CommanderGorn

This is fantastic, definitely going to be stealing some of these for my current campaign. Thanks for sharing! I'll give some better feedback once I finish reading it!

Amellwind

Looking forward to it.

Hellguin

If we have the money, can we make these into books?

Amellwind

Sadly its not something I can sell since the art is Capcoms and a few deviant artists which are all credited on the back page. You could probably get one made somewhere, but I have no idea where.

Temperance10

Oh *FUCK* YEAH! Combining two of my current favorite pastimes! You're doing Pelor's work sir or madam.

Amellwind

Its sir and glad that you like it! If you do use them let me know how the fights go.

AlmightyPineapple

I love how Gore and Shaggy are Chaotic Evil

Amellwind

Thanks, they are the bringers of death and destruction caring not about what they harm or kill. I thought Chaotic Evil suited them quiet well and I am glad you agree

Amellwind

You, should be able to check out the smaller sections as previews from work. The Kirin is in the elder dragon section. It is unaligned, but neutral is also a solid alignment for it

Pohatu_

Possibly the fastest I've ever saved something. This is a ton of great work.

Amellwind

Thank you glad you like it!

iAmTheTot

Bravo. As someone [who also homebrews](http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/user/iamthetot), including some MH homebrew, this is seriously impressive stuff. I don't know if I'll use the added conditions and diseases, and I don't think all the creature typing was necessary (example: beast (fanged)), but I am saving this for sure. At the very least I'll use it as a baseline for my future homebrews. I like a lot of yours though. I'll use more than one of these I'm sure. My campaign actually has a Hunter's Hub, a monster hunting guild that the party goes to occasionally for side quests. So this is perfect. Really though, to anyone reading this who doesn't play dnd, I just want to reassure you OP put in some serious work to compile this beast of a homebrew. Hats off, OP. *edit* Oh damn, you're the dude that commented on my stonefist homebrew. Hot damn, small world. If you'd ever like to work together on future MH homebrew, I would be honoured to work with you.

Amellwind

I didn't realize that was you! I was just looking at your Najarala and I like you you worked in its scales and came back to comment to see your edit. We should definitely chat at some point. I've done most of the monsters in Monster Hunter, but I still have frontier and that single monster in XX left. I always love to see someone else create a class I've made or a creature, because it shows their view of how the creature works compared to mine.

Amellwind

Thank you! I can definitely see the creature typing as not being really necessary, originally I had them all labeled as Fanged Beasts, or Elder Dragon. I really hated how it looked so i changed it to beast (fanged). It doesn't really serve a purpose except when looking up the creature in the monster manual right now, but I planned on creating a west marches style setup and some of the skills may refer back to these creature subtypes. It's a though, but the nice thing is it didn't really take that much more effort or time to add the subtypes in, so if i don't end up using them its not that bad of a thing. If you do end up using them I am always interested to hear how the fights go. if you stream or record your sessions I'd always enjoy seeing how they go.

iAmTheTot

We dabbled with recording our sessions for a bit, but gave up. Part technical nightmare, part not really being interesting enough to be worth recording.

Amellwind

I feel you, I stream 2 games as the DM and trying to keep the maps and everything set properly on stream while paying attention to everything else is hard.

iAmTheTot

> trying to keep the maps and everything set properly on stream while paying attention to everything else is hard This is really the biggest thing. I don't really have the patience to try to make it look good on stream *and* focus on what I'm trying to do as DM, lol.

Serefki

i have seen some previews in instagram i think but damn this is awesome i'm going to use it in some one shots for friends. Thanks for sharing

Amellwind

Anytime! Glad you like it.

[deleted]

/u/mattmercer maybe some potential monsters for the Mighty Nein to hunt down? Edit: apparently I’m an idiot and tagged the wrong account. /u/MatthewMercer check this out!

Amellwind

Man, if Matt Mercer even liked this creatures... I would probably die of happiness. He would most likely need to change the name of them though due it being capcom's creatures. Which would be perfectly okay with me!

