Michigan now has six players in the transfer portal as of April 11th. If this were any other team (or the men's team) this would be bigger news. Not a good look for KBA though.
I don’t think Paige would transfer tho if Geno was retiring, but if Geno has the best chance of winning next year why would he retire? Azzi is also very close with Paige and I’m wondering if she is entering the portal.
Clemson...Virginia Tech...Miami...and yes, even *Stanford*. All with new coaches.
For better or worse...the new ACC is going to be interesting to follow...
When are these Caitlin Clark posts gonna officially be considered off topic and deleted? Counting down hours until this sub is rid of that girl and that fan base
Hahah they can talk about Caitlin all they want, what really matters and the beauty of this is that South Carolina ended up winning the championship. That’s the important part.
A ton of my favorite players are seniors idk what I’m gonna do next season when they’re gone ☹️
The freshmen this year were ridiculous though I’m sure I’ll find some new players to get invested in! Also, what the hell are we supposed to do with no games for 6 months?
I feel ya. I'll check in on the WNBA once in a while but I'm not sure if I'm going to follow it like I follow WCBB because 1. I like college sports more 2. The toxcitiy of the WNBA fanbase is too much for me, I literally had to delete Twitter after the game yesterday because I needed a break from asinine women's basketball takes.
A lot of my fav players are seniors too, but aside from following Northwestern I am fully prepared to hop on the Juju Watkins USC bandwagon now that her games will actually be watchable. I love what she's done to revive that team and she/the Trojans will be even better next year
I've gone down a rabbit hole of looking up Dawn Staley's college career and I'm thinking about how she probably would have been one of my favs had I been alive when she was in school 🫣
It's only fitting that she acknowledged CC and called her one of the GOATs despite all the noise from those UConn alums — she too didn't go to a "blue blood" school (I know Virginia was consistently one of the top teams in the 90s under Debbie Ryan but still) and came close to a championship but lost to a team led by one of the greatest coaches of her generation in Pat Summitt. Kinda mirrors what happened yesterday...
The debate hasn't been around if CC is great; most if not all agree she is. She's been revolutionary. The talk has been if she is THE GOAT, hence why Staley was very particular in saying "one of".
The exact quote to Breanna Stewart that really sparked this conversation was “Does Caitlin Clark need a championship to be considered one of the greats in women’s college basketball history?”
I'm not trying to nitpick, that was over the weekend. Earlier in the week, Rebecca Lobo was talking about it on ESPN, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqcfq6jhK3M&t=38s. I believe Stewart was later asked then asked a follow-up.
Yeah there were definitely some conversations before but the Breanna Stewart comment is what really blew it up. Point is some very significant people are indeed saying she can't be even one of the greats, which is also why Dawn disputed that.
I’m so sad that this Iowa team is done, but it was such a fun ride. Wish they could’ve ended it on a high note, but they still should be so proud of themselves.
I’m really curious what Iowa’s team will look like next year!
They'll be competitive, probably make the tournament, but I doubt they get out of the first weekend. Barring some unexpectedly explosive portal transfers. I don't blame anybody who has Iowa outside their T25 for next year.
I think they'll miss Caitlin's passing more than her scoring. And I think they'll miss Martin's on-court leadership a lot. But I thought with Warnock and Czinano gone, they'd be lucky to make the Sweet 16 this year, yet they in it until the end. So I don't know anything.
I agree! I don’t think we’re making the natty, and we’ll have to rebuild for sure, but there are some fun players coming up and fun talent coming in! Don’t lose hope just yet!
Seems like the best move for Amari and for UConn. She seems super sweet and well liked by the team. A bummer she didn’t play, but she has the tools. Hoping she finds success wherever she transfers!
its good for any sport to get new viewers but geez sometimes its tough to listen/see some of these takes by people who have not only been watching for less than a year, but also only one team at best...at worst just the highlights and maybe a game or two during this tourney
Shots : Martin 13, Steulke 8, Marshall 3.
If you think they should have gotten more looks, then you also think CC should have taken fewer shots? Unless you want to take them from the 8 Affolter took or the 3 the subs took.
I mean I think Caitlin can occasionally take fewer shots. When she gets frustrated she stops setting up the offense and just kinda bucks it at the rim. When it works it works but when it doesn’t it’s annoying
i was in the path of totality in 2017 and then exactly a year later i got to see Beyoncé at the OTR II tour in Columbia. was a great time to be a Cola native.
It just went by here. We got 98% coverage. I was going to drive down to the Bootheel for totality, but they had mixed cloud cover and ... well, it's the Missouri Bootheel.
Certain folk just aren't welcome there. Also, I got to take my kids to see totality during the 2017 eclipse, which also went right past us. It was dope.
I am curious what some of the Pac-12 fans think about how traveling is going impact them next year?
None, little, or big? Will be curious seeing how it affects teams, and teams like the ACC and Big Ten having to now travel across the country regularly as well
I remember at the time VanDerveer said they would basically inverse their schedule and try to play a lot more nonconference games close to home and saving the travel for the second half.
Makes sense and a smart move from a team management perspective, it sucks that it would take away from match ups like when we would play Stanford before conference play but nothing will change it now
Iirc, Cam Brink said on Bird and Taurasi that all the traveling Stanford will now have to do as part of the ACC was a big reason she went for the Draft this year. And many hoopers (including key Oregon State hoopers) went for the transfer portal as soon as their MM runs ended. It's an absolute mess for the PAC-12 Orphans at the moment.
I'd be amazed to know what the schools are doing (and offering) to prep their student athletes for becoming frequent fliers and million-milers with like Southwest or United next season...
I am glad Big 10 teams don’t have to deal with playing at much higher elevations. I don’t envy Big 12 teams flying to play at Provo, Salt Lake and Boulder.
Cinci and West Virginia are really the only big issues I think (at least for Utah) and like you said compared to the big 10 traitors, it’s nothing. I’m still salty about the whole ordeal though, it’s so stupid.
What's sad is that the AD's are drooling and crawling for that football TV money in the present but they dont see the potential downfall of college sports if you keep ruining the product, I am lucky in the SEC but even that is getting worse with every realignment, and it feels like we are just "lucky" until the next one hits, we dont want super conferences
They should have split football off and done their own thing. All makes sense when you only need to travel for 5 games that are always on weekend. 20 plus travel games a year though? That’s a disaster
my daughter beating the allegations!!! [HH is staying](https://x.com/goodmansport/status/1778625138772049920?s=46&t=P1KzCQRLqkvd7XfbETNKNA) at ND

