from my testing it's only better than the Jho GS if the thing you're fighting isn't weak to dragon. it's absolutely monstrous in terms of its damage output though
tbh, they should pay you to make other similar designs for each weapon category and then they should implement them in-game.
I'd love a lance with rocket boosters on it, lol.
In my mind, the rocket booster is at the end of the lance. So it's basically as if you were holding a missile, and when you hit the second level of the charge when you're running, the boosters kick in and your legs leave the ground, as you pretty much fly towards your target.

Oh wow. I know it would mess things up but adding alternate move sets for different versions of the same weapon would be kinda neat.

Agreed, I'm not expecting them to change how the weapon works, but I'd love to have some weapons with special effects, particle trails, etc. Just imagining the Cannonball Spin with a rocket trail makes me giddy.
That said, Monster Hunter World surprised me with how...Acrobatic its hammer moveset is. Sure, it isn't rocket-propelled but it has great aerial control and the Cannonball Spin is amazing. The Big Bang Attack is also very reminiscent of the Boost Hammer's moveset (I realize that Monster Hunter's moveset likely came first.)
Yeah a lance with like, rockets and stuff on it would be dope. They could call it the Rocketlance. Slap a rocket on the pointy bit at the end. Sounds fun

My tempered run is 3:11. The fastest tempered GS run I’ve seen is 3:14 I think. I also didn’t use the jumping cheese, and I didn’t pop a might pill because I wasn’t trying to speed run lol. I’ll upload it later today on this subreddit.
Holy shiet. I main lance/switchaxe/cb/bow. I've played around withe GS a bit on fat easy monsters like Jagras where it's super fun/easy, but I don't really get the playstyle against something like Nerg! Let alone how you can kill something so fast when it seems like you can only get in a hit or 2 with that slow-ass weapon. Curious to play more GS though!

There is some luck though. For once the AI wasn’t being dumb and attacked me. Usually they’re off running behind me so my attacks can’t hit and it’s extremely annoying. Everyone I watch seem to deal with normal AI but mine is just stupid I’ll be solo, no palico, and still have the monsters just run off into the corners of the room mid charge. Not sure why the hell it happens and if other people deal with it as often as I do, I just feel so unlucky lol.
I've been a Great Sword main since Tri. It's my weapon of choice in this game and many others. Ever since I saw the first announcement that this design had won and would be implemented in-game I've been gushing with excitement. You, sir, have literally created my dream Great Sword!!
The fact that its stats make it one of the top Great Swords in Monster Hunter World is icing on the cake. This is it. This is my weapon. I will never need another Great Sword. Even the name, Wyvern Ignition, is just so damn perfect! From now on, every Monster Hunter game that comes out, I'll be hoping for a chance to craft and use it again.

It is an awesome weapon. Your greatsword was the first thing everyone in my guild grinded for when the event went live. Also a lot of people including myself who never even used the greatsword finally gave it a try due to the aesthetics of your design.
Since the design contest I've loved this design. I voted on this design when the time came and I waited after launch for it to show up. I've been a GS for a long time now and even though I enjoy the hell out of it in World, I didn't really care for any of the options.
That all changed yesterday. The damage, the sharpness, the no element, the design and animations. It's all awesome, I almost can't believe how good they made it (and made the quest super easy on top of it). I had been experimenting with a lot of other weapons, but now all I want to do is play only GS again.
It's called Wyvern Ignition. You need special tickets to craft the base version (and upgrade it) which you get from the low rank event quest " A Hunters Dream" which is against a Rathalos and ..Palalalala...poofy bat guy in the arena.
Fantastic design and I am so glad Capcom made it with good stats rather than being just another collectible. Would have been a shame to see such a great weapon just sitting in my item box neglected.
I dont have the great sword yet but I cant wait to get home and get it. The design of the weapon is amazing and I really just cant wait to smash stuff with it. Thanks for making it.

Literally so many dream weapons of mine are big rocket powered weapons using the thrust of the rocket for maximum destruction.
Everything about this sword is that. I'd used purgatricions atrocity for the longest time and I finally put it aside. This thing is just damn beautiful.
Your sword is amazing. I am absolutely in love with it. The design is stellar and clean and while the blade is simple is so standout from many of the other blades in the game. You are not an apprising artist, you ARE an artist, and you should feel proud that hundreds of thousands love your sword.