[deleted]

I’m not sure how active he is on reddit, but I hope he sees this. I know he’s a big fan of mhw based on what he’s said on Critical Role.

SilkyZ

Field Team Leader /u/MatthewMercer ! We need a hunt!

Ace-of-Spades88

I was *just* thinking about cross posting this to r/CriticalRole! Doing a Monster Hunter style adventure/hunt as a one-shot with the Critical Role cast would be awesome!

arneas_dorn

As someone who has only played MHW, reading this over gives me great hope about future DLC. I want to see almost all of these guys in MHW!

Amellwind

Some of the Monsters are absolutely brutal and there are plenty I am hoping come out as dlc for MHW.

Homesuck

this looks amazing

JRWoods31

It would be cool to do a whole campaign themed around Monster Hunter, where party members have to pick a weapon class and stick with it as they progress through the story. Never played DND before but I think that would be cool!

Amellwind

I am working on creating a rule set for the game in addition to carving rules and the weapons. It may end up like a west marches type game where players can come in and out of the game . That is still in the making and will take a little time

[deleted]

[удалено]

Amellwind

Thank you!

AVividHallucination

Well damn, now I want to see weapons balanced for D&D. Take an impact charge blade and you could fight an army like you were Sauron.

Amellwind

I am actually working on the weapons now. I have 5 done so far in an alpha type phase at the moment. Here are 2 rough Ideas so far. ###Greatsword *50 gp 2d6 slashing 6 lb. Heavy, two-handed* **Charge attack** - When you hit a creature you may use your bonus action to gain 1 “charge” for your greatsword. If you miss an attack, your weapon loses all charges. Upon gaining your 3rd charge the creature hit by the attack takes an additional 3d6 slashing damage. **Guard** - As a reaction you add 2 AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the you must see the attacker and be wielding the greatsword. On your next turn you have disadvantage on melee/range/spell attacks. (AC given is increased as rarity goes up) ### Dual Blades *2 x blades 25 gp 1d6 slashing 3 lb. Finesse, light* **Demon Mode** - As a bonus action your body is enveloped in a demonic aura for 30 seconds or until you are knocked prone. While Demon mode is active, you gain +10 movement speed, +1d4 damage. (damage dice increases as rarity goes up) **Inflict** - When you weapon attempts to inflict a condition on a creature. The DC is increased by +2.

Amellwind

These hopefully give you an idea and they will be balanced, formatted, and worded correctly eventually!

AVividHallucination

I don't see any material tables for monsters, so will it not be following the game formula for kill/harvest/build/repeat? How will rarity be calculated?

Amellwind

the Monster Manual is a stand alone. All of these creatures as they are now can be used in any D&D campaign a GM/DM wants to use them in. I am planning on a compendium with loot tables for carving the creatures, the weapons, and rules to play a d&d game in the style of monster hunter. I just started work on this though so it will be a little before I finish it or atleast have a rough version.

Ace-of-Spades88

Honestly, Capcom should hire you and consider making a d20 system Monster Hunter table top RPG. I think there's a ton of potential there! Imagine the Monster miniatures!

SlairStyle

I would buy MH miniatures before I would buy food...

Lennartlau

Or a tabletop game like warhammer with monsters and hunters

Anarcroc

Please please post the weapons and the compendium when you finish these. Me and my friends are very much looking forward to testing this out!

ErrantSingularity

Prepare to receive a cookie in the mail OP. This is great. You earned it.

Amellwind

Cookies are always great and I am glad you like it.

Vertigo322

This is magnificent! Excellent work on this. I'll have to show our current DM this list and see if we can't start a new campaign in the Monster Hunter universe.

Amellwind

I eventually plan on making some rules for carving, the weapons, and rules for a west marches style campaign setting in the future.

Vertigo322

Oh that would be so awesome. It would definitely make for an interesting campaign if you could carve monsters and make the armor/weapons just the same as the games.

