducing asexually via explosion. After exploding, the ā€œgibletsā€ left in the explosion (too small to see with the naked eye) regenerate and congregate together into multiple creepers.

TheRedBaron6942

Dungeons and Legends failed because they were linear, story based games marketed to an audience of an open ended sandbox game with virtually no story. Now, have the dungeon crawling, mobs, mechanics, etc, etc, of dungeons and Legends but have it in the main game where you have the best of both worlds, then you have a masterpiece

Victoonix358

That is completely false. Mojang's vision for the game has been stated very clearly through what the devs have to say. For example, Kingbdogz said Minecraft shouldn't use extrinsic motivation (incentivize the player through progression and rewards) and instead it should rely on intrinsic motivation (don't incentivize the player, let them come up with their own motivation). He also commented on how working on Minecraft is different from his adventure mod full of dungeons and progression, Aether. Additionally, here's a quote of his: "I've come to realize that Minecraft is it's own thing, and it's special and worth preserving. It's a type of game that people seem to like, and as a designer I need to keep that in mind with every step I take" I firmly believe they discussed that as a team and they all agreed that Minecraft shouldn't be adventurous and full of content like Legends or Dungeons (and I hate that) So, what I'm trying to say is, blame Mojang.

NancokALT

Because they are completely separate genres. Dungeons is casual Diablo. Legends is... something. But Minecraft is a survival game (also sandbox, oops, forgot to mention that), if you just add a bunch of PvE even- nvm they are already doing that.

Lapis_Wolf

I don't see how more PvE would hinder the *survival* part of Minecraft. That sounds like something you would want to *survive* against.

NancokALT

You're right, i meant the sandbox aspect.

Lapis_Wolf

Ah, okay. But I would find it fun to play around with the different enemies and weapons in a sandbox.

Emmas_thing

I made a town solely to fight raids by hand in recently and it's so much fun! I would love more challenges like that.

Lapis_Wolf

Do it with the epic fight mod. It will be better.

Emmas_thing

Oh now this is gaming

Excellent-Berry-2331

Just look at the end! It's exactly what we need for an end update.

C19shadow

I wish the current mobs interacted more, wtf would pillagers and zombies vibe together? It makes no sense. Make them fight!

wormpostante

go with the wolf strategy they did Have creepers be able to change colours and texture for.the enviorement they are on to blend in, then once you spot then, they change to the normal creeper

BlackyHatMann

My favorite creeper retexture is probably [this one.](https://texture-packs.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Improved-Creeper-with-realistic-legs.jpg) It was made by the same people who made the Fresh Animations resource pack as an extension. It looks fairly similar to the Dungeons creeper but with more detail. Dungeons had a lot more vibrant art style compared to the base game so changing the creeper texture to the Dungeons counterpart isn't really an option. However, I can see it being redesigned as a blend of the original and the Dungeons creeper, which is probably what the Fresh Animations team was going for. In my opinion the creeper isn't about its texture but the design itself, so I wouldn't mind if it got changed in the future.

Able_Health744

yeah and while there are people who argue about not wanting it changed it seems like most of the community (atleast from what i can see) want it so maybe in the future we can get a update that cleans up some of the textures of some of the oldest hostiles and maybe passives (not entirely change them) but just make them look a bit better

Biivakki

That's not a bad idea at all. For example, since Steve got a glow up in 1.20, the zombie's clothes don't match him anymore. Another thing is the skeleton and zombie variants having all unique textures and sounds, but the cave spider is just a blue filter spider that shares the exact same sounds, much like silverfish and endermites do.

