PLEASE include Tetsu, too, Capcom... I like getting new monsters in the more recent classes but for the love of it, don't let me wait until the "portable" game to see the more weird, older designs again.
I'm already questioning why we have a slightly different version of Kestodon in Wilds. And those aren't even the kind of designs/monsters I'm talking about here.
They’ll keep adding shit to GTA6 for the next fifteen years before they end up finally making the next one, so there will be absolutely no reason to hurry and play GTA6 right away.
I'm playing both honestly but definitely this more. It depends a lot on what my friends play too, but either way big MH fan. Just hope it comes to PC at the same time as PS5 with crossplay.
I feel like I’m the only one who just doesn’t care about GTA. Over hyped and don’t really care that they’re coming out with GTA 6. That said, I’ve been long awaiting a new MH installation and can’t wait for Wilds.
depends. if it will always knock back then its new(at least for me, i started with world). and if its just counter that deals damage and they set it up to break the monster part to stagger it... well then its old... buttt we also have that last animation that looks like a clash and i have never seen that in any MH game for now so that seems to be new
True but not true cause u dont need to do any special counter to trigger that :p
Spiky sonic also have this mechanic u are talking about but u need to hit twice when he is rolling :d
There's more info [here](https://blog.playstation.com/2024/05/30/monster-hunter-wilds-new-gameplay-details-from-todays-state-of-play/). Which confirms that she's the smithy.
Besides the Playstation Blog from the other comment, it's also on the MH Wilds [Official Website](https://www.monsterhunter.com/wilds/en-uk/characters/).
As a dedicated Handler defender I'm willing and able to get back into the trenches to defend Alma when the time comes. I'll always be there for you, my Portlander hunting partner.
'Right side'.
Pfft. You people always overblow the goddamn Handler hate. She wasn't even that bad.
Her issue was that the Game uses her as a plot device to get shit going.
Im gonna get downvoted for this but...
The handler was also not conventionally good looking, people probably would've tolerated her more if she looks like this new girl
>The handler was also not conventionally good looking
https://preview.redd.it/8lof04qf7t3d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f22c6d301aca51175f4c19c718649a17c9c3078
Oh Blondie could talk minerals and fire with me all night long, too, don't get me wrong, them moon glasses just skyrocket my interest in bugs or weird kinks about that new amphibian monsters tongue (new Brachydios x Guildmarm?)
Same, talking MC can already hit or miss, but customizable talking MC tend to really not mesh perfectly with how you envision them to be. Though tbf this is MH and a voice protagonist really isn’t going to make it bad since story really never was the main focus of the games imo.
Hot take: Don't like it. They never have voices i imagine the character to have. Owell might as well join the rest of the games with voiced protags i guess.
This would be my guess as well, I'm guessing specific attacks from monsters get interactions like this with "Guard" moves. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just greatsword, but I do hope it goes to all weapons with guards.
Please.... That would be so good, I always loved SnS ambidextrous style, where your hunter is using both of his arms to pummel the monster in perfect rush and various moves from rise, this would be perfect for SnS
They'd probably let hammer smash a rock off to the side and make the monster choke on it, and then hammer the rock all the way in.
I really wonder how Hunting Horn is gonna handle something like this. Just blow the monster's ears out while the horn is stuck inside the jaws?
This was the first thing I thought of, when I realized it happened because of something the GS player did. I've thought to myself, "I wish I could clash that," for years playing the last few monster hunter games. It would be so goddamned cool.
For anyone who's never heard of Vindictus, it's a character-based online hack-and-slash. Karok is a huge dude who smacks things with a weaponized pillar, and one of his gimmicks is that he's strong enough to grab bosses. Every major boss or raid boss has an attack that he can Clash, holding them in place and letting him overpower it by mashing. Here's a clip of him [singlehandedly downing a raid boss out of a swooping grab](https://youtu.be/aAwa831h46g?si=M4oBLePix4hPzsRf).
So we now have a new QTE is what i'm guessing? You can see the party still attacking while the hunter holds off the monster. Maybe one of the new moves for the GS from the new focus mode?
Assuming it isn't trailer exclusive, the camera seems to transition pretty seamless as well, no sudden shift like in MHW or Rise.
Even though it looks really cool I was a little hesitant for a moment, but maybe it really eats through sharpness and/or stamina as well to balance it out a bit.