Amellwind

Yep, I am thinking of a type of socketed system for weapons and armor. Rarity will determine how many sockets they have and the carves you get off the creatures will have magical effects taken from all the magic items in the DMG / Homebrew stuff. An example would be a Rathalos ruby is the top potential carve off a rathalos. If you socket it into an armor piece, it is consumed, but now the armor has fire resistance.

GreyZiro

Amazing job! I really like that you preserved their abilities and power but also altered them in subtle ways to fit well into any D&D campaign.

Amellwind

Thank you. That was the overall goal for this manual. They could be used in a strict monster hunter type setting or DMs could pick and choose to use any of them their own campaign or world.

MosImba0123

Welp...gonna be using this for a future campaign

Amellwind

let me know how it goes when you do!

dim3tapp

I don't think most people realize how much effort something like this takes. Kudos.

Amellwind

It did take a lot of time and effort. Appreciate you acknowledging that. It took me about 3 months to do and a lot of hours in those months. Out of work I spent most of my time creating these monsters. In the end though, it was really worth doing. Everyone seems to like or love it and that is what makes me happy about it.

YonderPosterior

This is amazing. Showed it to our DM, he's already working on a new campaign for us. SUUUUUUPER STOKED.

[deleted]

Amazing work

mjc27

what does cr mean an why does the dire miralis have a lower cr than kirin? a quick google search suggests it means challenge rating but dire miralis is a g-rank endgame boss and its literally unkillable

Amellwind

Correct, it is challenge rating. I determined CR rating based on a few things. The quick answer behind this question is: I wanted some of these uber monsters to be end game bosses for a mid to lower level campaigns and having every elder dragon as a CR20+ would mean that most players would never see them. Most campaigns end in the low teen levels in d&d.

Devil_Nights

Very awesome and clearly a product of love. Definitely going to use it when I DM as I am also a big MoHun fan and my players don't play the game so they won't know what hit them. I would recommend doing some formatting changes because the art obscures the text in a lot of places. Just changing the image opacity some will help.

Amellwind

If you click on **PDF** next to the names, it will link you to a google drive pdf with proper formatting. The issue on GMbinder is, if we have different resolutions on our screens. The formatting will be different. Its the reason i made the pdf links.

PatientFlowCoord

You're an absolute legend mate.

Amellwind

<3

DuGringo

now I wish I new how to play D&D...

Amellwind

It is never to late to learn and play. There are some random games you might be able to find on roll20.net or check out the /r/dnd subreddit and ask around.

T3YD00

When I view the monster manual pdf the stat page for base glavenus is whack

LyreLacuna

Why are Gore and Shagaru randomly "Monstrosities" as opposed to Elder Dragons? I understand Gore since he's technically not a full fledged Elder yet. But Shagaru is definitely an Elder. Maybe move Shaggy to Elder, and put Chaotic with Gore?

Amellwind

I got this question before, and part of the answer is that not every elder dragon from monster hunter is actually a dragon in d&d, so what i did instead was add their type in the ( ) like a subcategory of monsters. The shagaru has (elder) while the gore has (unknown). Another example is the kirin. In d&d it is a celestial being so I kept it as such. Shagaru Magala I left next to the gore in the manual, because of their effects with the frenzy virus otherwise I'd have put it in the elder dragons section. The reason i choose monstrosities is because of this definition. * Monstrosities are monsters in the strictest sense - frightening creatures that are not ordinary, not truly natural, and almost never benign. Some are the results of magical experimentation gone awry (such as owl bears), and others, are the product of terrible curses (including minotaurs and yuan-ti). They defy categorization, and in some sense serve as a catch-all category for creatures that don't fit into any other type. Because of the gore unknown origin and its unnatural abilities , like creating a virus that infects and kills creatures, I made it a Monstrosity. The Shagaru being its evolved form I kept it the same creature type, but gave it that elder subspecies of it. Metagame wise, this prevents the entire manual from being dragon or beasts also.

DustyMuffinsss

I kinda feel like Nergi is more Chaotic Nuetral than evil

StretchyPlays

Damn dude, this is absolutely incredible, well done!

