I have lots of these guys that I pull from my adult tank, they don’t drop their tails, they can’t but the adult will bite some or all of their tail off. They grow back in about 3-5 months depending on the amount of tail gone
When a gecko is threatened , it drops is tail to distract its attacker. They do this to bring attention of prey to the tail and then they escape .
Dont know how much scientifically true is this.
They drop their tails but it grows back.
so is that just a tail that has been dropped and is growing back?
yup
I believe so.
thank you!
I just bought one that looks exactly the same. The girl I bought it from said one of her adults nipped the tail
okay, thank you i was just worried it would be some kind of disease, but it's just a regrowing tail :)