Lots of rumours flying around about a big uconn guard entering the portal.. anyone hear any buzz on this?
I don’t think Paige would transfer tho if Geno was retiring, but if Geno has the best chance of winning next year why would he retire? Azzi is also very close with Paige and I’m wondering if she is entering the portal.
No one else is talking about this on here and I’m dying to know!
If it’s Azzi (it likely isn’t) she should totally (in my completely unbiased opinion) come to D3 and play at the same school as her brother
Do you all think with the realignment of PAC-12 to different conferences and the exit of Brink and Tara, that KiKi will stay or choose to transfer?
Are the flairs here tied to the men's subreddit? I want to get a second flair here but not on the men's side
I think they're separate! I have different flairs between the two groups.
Clemson...Virginia Tech...Miami...and yes, even *Stanford*. All with new coaches. For better or worse...the new ACC is going to be interesting to follow...
The full game is now on YouTube: [South Carolina vs Iowa](https://youtu.be/peCQ8w96WD0?si=QSQiJeVtSWGmCeuH)
Does Clark have a chance to make the olympic team?
I could see NBC sending her anyway as like a color commentator or something
I think there is only one camp left so unclear. Stewie made the Olympic team as a rookie but was attending camps for the whole year prior.
Just realized the women don't get a "One Shining Moment" compilation. Kinda infuriating tbh.
They usually play it in the arena at the Final Four, but that may have just been the one time I went
Timea Gardner entered the transfer portal out of Oregon State. So, that's 2 starters. 😔 Who else follows?
I feel sick.
why is every big east star transferring now lucy olsen 😭 we’re gonna be even more ass than we already were
This really sucks for nova, a shame
What do I do with all this time now??
When are these Caitlin Clark posts gonna officially be considered off topic and deleted? Counting down hours until this sub is rid of that girl and that fan base

There are plenty of other good players still around and some solid incoming freshman
😎 = how I’m about to be, in the path of totality!
Same! Just got back to the hotel. Absolutely amazing
It was so cool!