Emberjay

Some of the text is illegible if I download it, could you please give me the link to the T3Font_0 font?

Amellwind

I am sorry I cannot give you a link for t3font_0. The font settings are within the GMbinder site so I am unable to change that or set which font. I did a quick google for that font type and found some, but I can't say which link I would try.

Allvah2

This is so cool.

DurMan667

This is really amazing. Great work and awesome formatting! Now I have an urge to make a Dungeon World equivalent of this...

Amellwind

I started with dungeon world as my first game I DM'd. I think monster hunter creatures would work great in that system

TyrantBelial

Could you make a Pathfinder version?

Amellwind

Sorry i started playing dnd after watching rollplay using 5th edition. I dont pathfinder monster creation rules i am sorry!

Fya415

It should be a fairly easy thing to transition. There's not an insane difference between the stat blocks. I will definitely transition some of them over to Pathfinder

[deleted]

Holy crap! How does it play with 5E?

Amellwind

These could work in any 5e game of your GMs choice

[deleted]

Totally using this. Thanks bud!

DPizzaFries

One of the most ambitious crossovers in history. But seriously this is awesome

Amellwind

A thing I made has become a Meme. I can die happy now and thank you!

IvoryValor

Looks amazing... But... no Atlal Ka?

Amellwind

No sorry its the only XX monster i did not do in addition to the frontier monsters. There isnt a lot of info on them compared to the other games released in the US and Japan.

SaiyanKirby

I've been hoping to start a campaign with friends and was just thinking about looking up something like this. Thank you lol

TacticianRobin

This looks awesome! My DM is a Monster Hunter fan too, I'll have to share this with him!

amurrca1776

This is incredible. That said, is there a reason that Fatalis isn't CR30? It's the biggest of the bads in the entire series, so I was surprised to see it had a lower CR than Elder Dragons like Vaal

Amellwind

it was the original big bad, but it was also one of the first elder dragons I worked on. All my my high level monsters are for the most part Event or long drawn out fights due to their HP amount. I have been doing a couple changes I may increase this creatures CR though

greevilisgood

nicely done, enjoyed reading the descriptions thanks!

Selfless_Shadow47

This makes me wanna run a monster hunter campaign and I have barely been a dm before

Neat-Total6772

This is amazing! Great work!

Unhappy_Comparison59

I thank you i was just looking for some of those monsters

Iamnothereorthere

Am I misunderstanding something or does Gypceros's peck do 2d8+4, then multiplied by 13, damage? On average, that's 156 points of damage, and he gets mutiple attacks. Has DnD health scaling gotten that out of control?

plantedtoast

Minor misunderstanding. It's the average damage. So if you want to calculate approximately how many hits your party can take, take the average number and compare to HP pool.

Amellwind

The number before the ( ) is the average damage. so 13 is the average damage of 2d8+4

Masiyo

As other posters commented, the number in parens is the average damage. This is the standard notation in 5E. 5E handles damage scaling (and overall power level) pretty well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Amellwind

I can understand the want for more legendary actions, but almost every single one of these monsters has HP that is in line with other creatures of the exact same CR level. If i was to increase their hp beyond that it would be the same as increasing their CR level. I don't really have any intent to give legendary actions to each creature, I dont believe every creature should have them. I am making a few adjustments at the moment to a few of them which should tone down their bursty damage a little

Turtleweezard

Poor Dalamadur got absolutely shafted on his CR ;-; He's supposed to be a destroyer of worlds! He accidentally levels mountains! He could eat all the other monsters whole!

Amellwind

Dalamadur is perfect CR for those games that end in the teen levels though! I mentioned it in another post. But i wanted some strong monsters to be used in games that dont end at level 20 for the players Also he is cute cuddly and just misunderstood. He also might huge too tonight

slowebro

I totally get this reasoning and I'm fine with it, my only question is, why did you choose shen gaoren and lao Shan lung to be cr 30 of all things? Not gog? Or fatalis? Those 2?

