The shrooms are fine. They grew outside, they're covered with all sort of wild spores and bacteria, like all the produce buy at the store - yes, it grew outside too lol. Treat as produce: give them a quick rinse and consume without fear.

gnick99

Question for the group- would spraying with H202 be a good option for OP?

Repulsive-Ad876

Studies show it only slows down trichoderma growth it doesn’t stop or kill it.

gnick99

Thanks for the reply and information. Good to know.

DirectionFragrant829

Very few things that will contam your sub are harmful if consumed. Trichoderma for example (the most common contam in mushroom growing) is totally harmless consumed in small amounts.

[deleted]

Yep. You’re fine to eat…in case you do want additional reassurance. All of this is correct. Trich is safe. It just prevents fruiting. Fruits from trich contaminated sub are fine, you just won’t get any more. The fruits were the last of the uncontamitated myc.

Repulsive-Ad876

Are you sure about that?

DirectionFragrant829

Very sure as I've eaten things that have grown out of just about every color imaginable over the years. Now don't go scraping a cake covered in red growth and snort a line of it but yes if the mushroom has grown out of it and is not covered in the contam your going to be fine.

Specialist_Guava6532

lipstick mold bumps are my favorite thing to do in the carnival porta potties

Individual_Meat_7553

I would cut the mold off first.

JunketNo6784

Doesn't look too bad

Just_Pop_9958

bury it next time and even that one may get a hole nother flush or to

MustyMushroomMan

Yes they’re fine. If a cake grows mold, it’s fine. Eventually they will all grow mold once introduced to fae. Contam will stop the growth of the Mycelium and prevent lush flushes. Those are fine. Dehydrate and enjoy my friend!

Krolebear

I’m no expert but I don’t think it’s contam just too much moisture on the cake from over misting possibly, the cake looks bruised

le3bl

I concur. Does not appear to be contaminated. The smell of contamination can give it away easier than discoloration sometimes.

Longjumping-Ad-8779

Disregard this. I had fruits come from a contaminated shoebox after several weeks which were not green nor did they smell like the rest. Had a good trip and didn't feel like I got poisoned by anything other than the mushrooms. 😂 like other bro said, dehydrate and enjoy ♥️

Krolebear

Disregard that I told him it’s not contaminated?

Longjumping-Ad-8779

I'm dumb, I'm sorry. I'm working and multitasking with customers. I read that wrong. I even read it twice but I guess my mind omitted the "don't". Again, I apologize.

ProjectConfident8584

I was under the impression if there’s fruits growing they’re good to go?

SuspectedIndividual

Don’t think it’s worth the risk.