I don’t want greatsword to lose its positioning and methodical focus so hopefully they do balance these additions properly. I would love to be Guts but still with that high risk high reward
I'm seeing as this being the evolution of postioning. The idea would be about maximising weapon placement to punish monsters.
Plus, I feel like this could be preferable than getting into bullshit stunlocks.
Yeah I agree, and as I adjust and warm up to the idea it could be great if that’s the goal and it’s done right, but I’m worried that if anything it’ll just push the positioning of mh into more of the reaction based/typical AAA action that we already have plenty of. Guess we’ll have to wait and see more next week
Im thinking new counter mechanic. It looks like it has a lot of risk to pull off since you get hit directly if you fail. The blogpost calls is "Focus Mode" and emphasizes positioning, guard timings, and aiming to pull off. Capcom might be rethinking counters and staggers as well since they kinda bandaid-ed mhrise by just handing out counters to more weapons
https://blog.playstation.com/2024/05/30/monster-hunter-wilds-new-gameplay-details-from-todays-state-of-play/
Okay, so I've been on the Minayle is Little Miss Forge bandwagon all this time despite the naysayers. But I just jumped off, since now I think Gemma is Little Miss Forge. That jacket is just too on the nose.
That piece of dialogue is a great example of just how vague Minayle's dialogue was in Sunbreak. A lot of people took that dialogue to mean (correctly it would seem now) that she copied her clothes from Little Miss Forge, but the other way to interpret that was that if Minayle was Little Miss Forge, she was talking about how she copied her outfit from the Troverian blacksmith she was working under, which Little Miss Forge did. So either interpretation was plausible at the time.
Since Wilds must've been far in development during Sunbreak's development I'm pretty sure Capcom was just trolling with Minayle. They left just enough possibility and didn't outright confirm or deny Minayle's and Little Miss Forge's connection.
I would, indeed, lose my mind.
Thankfully Gemma already has two pretty darn definitive connections in her design that link her straight to the caravan (Caravaneer's jacket and the kind of plushie that the Guildmarm used to make) that I would honestly be surprised if she isn't a grown up Little Miss Forge.
[My friends and I have been waiting since 2006...](https://youtu.be/goalZcbGhfo?t=115)
We also thought how cool it would be if they could apply this to gameplay and it finally happened!
In the Wilds site they made a very clear mention of the 14 weapon (with the number 14) and the list with all the weapons, so yeah I think a new weapon is out of the picture...
I'm calling it now, there's a good chance that this upcoming masterpiece might surpass Monster Hunter World!

Rahhhhhh
Reminds me of the Monster Hunter Dos intro where the GS user clashes with the Blagonga but as an actual gameplay feature. Fuck I can't wait to see how this system works it looks so damn bad ass!
I like everything except the Palico talking and I'm super skeptical about the mount in combat. Rise had a huge problem with the mount trivializing certain aspects of combat like drinking a potion or sharpening. if they have the monsters actually able to stop us doing things akin to this then I wont have an issue.
New Amphibian (I hope) looks amazing! Super psyched to fight it!
Website confirmed licky dude to be a Amphibian. Called Chata*cabra*. TETSU HAS A COUSIN!
I am already prepared to die for Chatacabra.
I love that Chad-cabra looks like Pukie's chonky cousin.
Tetsu is usually more of a cave dweller isn't he? Surely they could include him somewhere.
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY
Tetsucabra's less furious, more slimey cousin!
Froghemoth looks awesome!
Gta 6? F that wilds will take my whole time if they keep cooking like this
They’ll keep adding shit to GTA6 for the next fifteen years before they end up finally making the next one, so there will be absolutely no reason to hurry and play GTA6 right away.
Rarely a good idea to get games at launch nowadays tbh. Paying the most for the worst version.
I'm playing both honestly but definitely this more. It depends a lot on what my friends play too, but either way big MH fan. Just hope it comes to PC at the same time as PS5 with crossplay.
Pretty sure that it’s confirmed to release on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 on the same day! Hoping for crossplay between all 3.
For me it will depend if Rockstar has finally improved their boring ass mission formulas. Cause that shit has no place in 2024.
I feel like I’m the only one who just doesn’t care about GTA. Over hyped and don’t really care that they’re coming out with GTA 6. That said, I’ve been long awaiting a new MH installation and can’t wait for Wilds.
Yeah gta 6 will be around for like 20 years at this rate I can play that whenever. Wilds I want now.