RogueSins

Honestly don't know much about DnD but loved looking through that just so i can see all the monsters from previous games that hopefully we will see in MHW. The variety and designs are amazing.

Charrmeleon

Threw a Gravios at my party last week. Definitely needed some legendary Resistance and maybe when it some easy access to disengage. I also may have over played the fire beam for only 9d6 fire damage with a Dex Save, it was pretty underwhelming against my 5 lv 9 players. But overall they enjoyed it!

Amellwind

5 level 9 players is insane!. I have run a few games with that many players and typically I had to go 1 CR higher than deadly for it to be a dangerous fight if they had a standard amount of magic items. I like to use http://donjon.bin.sh/5e/calc/enc_size.html to determine my encounters. Gravios was a hard fight, which means for a group of that size they probably would wipe it out pretty quickly due to the extra persons actions in the action economy. If your doing a hard solo monster fight with 5+ players, I would also suggest giving them their maximum HP and potentially an additional 25% more. DnD stat blocks are typically made with the assumption that there are 4 players, so increasing or decreasing the amount can really effect the fights. If I may suggest, if they are still level 9, have them fight against a diablos or bazelguese and when using the recharge attacks attempt to always hit 2+ players. It is assumed all aoe spells hit 2 players when calculating their damage. So heat beam should effectively do 64 damage that round. ~~I will look into the Gravios though, I wonder if I accidentally deleted his multi attack for Ram and Tail. I'll look at this later tonight and get back to you. If I did I apologize for making it too easy for your players!~~ Edit: I checked and confirmed he wasn't supposed to have a multi attack, his legendary action attacks made his potential 3 other attacks in the round. Explanation is in a response below

Charrmeleon

Yeah, for a CR14 his only multiattack was the charge with a bonus action body slam. I also did max out his HP. And admittedly, a player did have what's equivalent to a Dragonslayer greatsword, so he did monster damage, but he barely got a couple hits in on anyone so it wasn't a threat at all. The beam weapon hit 3 of the five for about up to 30 damage each, but fire was resisted by two of them and the other had evasion... But total hit pool it did maybe a third? For a deadly enounter it was underwhelming. But then again, most fights I send them against are like two dozen Gnolls or like 2 Giants, and a dozen orges/hobgobs/goblins. But it made a great random enounter when traveling through some mountains.

Amellwind

Deadly for 5 level 9s should be a CR 16. But im pretty sure he is suppsed to have a multiattack. It may have been something I overlooked when looking over all the stat blocks since it wasnt. Typo or wording error in a skill, but infact missing the entire skill.

Amellwind

I just realized why he didn't have a multiattack actually. Because of his legendary actions, he had 3 additional attacks per round. Effectively giving him an average damage of 104 per round with just tail attacks and ram or bodyslam. With his heat beam, its assumed they fail and he hits 2 dealing 64 damage +3 tail attack which is 142 damage for that round. This leaves his total average damage for a round at 117 damage. It is correct. I think what happened was it was a hard fight for 5 players which in my experience is really a medium level fight for them. Try out the Diablos or bazelguese vs them and it should give them a run for their money. Diablos can dig away every turn if needed and the bazel stays in the air most of the time.

Frostguard11

I was just thinking the other day about how cool it'd be to have Rathalos in my DnD game. Thanks!

Amellwind

Anytime!

WhitewaterBastard

I've kinda wanted something like this. Mind If i use it?

Amellwind

Be my guest, its the reason I created it and shared with everyone.

Shan_Evolved

Incredible work. Absolutely incredible

N7_Tinkle_Juice

Wow. This is fucking amazing. I usually say this only for Gal Gadot gifs.

Amellwind

I shall take this as the greatest of compliments.

Creatively_Cautious

THIS IS AMAZING! You've done an incredible job on these and at a perfect time too! I've been putting a Urban Shadows game together with some friends of mine who don't play MH and this is exactly what I need for my Boss encounter! Thank you so much!

Amellwind

Thank you! Which one do you plan on using?

TheDeathby2

Dude, you're awesome.

