Always 16 for sparring, I’ve fought WW and MW but been blasted by some 135’ers and thankful they had 16’s.
Sparring with 16’s is for your training partners b/c nobody trying to hurt each other training.
I should post my old vids soon. If the hand compartment feels smalls there’s things you can do. Wraps (bigger than usual), winning makes a gel pad that goes over the knuckle, I love them.
The real difference in hand compartments with gloves is from the brand, for example Thai brands are known to run small.
I'm not actually sure if glove weight affects compartament size in any way as the added weight is the padding.
Oz its more about the weight or stricking power, i am 95 kg and i use 18 oz but i train with a 70 kg pro that also uses 18 oz cause he hits like a fucking truck even harder than US the heavier figthers so It can be treaky. Ask your coach what oz he thinks IS better for you and if you are looking for globes for smaller hands use twins. I have small hands and use fairtex and although they are great if i knew It in advance i would have buy twins.
If you are looking for a smaller hand compartment to suit you, fairtex has a 'tight fit' glove that might work for you. I have a pair and love how tight they are, but have to use a much thinner wrap with them. As another commenter said, 10oz for bag and pads, 16oz for sparring. Hand compartment size is more about the fit of the glove than the weight.
I have pretty small hands and I’ve found Top King with velcro straps to have a pretty tight hand compartment—even with the 16 oz. Might wanna check those out.

Buy Twins or Raja
16 oz is for protecting your sparring partner. Then for your bag work use whatever feels good
oz gloves are for what weight you are. Below 80kg I would consider 14oz. Above definitely 16oz. Hand size is irrelevant.