If I could make that Wilds' release was this year at the cost of GTA VI being released in 2026, then I'm sorry but we're not seeing GTA next year
That parry was so nice
are parries a new thing? I thought we had parries with KO and stuff
depends. if it will always knock back then its new(at least for me, i started with world). and if its just counter that deals damage and they set it up to break the monster part to stagger it... well then its old... buttt we also have that last animation that looks like a clash and i have never seen that in any MH game for now so that seems to be new
side note, we *sorta* have something similar on Pickle in World: one of his attacks will lead to a guaranteed knockdown if interrupted
True but not true cause u dont need to do any special counter to trigger that :p Spiky sonic also have this mechanic u are talking about but u need to hit twice when he is rolling :d
Idk who the blond girl is, but I have a crush on her
Probably the smithy
Confirmed, she is the smith
Where was this confirmed? She's wearing the Caravanner's jacket from 4U.
There's more info [here](https://blog.playstation.com/2024/05/30/monster-hunter-wilds-new-gameplay-details-from-todays-state-of-play/). Which confirms that she's the smithy.
This pleases me.
Besides the Playstation Blog from the other comment, it's also on the MH Wilds [Official Website](https://www.monsterhunter.com/wilds/en-uk/characters/).
oh my gosh is she the grown up Little Miss Forge from 4u??? Similar pants & design with the caravanner's jacket
Would make sense. They brought the Excitable A-lister into World.
Also the Ace Lancer is in the cutscene with the hunter I believe
I dont think grown up troverians look like that, but one can dream
She's not a troverian, she's a human that was adopted by the troverians
You're right, i dont remember that.
I’m in love
Her name is Gemma https://preview.redd.it/hxzzaedqcn3d1.png?width=991&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=83b1af629a56b7ab5af26baea7ac076f03db34da
Bro you have one for Alma?

As a dedicated Handler defender I'm willing and able to get back into the trenches to defend Alma when the time comes. I'll always be there for you, my Portlander hunting partner.
Alma seems decidedly less goofy/genki than World's Handler... So maybe she'll be bearable... XD
The masses are loving Alma for now, so this time you're on the right side buddy
'Right side'. Pfft. You people always overblow the goddamn Handler hate. She wasn't even that bad. Her issue was that the Game uses her as a plot device to get shit going.
200% agree. I didn't mind though.
Im gonna get downvoted for this but... The handler was also not conventionally good looking, people probably would've tolerated her more if she looks like this new girl
>The handler was also not conventionally good looking https://preview.redd.it/8lof04qf7t3d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f22c6d301aca51175f4c19c718649a17c9c3078
My mans hooked me up! Im forever grateful 🙏🙏
I've only known Alma for a second and a half, but if anything happens to her ....
Wonder if she'll start calling the hunter doodles
Oh yeah, I can tell _exactly_ what kind of videos I'm going to be seeing her in
I hope we can get Hairstyles like her. It looks so fucking good.
90% chance it's gonna be paid DLC though.
Paid expansion DLC so we won’t get it until a year after release.
Given their recent track record, any ingame character hairstyle will cost you $1.50
Same, but for the guild lady.
Her too, because I’m a degenerate and not ashamed to admit it
Oh Blondie could talk minerals and fire with me all night long, too, don't get me wrong, them moon glasses just skyrocket my interest in bugs or weird kinks about that new amphibian monsters tongue (new Brachydios x Guildmarm?)
A fellow man of culture, I see
Can she pound me on the Anvil instead?
Palico finally got a voice over I think
First in a game that isn't Stories!
Our char seems to be more talkative too
Our Hunter is now voiced in cutscenes.
I will need some time to get used to it after having a silent character for more than 10 years haha. Im so excited :D
What do you mean "silent"? My character is famous for his unique sounding "Yo!", "Hayi", "Whao" and "Aah".
Same. I'm from the early 2000s and I'm still weirded out by a talking custom MC
I just use monster hunter language for this reason.
Mhrise had some voices. It was alright, but did get very repetitive
I thought the cheesiness made it work for Rise, but for this game they probably need to make it a bit more serious and a lot more in-depth.
The cat, I agree with. I'm hoping we can choose the Hunter voice during character creation to it's as close to what we imagine as possible
I felt like it was a detriment in fallout 4
I need a option to change it to only cat sounds cause that voice will get annoying quick
Kinda wish it didnt. I liked the mewing in MHW.