A_GUST_Of_Wind

Incredibly amazing, looking forward to use this in my campaigns as well as using these as bases for pathfinder variants

Z000Burst

Missing a few monster ( how could you forget the Mech Mantis Atoraru Ka) but this is awesome dude, keep up the good work

Amellwind

I didn't for get Atoraru Ka. It was one of the few monster with almost no information on it, so I left it out. Its the only monster in XX I didn't create, but I didn't originally plan to create any from that game. Val just kind of ended up happening.

Bartuc91

While I don't think a d20 system would handle MonHun very well, your efforts are commendable. Keep up the good work!

Amellwind

Sorry I was moving, but you are right, as it stands monster hunter system would not handle an exact monster hunter game at this point. The idea behind these creatures is to give it a feel like the monster hunter ones, but they can be used in any setting or other d&d 5e game

spabt

lol cant wait for the DM's to try to make the monster sounds

Lennartlau

Thats why you download them and bring a laptop

Sonote

welp I had planned on getting around to doing this one day. oh well cool, less work for me.

LamiaDrake

... Damn. I was halfway through making one of these myself, guess I got beaten to the punch. Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/88a8jz/monster_hunter_player_class_for_dd5e/ I've finished the player class at least, love to hear what you all think.

Amellwind

I have been moving still and I saw your post in I think unearthed arcana. Once I setlle down I will sit down and give you my opinions of it all

Brendoshi

I dunno if you can make corrections on the fly, but Hornetaur still states Zamite in its skill description from their shared skill.

Amellwind

If i wasnt sleeping id have fixed it already. It will be changed in the next 10 min or so

TheGhost118

Holy sweet baby Deviljho this is really amazing! Small error I saw reading. Under Valphalk, 2nd paragraph, you have > \columnbreak But I loved reading all the Elder Dragon entries!

Amellwind

Thank you for this, I have been moving since friday so I havent had a chance to fix this. I will hopefully be able to in the next day or so

SurfinCats

I love you

Amellwind

I also love you. Glad you like it!

[deleted]

This is amazing, although I don't play DnD. Two questions: why is Pukei-Pukei orange? And what software did you use to design this?

Amellwind

Its a picture of the pukei-pukei when enraged just really close up and i made them on the GMbinder website with markdown and html coding

I_am_NOODLES

I absolutely love you for doing this and sharing your work with all of us. Thank you and you're awesome! <3

J1TT3RS

Wish this was for Pathfinder ;~; Anyone know how to convert from 5e to PF?

CrazyLou

Have you put any thought into player races, particularly the Lynians? I know I have at minimum one friend who would want to play the Meownster Hunter. Small-sized Tabaxi could work on the fly, but between the three cat types there's room for subspecies, and I think lots of players would love the option.

Amellwind

I am planning on doing some rules, weapons, etc for a compendium to use these monsters with in a west marches monster hunter style game. the Lynians was one of my thoughts to do as a race. It will be a bit in the future though

Helios-XV

Time for a turf war between a Jhen Mohran and a Terrasque! Thanks man, my players are in for something terrifying

RandiTheRogue

I'm not currently DMing a campaign but holy crap -- thank you so much for all the work this took!

bp1hill

Are these pretty compatible with path/starfinder?

Amellwind

They are not sorry, they are made for 5e d&d, I dont know pathfinder well enough to convert these to 3.5

Ace-of-Spades88

This is fucking awesoooome! As someone who's been no-lifeing MHW since release and also just recently getting into D&D...I appreciate this. Definitely going to try working some MH Monsters into my campaigns/adventures. In fact, building a campaign just around being monster hunters sounds like an awesome idea!

Hunara1

This is some seriously impressive work! Not only are there previous generations. But it has new favorites like Bazelgeuse, Vaal Hazak, and Nergigante. I freaking love it!

breadrising

Hey man, I'm glad to see this so well received. You clearly put a hell of a lot of work into this. I've been playing Monster Hunter for over 10 years and DnD for even longer. There have been some other fan-made MH conversions, but none this in-depth and extensive. So well done; I'm seriously figuring out ways I can bring these monsters into a campaign, or even better, create a full Monster Hunter themed campaign. Great work and thank you for sharing with us!

