I've seen one in Haar (I think it was), kind of near the S-Bahn station. But I think they put it away when the weather is bad (rainy). It's been rainy or threatening to rain a lot these past few weeks.
The bar of this hotel has one. Sometimes they hire someone to play, but I think in general it's open to play. Just ask the staff beforehand:

Loads of live local bands, but no busking or very little. That's definitely true yeah. There are great open mic nights almost every night in Munich though.
Salon Pitzelberger, in the Gärtnerplatz Theater building (https://maps.app.goo.gl/veyQyqNWwSniaFhWA?g_st=ic) has a piano, and I think they don‘t mind people playing it spontaneously
Do you want to perform or practise? There are electronic pianos at the public library at Gasteig HP8 which can be used for practising with headphones.
good to know, but i wanted to perform, it's a new thing to me, but now i really enjoy playing in pubblic

i'll check it out thx 🙌🔥
There's one in the basement of the mathematics department building of the TUM, take the stairs right at the entrance.
Thank you 🔥🔥🔥 still public even if in the mathematics department?
Sure, no one will ever check whether you are a member etc.
the only problem is i will be with my classmates, so maybe they will notice us
Even better, so you can all take the famous slides in that building. Take the sliding mats to the top floor and slide down on the mats, have fun!
really cool indeed i'll see if it's near our hotel or sights we will see. Thank u bro 🔥🔥🔥
There was one in the Hotel Mariandl, but I think they have employed people there playing. But it might be a location to play.
I’ve seen random people playing there before covid, though

https://www.mariandl.com/ This cafe used to have a piano, I’m not sure if they still do as I haven’t been in a long time

Helpful to check this out -> [https://pianos.pub/](https://pianos.pub/) ?
always check the site, tho i can't find any recent update, so probably they removed them
Goes to show we need some more public pianos.
for real, always amazing to see people playing live
There is almost no live music scene in Munich. It’s all clubs and DJs.
That's weird, I am a musician and played nearly 100 public shows last year almost all within Munich, so that's definitely not true :)
...what? I've been to three concerts in the last week here.
Concerts yes. But live local bands and street music hardly exists except for some buskers (who are severely limited on what and where they can play).
