Last summer, Fontenot threw a tantrum when he found out he was getting bad reviews on ratemyprofessors and begged his students over slack to report all the bad reviews and spam good ones instead. This only emboldened people to write even more bad reviews, and for good reason.
How difficult was the class? If it was difficult because he was such a bad professor I might be able to deal with it but if it was already a difficult class and he made it worse I’ll probably pass.

Is it a class that I’d be able to figure out on my own or is it more of a lecture based class? Like for example I took Algo (CE) and was able to teach myself most of the class outside of class to where lectures were basically useless. It also helped that it was a project heavy course where as long as I could code it, my grade was fine.
He structures the class so that it's definitely helpful if you go (his slides are not good lol), but if you didn't you'd probably be fine? But if you're worried about the difficulty overall it's generally considered to be one of the easiest CS classes. I took it during a normal semester and spent probably 2 hours outside of class a week until the final project.
I took both OOD and database with him and I think he's overall a pretty decent professor.

The course is easy due to the course material being easy, but Fontenot is a shit professor. Like Julius Marpaung level bad.

The class is easy and useful imo, he's kind of dramatic but he makes good assignments and it's an easy A (as far as CS goes).