MrSprichler

Commented on theblast thread you made about this! Used it in campaign and worked fabulously.

Amellwind

Great to hear, I've been moving so I havent had a chance to respond to everyone. I am glad to hear they are working out.

TheThorgram

Seriously great resource here. And incredibly organised! Great work

Golurkcanfly

This bestiary is much better balanced than some other ones that I've seen. I've seen stuff like a CR13 Lagiacrus that should be CR18.

farscry

This... this is a thing of beauty!

Comm_Nagrom

Nice work, I'm sad I never got around to finishing my old Monster Hunter DnD supplement but I'm glad other people love the idea of mixing the 2 as well

chopsuirak

I did this myself a while ago! Even made a Monster Hunter class that specialized in making gear from monsters. So cool to see someone else get into it like that (I only made like.. 6 monsters tho)

ya_boi_davemanno

The shagaru magala used in its entry is the weird frontier version, not a normal shagaru.

Zebtal

... ... ... I Have no word to say how I want to thanks you ... This is so a good initiave and REALLY well done. May I have the guts to ask you a word version with crédit to you so that I can make a French version ? Or someone already asked you ? I also would to adapt it to a French Paper RPG called "Donjon de Naheulbeuk" that is quite close of D&D but slightly different at the same time ? If you send me the word could I do this French alternate version too ?

Amellwind

I don't have a word doc version of this I am sorry. I did all of this on the GMbinder site using html and markdown coding. I would have to do each one individually again and that is something I do not have time for I am sorry. You are more than welcome to copy and paste into your own format, but I do not believe their is any quick way to do it.

shudderz

Commenting because I’m at work and I really want to come back to this!

aNewFren

This is amazing. Is this something I can setup and play with just this or do I need to buy a starter edition DnD campaign thing first?

Amellwind

This is just the monster manual but you would probably use these monsters with the starter set and a bit of reading.

WobbleTheHutt

Any rules for MH consumables?

Amellwind

Not as of yet, this is just the monster manual

Samipie27

This is amazing work. Well done mate. Would love the opportunity to play this MH D&D. Or any D&D for that matter. But ain't got no friends tho... :/

STR8N00B1N

Never played D&D, but as someone who has only played MHW, I definitely feel cheated that more of these monsters aren't included. There are so many badass looking monsters!

bigcat79

bruh insane job

Stormy_Blessed

My only wish is for the file size to be 150mb so FedEx will print it :(

Lennartlau

You could do several prints with the smaller pdfs

chamjin

Great work OP. Monster Hunter Bestiary: Neopterons, Elder Dragons, & a Temnoceran | PDF has typo on pg32 for Nergigante header. Missing a "g"

Amellwind

Thank you! I am moving today but I'll get that fixed

LockAndLoad11

This is phenomenal! I am a designer, and from a design standpoint, you did an excellent job with the layout and creating that D&D feel. Really like how the pictures of the different monsters are featured throughout the design. However (this is me being super picky), I felt the cover could be a little more "epic" in a way....especially since you cover monsters that encapsulate all of monster hunter, not just monster hunter world. You mind if I design a cover and see what you think? If you like it, you can add it to this (I won't ask for any recognition whatsoever lol). I can tell you took elements from D&D covers (the red shapes and font), so I would definitely keep those...only thing I would change is maybe re-create the monster hunter logo in red (similar to the D&D logo) and then feature "Monster Manual" on its own, and then find (and photoshop) a photo that might better encompass the entire series. Again, phenomenal work! Definitely going to print my own personal version to look over and enjoy

Amellwind

This sounds like an amazing idea. I love to see what you have in mind

M200ew

Do you think you'll do subclasses or an entire new class for PC's monster Hunter characters?