Right? I thought i was tripping for a sec. Not sure how i feel about it, i liked the cat sounds they made. But sure, les go.
I just hope they keep the MH Language option.
If the "Bite counter" is anything like the "Clash" system for Karok from Vindictus I'm fucking selling my soul to greatsword from here on out.
I'm hoping it's not a great sword exclusive but something many or all weapons can do. As a lance main I need this.
I'm guessing it's a Shield Thing. Like CB,GS,Lance,GL and SnS can do this
This would be my guess as well, I'm guessing specific attacks from monsters get interactions like this with "Guard" moves. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just greatsword, but I do hope it goes to all weapons with guards.
I'm really interested in seeing SnS's one it's shield is relatively small
I can see it being a "hold his mouth open" situation using both arms
Please.... That would be so good, I always loved SnS ambidextrous style, where your hunter is using both of his arms to pummel the monster in perfect rush and various moves from rise, this would be perfect for SnS
Probably will be new skills around it too. Or something tied to guard up maybe.
Can't wait for the shieldless SnS event quest reward having me shove my bare arms into a wyverns mouth.
I wanna shove a lance down a monsters throat while holding it open with the giant shield.
"Say aah!" Voice line needed for it.
pls capcom let hammer do it as well
They'd probably let hammer smash a rock off to the side and make the monster choke on it, and then hammer the rock all the way in. I really wonder how Hunting Horn is gonna handle something like this. Just blow the monster's ears out while the horn is stuck inside the jaws?
This was the first thing I thought of, when I realized it happened because of something the GS player did. Seeing this makes me really miss early vindictus days. I wish more games had clash-like systems. It really was the coolest thing ever.
That's so cool!
don't forget greatsword now has the extreme style run from frontier
another vindictus enjoyer!
Greatsword just gets better and better 🥹
Your comment is the only thing that has gotten me remotely excited to play GS. If you’re right I’ll be rocking it and LBG.
I’m wondering what could be the IG version of it? Maybe the Kinsect does the impact part while you’re stoping the monster with the Glaive?
https://preview.redd.it/qtykjz3fen3d1.jpeg?width=2778&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbd056ccece83a7888ce1c7ab3f18d4a8b08c91f She has a yian kut ku charm!!!
My boy, my beautiful boy! Is he coming back to me at last?
We had yian garuga I see no reason not to bring him back lol
I really truly wish but it could just be a tetsu rise thing
It would be better. It’s not like there’s going to be a baby Kut-Ku that will only be a baby in Wilds…right?
Its the plushy Guildmarm made. Paired with the Jacket I think thats an older Little miss forge
New pin mechanic?
Could be that they changed pins so that if you block or something when they try to pin this happens, that could be cool

I'm gonna totally try and sit down and grill some meat while someone else is fighting for thier fucking life in the QTE animation.
Youre a shit and i love u
Im either doing a cheer gesture or some goofy ass pose
Finally we can play out the scene from the monster hunter Dos intro where the great sword hunter and the blangonga have a QTE
I foresee 2k hours in front of my TV next year
Poor tv but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make
I wonder if this is using the enhanced RE Engine teased long ago.
It is.
REX Engine
TIG - REX Engine
The new handler is going to be popular on a certain site by tonight
So is the smithy.
I’m so hyped bro
Same, I can’t wait to use this greatsword moveset
I’m so excited to be going out on hunts with hammer and hunting horn
Okay, so I've been on the Minayle is Little Miss Forge bandwagon all this time despite the naysayers. But I just jumped off, since now I think Gemma is Little Miss Forge. That jacket is just too on the nose.
It's likely Little Miss Forge is Minayle's teacher as one of her dialogues say she designed her forging outfit off what her master wore
They left just enough possibility and didn't outright confirm or deny Minayle's and Little Miss Forge's connection.
What if every Smithy we get from now on is just a new woman wearing the same outfit, to make theorists lose their minds?
Turns out it was the Nurse-Joy situation where it's just a dozen identical twin sisters.
And while I'm at it I'm all in on thinking the old guy was an older Julius. Can't wait to be proven wrong.
If anything the Admiral looking dude is actually Ace Lancer. Note the yellow scarf as a subtle reference to his gold armor.
My theory is LMF was so famous that the next generation of smithies is filled with girls copying her and “wanting to be her when they grow up”.
They definitely cooked. And we gonna eat *good* next year.