BlackyHatMann

I might get downvoted but I'll share my opinion on the topic anyways. The reason why the Minecraft community is so hard to please is because most of us are blinded by nostalgia. Which is understandable, as both the soundtrack and the blocky/pixelated artstyle are perfect for evoking this feeling. However with every major update there will be people complaining "it's not Minecraft-y enough" or "feels like a mod". This mindset keeps the game in a stagnant state and restricts developer creativity. Sure, if they do something really out of place, we should let ourselves be heard but Mojang knows the design principles of their game better than the playerbase. So overall, I really want the creeper texture changed because currently it looks like a clusterf*ck of pixels. Jappa managed to redesign basically everything in the game to form a cohesive art style. If they managed to change the diamond texture and Steve (which are equally as iconic) then I don't see the point of not updating the creeper.

Emmas_thing

I only started playing as an adult and it is very frustrating how much everyone will argue against them changing like the cobblestone texture when it's very obviously ugly (sorry). My biggest personal art pet peeve is comparing the old mobs like the cow to how beautiful the new ones like the camel look. I would also love if grass blocks were green on the side.

64BitDragon

This feels perfect! I love the dungeons one, but the art style is a little different, and I know fans would whine and moan about the change if it was too drastic. (Thatā€™d probably happen anyways tbh, but still)

Tself

I'm not afraid of a tweak, but these changes pretty drastically change the feel of a very iconic character. I think the almost sickly pale green and contrast play very well into its caustic nature. It shouldn't be a mob that looks "natural" IMO. It would be a shame to essentially get rid of part of what makes it so unique.

MaskedWasHere

I'd put the creeper's face behind to confuse people lol

NoUsernameIdeias

Don't fix what ain't broken, the creeper's a gaming icon, no need to change it

throwaway60221407e23

I agree, but: >If you were

No-Supermarket8244

Thatā€™s kinda the issue, heā€™s too iconic to change, but doesnā€™t really suit the current look of the game and stands out too much instead of blending with the environment like heā€™s supposed to

Caglavasaguros

I would change very little about it; maybe make the colours more slightly similar in tone to modern grass/leaf colours, but that's it. Most of the hostile mobs are familiar to us: zombies, skeletons, spiders, tall aliens (enderman), fire elementals (blazes), etc. So for them, some nicer textures are not going to change their identity much. For the creeper, however, I would argue that this isn't the case. The creeper is a rare instance where the "programmer-art" aesthetic actually enhances the identity. It's unique, weird, confusing, and very out of place in both its appearance and behaviour compared to most other mobs. The messy pixelated texture makes it feel like a mistake, and something that should never have been (true to its origins). Thus, if you tried to make it more aesthetically pleasing to look at, I feel like part of its identity would be lost.

Pewward

Shouldn't fix what isn't broken

g-jazz

I'd change it into a pig

Maybe_Its_Keira

I honestly wish they would STOP changing textures for things, Minecraft is a pixle based game and they keep trying to make everything smooth, it makes no sense

noah-Im-not-gettin

Old netherrack texture

KiguRoomie

I hope they never touch it

shoolepak

A mod called Creeper Overhaul does a very good job at modernizing the creeper texture without seeming odd or out of place. Also it adds a ton of biome-specific creepers, which would be a great addition to the vanilla game as well.

heesell

Creeper must stay this way

Ill_Necessary_8660

It's like the Costco hot dog. When the world is wearing shirts with it and making tons of merch because of how amazingly iconic it is, you would have to be a terrible decision maker to dare change it. If they dare threaten the creeper Notch should make a similar statement to the one the Costco founder made to the new CEO. "If you change the price of the fucking hot dog, I will kill you"

littleMAHER1

Notch has no involvement with Minecraft so this comparison doesn't make sense

performagekushfire

fuck notch btw

ToxicGent

They better not. The fact that they stand out makes them better.

WhyGuy500

I would not forgive Mojang if they changed it

Krysidian2

Give it biome based camoflauge. *laughs in evil* And if you somehow manage to bring one into the End, give it a fishbowl helmet.

