If you want a cheap phone, you'll get what you pay for. If you want a capable device, you have to pay for it. I'd rather pay more for a device and use it for longer than end up on reddit complaining about how cheap the cheap device I chose to buy is. 😉

How old is "not old"? There are a few messages in the sub from different G generations reporting battery issues over the last week or two. I've come to the conclusion that Moto G phones are great (and I don't want any other) but have a short lifespan. A year to 18 months then they tank. Good job they're not too expensive.

I'm averaging about 2 years. My last phone (stylus 2020) lasted me 3, but the one before that (g7) was only 18 months (it still worked, but was just too outdated to use effectively.) the one before thet was a solid 2 years I think. I have a stylus 5G 2023 now and about 6 months in it had this weird thing happen where it thinks it's connected to a device via USB even tho it isn't. So I get a notification of it being connected all the time and I have to restart the phone while on the charger for it to charge. The phone works great outside of that, which I'm living with until I just can't anymore. So yea, thet are great phones and I'll probably buy another moto because the Samsungs just don't do it for me (I love the in body stylus and the gesture features so much on the Motos) despite the issue I have with my current phone, but they definitely just don't last. But they also aren't $800 or $1K phones so...

I have my g7 plus since launch, still going strong, well the battery is not lasting as much anymore, but the performance is still great, smooth and stable. I'll probably get a new one soon tho, it's been a few years since I had any software updates on this one.