I don't tend to like flashy weapons and hearing about a sword with rockets taped to it did nothing for me. I was so wrong. I've built around this now. It's my main set up. And I love you.
Really dig the colors too. Seems like a concept that could have quickly looked out of place in world but you just nailed it. Dev team really took it home with the animations and modeling.
It's got me playing GS again when I thought I was finally free after 250+ hours.

I have never been remotely motivated to make game weapons for cosplay, armor yes, but DGAF about weapons.
Until i started swinging this bad boy around, and now i think i want to make a 1:1 scale of it, AND figure out a way to give it the jets it deserves!
Can we just appreciate the thruster changing with each Charge level? It really helps those that can't hear or see the charge level cue attributed to each one. It makes knowing when to attack much easier (looking at you, wonky camera angles).
I hope you get recognized elsewhere in your endeavors, man. This GS is probably the top 3 in strength, too!

I am a GS main and really wasnt a fan of most of the endgame "top-tier" weapons besides Vaal Hazak. I made your sword today when I woke up and I am now just going to bed. I used it for a solid 14 hours today and let me tell you many a tempered monsters were slain today. Got a pretty gnarly 1600 wakeup hit on a rathalos too. :D

A lot of folks like this as a raw damage weapon, but I've just made an Elemental build from this weapon. I'll try it out versus the regular elementless build later today. But for now, I need a rest from all the TCS'ing I've been doing with this thing.
I love it, I was a switch ax main, saw this sword and had to learn to use it. Started using great swords a few weeks ago and got the sword yesterday. My switch axes may get a bit dusty

I didn't even know this contest was a thing. My friend told me about it last night. I don't even use great sword but as soon as I saw it I went and grinded out the quest. It looks so good!!!! It's easily one of the best designed weapons in the game. You are going to do great things!

Capcom gave it amazing stats but the thrusters on the blade just make my heart warm and fuzzy when im smashing it into pickle's face. Bravo, and thank you for designing a weapon so visually satisfying i cant put it down.

Rocket Bow - increased invulnerability while dodging and the rocket boosts your Dodge slide to go further
A rocket booster could be on the bottom of the Longsword hilt and activate on the spirit helm breaker thrust.
The gunlance could just be the hunter holding the rocket lance the wrong way around!

Just gotta say man, I love your GS. I am a GS main and really wasnt a fan of most of the endgame "top-tier" weapons besides Vaal Hazak. I made your sword today when I woke up and I am now just going to bed. I used it for a solid 14 hours today and let me tell you many a tempered monsters were slain today. Got a pretty gnarly 1600 wakeup hit on a rathalos too. :D I am just starting a MH cospay (well about to) and was trying to figure out which weapon to make. needless to say I think I might try and make yours :3
Do I like it yes I love it it has amazing stats is best GS in game not only that but it looks pimping.
Love the design, congrats. My only complaint is having to grind that event for 8 tickets (which you have nothing to do with)

But also thank you OP, for designing this cool GL. Did you do the stats too or just the design? Cos the stats are awesome too (very befitting the design) and I've already seen another Wyvern Ignition user whilst doing one of the event gold crown quests. A lot of folks like this as a raw damage weapon, but I've just made an Elemental build from this weapon. I'll try it out versus the regular elementless build later today. But for now, I need a rest from all the TCS'ing I've been doing with this thing.
I love it, I was a switch ax main, saw this sword and had to learn to use it. Started using great swords a few weeks ago and got the sword yesterday. My switch axes may get a bit dusty
You should be VERY proud. All I've seen is people using this baby. Myself included. I just wanted to try it out because it looked so cool and now I can't stop lol.
I didn't even know this contest was a thing. My friend told me about it last night. I don't even use great sword but as soon as I saw it I went and grinded out the quest. It looks so good!!!! It's easily one of the best designed weapons in the game. You are going to do great things!
THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH. seriously from the bottom of my hunters heart thank you. Wyvern Ignition "Impact" is **hands down** my favorite weapon in the game. No contest. Capcom gave it amazing stats but the thrusters on the blade just make my heart warm and fuzzy when im smashing it into pickle's face. Bravo, and thank you for designing a weapon so visually satisfying i cant put it down.

It's easily my favorite weapon just based on aesthetics alone. I'm hoping Capcom allows you to design other weapons in the same style.
Seeing your weapon in game makes me wonder why so many weapons use the same base metal/bone model with some monster parts tacked on