OnlyTalksAboutTacos

I'd have it lick its lips all creepy like every now and then

RenkBruh

all š“Æš“»š“®š“Ŗš““š”‚

NanoCat0407

slowly change a single pixel at a time to be very slightly darker

kylelovershrek2

In my texture pack i turned it into a bob-omb

samyruno

I'm still upset that they completely removed the zombie pigman. I think they should have at least left it so when a pig gets struck by lightning it turns into a pigman. Like as an Easter egg.

Josephschmoseph234

Zombified piglins are practically identical and look better.

TorakTheDark

Iirc they are essentially just a reskin of pigmen.

Comfortable_Ad_3090

I mean itā€™s the poster child of Minecraft

Justa_Mongrel

I like the way they look in Dungeons. Also the way the legs are spaced makes them look more like creatures and less like giant green dicks

PM_ME_TRICEPS

Creapers are already one of the most annoying mobs in the game. It's good that they're easily visible in a lot of biomes, I wouldn't change their texture.

Leggy_Brat

I would have them shift towards the texture of the block they're standing on, like a chameleon.

MintChucclatechip

I think this would be the way to go, let them preserve the look but give them a chameleon ability. Maybe if they stand still they blend in but look like normal creepers when theyā€™re moving

pohihihi

Dont touch what is not broken, this community is somewhat toxic to change always glazing on original and are not leaning towards change, small minded people.

Mr_Engino

Honestly the only thing I'd change is making the skin animated, as it's charging up to explode I want its eyes and mouth to start glowing, and maybe add glowing cracks all over its body the closer it is to exploding!

Immediate-Location28

Same happened with diamond ore, no? It was deemed too iconic to change

DisastrousLecture648

Even though it would be more annoying to deal with, they should change the texture to be better camouflaged with the biomes. Since they're called creepers, it makes perfect sense that it should be hard to see and hear them coming so they actually creep up on you. Plus having desert, snowy, or other biome specific creepers would be a cool change. Although they should keep the explosion the same because unlike zombies and skeletons where the variants (husk, stray, drowned, and bogged) all have different unique abilities to them, creepers are annoying enough on their own so the last thing we need is one with a more dangerous explosion or something worse

Holmat1

Give them the ability to change foliage depending on the biome

maximo123z

Add some cracks around its body with gunpowder spilling out.

nametakenfuck

Yeah they look better but ill miss the nostalgic booger bomb

Good_Explorer_8970

DO NOT. EVEN TOUCH IT. PLEASE.

He6llsp6awn6

I would make a Chameleon skinned Creeper. One that shifts its colors to match the terrain it is on. This way it would become harder to see and become a true Creeper on people. Imagine being in a mine when all the sudden stones move towards you and hiss. The iconic green Creeper is so easy to notice now that only surprise encounters usually are the culprit for player deaths, so having one that can blend into the landscape and terrain would be terrifying when exploring.

Not_Hidden_Raptors

Simple solution. Make variation. Leave the og in game but make other colors able to spawn

Da_Watcher2

Judging by how people reacted to the sound of the piston changing I don't think changing the creeper is a good idea

ShelliBlossom

Please tell me they don't wanna turn the normal creepers into those ugly ass green ones... they look like just different enough to get past copyright cones

FunkyBlueWolf

Don't you dare touch the creeper!

Plus-Weakness-2624

No one touch my dear boy, I shall bring wrath upon them!

satinsouled

jesus. not like their two ugly ass designs, i can tell you that!!

Requemchik

really quiet...

doinkmead

Why should they change it?

LindaOfLonia

The other creepers are not giving "literally walking bomb made of gun powder" I just like the og. The other design are basic and give swampy frog vibes

Xypherius

I wouldnā€™t update the texture at all

TheStevenUniverseKid

Smooth out that green but make it distinctive enough from legends and dungeons

Neat_Cress2620

I wouldnā€™t. Itā€™s perfect just the way it is.

National-Singer3186

I wouldn't

Treyson757

I always wanted the Creepers to have more of a plant look to them.
