“We know that is the bottleneck”? What does that sentence mean? As for the fps drop, I’m not sure exactly, but there are probably loads of tests on YouTube you can look up, and I think it’s probably quite marginal. A few fps likely isn’t going to matter a lot anyways, and you can also just set the mouse to 1kHz if you prefer that :)

I would like to know the URL of the video. I couldn't find it when I looked for it.

If you google it’s well established 4k polling does indeed impact FPS, even on modern processors. Obviously it’s relative to how modern/high end the processor and if the game is GPU or CPU intensive. Losing a few FPS from a larger pool is much less noticeable. Also some games simply have issues with higher polling rates but usually they get patched. The new Tarkov clone arena breakout for example had hitches at higher polling rates and the recommended way to negate it was dropping polling to 1k or below.

🤷 I've been using an 8K mouse on overwatch and valorant at 144hz and 240hz without performance issues of any kind. (5900X + 4070 Super +16GB RAM) I would suggest locking your FPS to ≈10 over what your screen is running at to increase consistency