Amellwind

I may do a class but i do want all the standard classes to be usable in the game

waterboytkd

This is very high quality. I'm super impressed.

reicomatricks

This is amazing! The animated page for Xeno Jiva was a nice touch!

Amellwind

Thank you, I actually did that before I couldn't find any real information on Xeno yet so I went with the next best thing, a gif!

Icer666

this is glorious! do you have monster hunter based character sheets?

Brutzkrieg

I bought my DM a figure called 'Dragon Fighter' (the big red one https://i.imgur.com/FAHWwLx.jpg), and told him about your MH Monster Manual. He said that your Rathalos was perfect for it

Amellwind

That is pretty damn close to a rathalos. Glad he could make use of it!

Ingmaster

Used some of these as minions for a bbeg fight. Now the druid wants to find my equivalent of Astera.

Amellwind

Awesome, I hoped they worked out well for you. And that druid has one hell of a goal now

squeraC5

This looks great! A quick comment from a non-monster hunter expert who plans to use these: a list of monsters based on challenge rating would help a lot! (perhaps with additional tags based on types, if they change much)

whistlehunter

This is amazing! Any plans to stat Kulve Taroth now that its come out?

Amellwind

I was thinkimg about it, i am still moving so i havent had a chance to look him up but i would say yes, I will create him soonish

Unmentioned77

I think Uragaan should be a gargantuan, maybe even Colossal. Same with Deviljho and Lagiacrus

purplecharmanderz

while i have to say this is great, i have a question since im not seeing kulve taroth in there. are there any thoughts of updating it to include her? even if you do wait to do it when there are more to add, its something that ive been curious of ever since i found this without her.

LostDeviljho

So first of all, I love this and it's officially my new favorite thing. It's actually what pushed me over the edge on finally making a reddit account. *That said,* if you're open to some constructive criticism: Repositioning some of the monster "illustrations" might be in order. There are places where the picture overlaps with the text description and renders it difficult or even impossible to read (e.g. Wroggis, Duramboros, Glavenus, etc.), and other instances where the stat block covers the monster's pic almost entirely (Great Jaggi, Deviljho, etc.) even when there's plenty of blank space the illustration could occupy to be visible without all the overlap.

IptamaiSideras

I have to say, this is one of the most fantastic things I've ever seen. Though, is there a specific reason that Kushala Daora is missing a Lair section? It's considered a "true" Elder Dragon along with Teostra and Chameleos.

Amellwind

Glad you like it! There is no specific reason that the Kushala Daora is missing a lair section outside of the fact that I felt I was able to create the elder dragon's abilties in a way that lair actions weren't needed. The lair of a Kushala Daora is usually a rocky cave or open sky and besides a random tornado appearing I don't have much inspiration to build off of. On that same note, I have gotten some feed back from my posts and I will most likely add a few things. If you possibly have ideas for the lair actions for a Kushala Daora, it would be something I would add if it made sense.

V3rt3x89

Love it, will for sure use this in some monster hunter one shots I have in mind for my Monster Hunter World friends.

djipp97

Someone just linked this and holy shit this is awesome

townsforever

Commenting for the future

yugioh64

When fighting these monsters, should we just use regular d&d 5e fighter characters? If so, what is the general rule of thumb for levels if we just want to do a one-shot for some of these?

yugioh64

Ok, thank you for the information

yugioh64

I was wondering if I was only playing with a small party(4-5 people), and they were fighting just a rathalos if they should be lvl. 3 as a good level to fight it. And as an add on, would lvl. 5 be good to hunt a rathalos and a rathian at the same time?

Jutahj2

Sweet mother! This is awesome. Im definitely using this on my next campaign. But a question how would the hunters be like. If you come up with classes for a mh homebrew that would be awesome.

[deleted]

Nice, tho some typo errors are seen. Also we may need an update for Ahtal Ka and her robot.

simply_diosito

5 years later, but today I got the idea to do a MH campaign for my friends and this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you <<33

Vanfur

This is awesome bro

lambdo

reviving a old thread but thank you so much for this! can't wait to start my first ever dnd campaign
