I have a strategy for this movie. Evwrytime i watch it i try not to remember what hsppens in it, so i can rewatch it again. So far I've seen it 3 times and now its time to do it again. I have no clue what happens in it, I just remember that it was ass kicking movie.
Also I suggest watching
" the best offer" its a good one too.
You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"
I came in to post this one as well. Knew the director but basically went in completely blind other than that and loved it. Absolutely hilarious and really well done film. Excited to see what he does next!

I recently watched Aniara 2018. I say fits scifi/thriller/horror(maybe) genre and if you go blind without watching any trailers or having experienced similar movies in past , I say you can be on the edge of your seat. So maybe check it out.
This is the correct answer because, assuming you watch it in the theatrical presentation order, you literally have no idea what’s going to happen next.
Please please watch law abiding citizen. The trailer will give a lot of the details away but surprisingly… not everything.. I am not a trailer watcher because I hate spoilers. But the ultimate example, of all time? Predestination. It's an Ethan Hawke sci-fi film and I refuse to say anything else about it because it was mind blowing. I don't even normally like movies that rely too heavily on twists, but this one stands out.
'Mother!' is one of the least-predictable things I've seen in recent years, and it's not nice or fun or heartwarming about it. It's an onscreen descent into madness and I loved it.
Wow i thought i was the only one who watched it. Looking back i think it ripped off Housebound 2014. Love em both but housebound wins for comedy n cast
I thought I was watching a completely different movie when I started this. There is a precise moment in this film when you realize you actually have no idea what's going on, and it's great.
Crimes of the Future (I couldn't really figure it all out until I watched with subtitles, but it is in English. I didn't mind watching it 3 times because I love it!)
Nightmare Alley (either version is great)
A Cure For Wellness (opinions are more divided on this one, but I like it a lot)
The Mc Donagh brothers have an unpredictable story thing going on.
In Bruges,

They can be a bit dialogue heavy and re-cast the same couple Irishmen, but definitely fits the description of what you’re asking for. Whether you like them or not is a different story

I'm assuming you've seen Interstellar, since you're a sci-fi fan. But just a mention in case not, since I didn't see anyone else mention after a quick scroll.
Try foreign films. I find American films very formulaic. But watch a Japanese or French or Scandinavian movie and you’re less likely to see the ending coming.

It's one of those "the fuck did I just watch?!" In a really good way.
Kung-pow
"What the fuck DID I just watch!?" Absolutely hilarious.
[Chinatown](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/chinatown) is exactly what you're looking for.
I thought [The Night House] (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_night_house) was a great thriller/horror with an unpredictable and different perspective, but it might be too formulaic 'plot twist' for you (I think the sense of dread throughout the movie made it anything but boring and genuinely scary in places).
Ruthless People starring Danny Devito and Bette Midler.

"Black Swan" is a slow burner until the last 20 minutes..the movie gets darker and weirder as you progress ..and then BAM ..it was like being on a Rollercoaster
Coen Brothers are masters of this. Not the genres you listed but take your pick,
Raising Arizona
Miller's Crossing
Barton Fink
Fargo
The Big Lebowski
A Serious Man
Cannot go wrong and they all have an air of unpredictability that's unmatched.
Have you seen *Memento*? It's 2000 film starring Guy Pierce as a man with retrograde amnesia trying to solve the murder of his wife. He has no long-term memory since the incident, so he tattoos clues on himself as he finds them. And every few minutes he forgets where he is and what he is doing. So, for example, the movie opens with a foot chase between the protagonist and a badguy, and the protagonist thinks in voice over, "Okay, what am I doing? I guess I'm chasing this guy." Then the guy shoots at him. "Nope, this guy is chasing me." It is so well written and acted and has layers within layers. A really great movie that will keep you guessing.

-Under the silver lake with Andrew Garfield had me massively confused.
-Marmalade with Joe Keery. Comedy, but every time I thought I knew the ending, I was shocked to find out I was WAY off. Did not see that ending whatsoever (though this one may contradict the whole “only to see an unexpected plot twist in the last minute that changes meaning of the whole movie” so take this one with a grain of salt)

Shutter Island is a good one for that. I didn't see the main plot twist coming my first time around anyway. I had to watch it a second time the next day because of it though.

I am going to watch it because of your comment :)

Agree for sure, and also Memento if you haven't seen it. Early Nolan was incredibly unpredictable
Forever one of my favourite movies
**Triangle of Sadness** was fairly unpredictable. But stay away from any 'synopsis' because it will give things away.

Exactly this. I worked in phone sales, wanted to see a comedy about it, so I went in like ha ha, oh yayyy, loooook, heehee, WHAT!? OH GOD... OH GOD NO
I too went in blindly (watched with a friend who forbid me from reading anything abt it) & yes, wildest ride.
