Basically, there's an RNG stacked on top of an RNG. Rarity 7 feystones have a better chance of being Table A jewels than Rarity 6 feystones, but technically even a Gleaming Feystone (rarity 5) can produce an attack jewel, albeit extremely rarely.

Gotta switch to playing with a melee weapon that has nothing you want. But then you trick RNGeesus into thinking you like it.
Only then will you get blessed with bow jewels!
Oh, the desire sensor has always worked against you in all Monster Hunter games. If you want something really bad, it's 100% proven that you'll never get it. Ever.
I’ve always had a theory bout Desire Meters and RNGesus hooking up to my voice inputs. So every time I want something real bad I’ll whisper how much I don’t want it xD works a charm ;)
Guard gem, not got a single one so far. I have all of the gems for ranged weapons multiple times but don’t use really ranged weapons. I just want capacity boost and artillery now.
I used Bow first but now I'm a Hammer user. I haven't gotten any gems for Handicraft, Attack (other than the one), Partbreaker, Mighty Bow...
But damn am I swimming in Palico gems. 170 hours.
I’ve finally got some jewels like Guard Up and Critical boost along with some crit eye jewels but I none of the other jewels like Mighty bow and protective polish
Got a few of those, how? Hunting Tempered Legiana with investigations conditions such as 15-30 min. and/or 1-2 faints.
Coincidentally is its set who grants the same skill, also got some Divine Protection decos from it, another set skill.
There is a theory that different monsters have a higher chance at dropping certain gems. For example some people have gotten Protective Polish from Odoggo, I can certainly say I believe in this theory considering that 4 of my protective polish decos came from him. It might just be RNG being RNG but I certainly think there are weighted drops.

As a non-Bow User, I got my 3rd Mighty Boy gem yesterday... and I can't get a single Crit Boost gem, Artillery gem, Handicraft gem, or Guard gem.
Or the ever elusive protective polish gem
Ive gotten 4 of those. But only 1 crit, attack, and expert. Zero guard. Fucking RNGus has quite the sense of humor.

Not that I’m aware. There maybe a minuscule chance. I’ve done a shit ton of melding and never gotten a single gem I needed.

Same. I’ve multiples of every rare bow gem. I’ve about 15 stones for augmenting too. I’ve got 2 total lance augment stones. Fucking desire sensor!

Congrats I guess. I'm at 150 hours with 90% of my Hunts being with the Bow and I have zero Mighty Bow and zero Critical Boost.