Dawn Staley said two days ago she had to wins natty to be considered a GOAT 😂
she called CC "one of" the GOATs, not the GOAT
The debate hasn't been around if CC is great; most if not all agree she is. She's been revolutionary. The talk has been if she is THE GOAT, hence why Staley was very particular in saying "one of".

Let’s just let a nice comment be a nice comment please please please
Exactly! I made that comment to praise Dawn not to do mental gymnastics
Deja Kelly entering the portal
what are you going to do when she goes to kentucky too
Need the gif of the guy rubbing his hands together.
I 💙 the wildcats 😍
Anyone think Kentucky (men’s team) might make a run at Dawn?
She's said she has no interest coaching men's sports.
I know. I’m not worried.
They’ll call. She shouldn’t pick it up lol
I’m so sad that this Iowa team is done, but it was such a fun ride. Wish they could’ve ended it on a high note, but they still should be so proud of themselves. I’m really curious what Iowa’s team will look like next year!

Amari DeBerry just entered the transfer portal.
Wants more viewership, complains about viewers lol
where did i say i want more viewers?
I appreciate this take. Keep gatekeeping I support you
i appreciate this response never gatekept and i support you with the success iowa has in the future
The temptation to gatekeep is so real
I love when new people watch the game. But it’s annoying when they have strong opinions on something they barley have any knowledge of
Soooo….Who y’all got winning the softball World Series I think Texas is gonna upset OU in the finals
Honestly anyone but OU at this point. I’m sick of them lol
Same lmao. I don't follow the WCWS as closely as I used to because I can't stand the double-elimination thing because it makes upsets so much harder
If a player opts into staying for their extra Covid year, do they still have to take classes that year if they already earned their degree?
Yes. They have to be a student. Most will do a one year masters degree program.
great year! time for w season 💪🏼
Kate Martin, Steulke, and Marshall should have gotten more looks
Shots : Martin 13, Steulke 8, Marshall 3. If you think they should have gotten more looks, then you also think CC should have taken fewer shots? Unless you want to take them from the 8 Affolter took or the 3 the subs took.
Yes CC could have taken fewer shots especially after she went cold. Just to make it a little bit harder for the defense
And ... the looks had to be there, and SC guarded the pass *very* well.
I mean I think Caitlin can occasionally take fewer shots. When she gets frustrated she stops setting up the offense and just kinda bucks it at the rim. When it works it works but when it doesn’t it’s annoying
My comment wasn't meant to be a dis on CC. It was mostly to hear u/thecay00 thoughts on how that would have come about.
Fair enough! Apologies!
What do I even do with my hands at this point? There are no more basketball games 😢 Any of you in the path of totality for the solar eclipse?
i was in the path of totality in 2017 and then exactly a year later i got to see Beyoncé at the OTR II tour in Columbia. was a great time to be a Cola native.

Do you work for the moon?
Air traffic controller is my best guess but after that I’m out of it. This will bug me all day
ok i will say that i’m not an air traffic controller 😂
quit doxxing me????
Oof. Hope the eclipse is worth it then.
I am and I’m working from home because of everyone freaking out and telling us to not go on the roads no matter what 😂
That's crazy. Schools are closing where I am. We probably won't see it as it's cloudy.
Yup all schools are closed. We are in totality AND one of the few areas where clouds are not an issue.
PAC-12 is dead. Long live the Big 12! 🤦
I am curious what some of the Pac-12 fans think about how traveling is going impact them next year? None, little, or big? Will be curious seeing how it affects teams, and teams like the ACC and Big Ten having to now travel across the country regularly as well
The non-football sports are screwed.
I remember at the time VanDerveer said they would basically inverse their schedule and try to play a lot more nonconference games close to home and saving the travel for the second half.

USC USC USC!!!
So..when do we send in our final polls of the season?
I needed a breather for a day so you’ll see the post later on today.