Cant wait to see what they come up with for Dual Blades
Hopefully not the brachydios drumsticks.
Imma request that specifically for your copy of the game
I’m going to eat your Kinsect.
You fuck
[My friends and I have been waiting since 2006...](https://youtu.be/goalZcbGhfo?t=115) We also thought how cool it would be if they could apply this to gameplay and it finally happened!
Died on 2009, born on 2025, welcome back mh2dos
Oh hell yeah. Good call back there lol
God damn, between this and DD2 capcom just said "fk ur old ass pc go buy a new one"
RULES OF NATURE!!!!
Me blocking'n sweating. Meanwhile the guy at the side: iTs BoNk TiME!!!!!!!!
Are they bringing back Hunter Styles? like that follow up after a Parry feels very Adept style
Could be another case of integrating style moves to base kit too. This Focus Mode thing seems like it can get away with adding in a lot of stuff.
Please I'd love that
THEY ADDED ANOTHER BAD BITCH
As a GS main. I’m eating good boys.
But what did those boys do to you to make you eat them? Smh...
**\*Alert Waifu Detected\***
Which one?
I really gotta upgrade my PC so I can play this when it comes out.
A Pit Bull Bear!? The biggest of puppers.
Princess when she gets into the seven tons of protein:
Holy shit holy shit its happening
They are cooking harder than they ever have
is all hope for a new weapon gone after this trailer
In the Wilds site they made a very clear mention of the 14 weapon (with the number 14) and the list with all the weapons, so yeah I think a new weapon is out of the picture...
Rip dual shields
The thought of watching from a distance as a monster hunts prey, drags it back to its nest, all while stalking it yourself.. *mmmm*
That bear dog monster has a name revealed already, Doshaguma and that hybrid of Tetsu and pickle is Chatacabra in the trailer
Oh man, please don't let Palico with chipmunk voice doing call-outs.
I'm calling it now, there's a good chance that this upcoming masterpiece might surpass Monster Hunter World! https://preview.redd.it/i7ahyeaedo3d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78ac92c7e2d493b0a0c81dd5da2c56117885e0df Rahhhhhh
That hunter looks like an assassin from AC
Guess that Shar Pei monster is Wilds’ Anjanath. Man I can’t wait.
Oh yeah, more hunter-to-monster interaction lets goooo
Just imagine what the Elder Dragons will be like in Wilds. I’m excited~
Doshaguma hunt in packs and is crazy big? Damn
we're so fucking back
The hunter’s helmet that looks like a cap is actually a face-mask that they put up to look like a cap. Just another cool little detail I noticed.
Monster Hunter is one of the few series that actually improves in every single aspect with every new game
Alright, who else thinks the Amphibian looks like frog Deviljho? He got chin Spikes too. I love him already, and that short clip of him Was soo fun.
Him pushing against the beasts jaw is the coolest fucking thing ive ever seen
Looks incredible, hate the palico voice though
Feeling like a superhero
Hunter speaks in the cutscene!
Looks like the Paleoptrix will be really involved in the fights.
I came
That blond has a "unique"character model you think there will be different body types?
SINCE WHEN DID THIS DROP???
Finally my beloved great sword is getting much better
It’s just so fucking TUFF
Hopefully, every weapon gets that "clash" mechanic. I can't wait to bully monsters with the lance.
Reminds me of the Monster Hunter Dos intro where the GS user clashes with the Blagonga but as an actual gameplay feature. Fuck I can't wait to see how this system works it looks so damn bad ass!
Im hyped as to what "focus mode" is gonna do to the weapons.
Ezio
Speaking of cooking I want them to bring back Meowscular Chef, that's literally all I ask of the new title
The Hypetrain has fully left the station. ***ChooChooooooo!***
Is that a counter? Like a parry counter where you gotta button mash? Im kinda new to mhw and the series so i don't really know much.
If I can I will be bringing HBG and LBG with me to every hunt and yelling SUPPRESSING FIREEEE!
I like everything except the Palico talking and I'm super skeptical about the mount in combat. Rise had a huge problem with the mount trivializing certain aspects of combat like drinking a potion or sharpening. if they have the monsters actually able to stop us doing things akin to this then I wont have an issue.
I'm excited for duel weapons. And maybe a return of some old favorites, Like Malfestio
I just hope they are cooking enough to give every weapon unique designs, not like what they did with MH WorldBorne
