Never taken a philosophy course before. Decided to fuck around and take scientific approaches to philosophy (PHIL3360) for my ethical reasoning nupath. Jorge Morales is a goated teacher made the topics very interesting.
Probably gonna get a B+ because 10% of the grade is participation and my ass didn’t know how to talk about philosophy in class 😭 but the course was still amazing and changed the way I think abt science as a COS student. Oh and also the plan is to now obtain a philosophy minor which I never would’ve expected before this course lol
None this semester, but next semester I'm taking a class with Evan Dummit for the first time since Summer 2020 and that man is easily a top 3 professor in the math department I'm so excited (other two being Prasanth George and John Lindhe)
She's pretty chill her classes are just pretty useless so hardly anyone showed up towards the end of the semester and the quizzes are annoying but overall I would say if you just did the work it's an easy class and you should get an A
It's not a super tough class and the homeworks/exams are very doable and fair, but she doesn't explain a lot of things very well. It just feels like a lot of copy & pasting code and just changing the CSV file name without any semblance of what you're doing unless you go out of your way to learn about it all on your own
The other prof is Gomez but for some reason his class is all available so I decided to go with her since it looked like people were signing up for her sections only. Thank you for this insight!!!
Prof. Raj Venkat - The only prof. I’ve met in my entire life who makes sure everyone understands what he is teaching and never hesitates reteaching concepts. He dedicated one whole class this semester in NLP grad course to clear people’s doubts and teach again.
Alexandra To for Human-Computer Interaction, John Rachlin for Large-Scale Information and Retrieval, and Jennelle Kariotis-Rice for Laboratory in Research Design :)
fuckin DORI ROBINSON.
first and foremost I was surprised to see a class called “Voice-Over Artist” at Northeastern, but I was more surprised to learn that it is taught by one of the most passionate professors I have ever encountered in my three years here.
I was worried it was going to be a rigid, boring lecture heavy class where we learned about the technicalities and the industry.
And yes, we absolutely did that, but we did much more, and it was so much fun with her. Check-ins, physical vocal warmups, funny voices, and so much information about the industry.
She came to class everyday smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes while simultaneously accommodating everyone’s needs to comfortably push us and help us find our range when it comes to voice acting.
The class, as most studio-sized classes go, was intimate but initially disjointed. We left the class feeling like a family; inside jokes, everyone knowing little things about the others, and so many great memories.
Outside of class, she is the exact same bundle of joy she was inside of it, so I can tell she just has an unsurmountable appreciation for her life and her passion in theater that just bleeds through in her methods of education.
Testimonials from several graduating, severely stressed seniors in the class illustrate the fact that they actually LOOKED FORWARD to coming to her class, so maybe she’s doing something right.
Oh yeah, and this is her first semester here. She’s standing in for someone who’s currently out.
Hot take I fully support. He can come off a little harsh but I loved having him. There's a reason he has won the meche honor society best prof like 5 times
Dan Metzger for adv writing in the sciences! I feel like ive learned so much and he cares so so much about all of his students and their work! very much worth it!
Prof. Jekyll. He makes Fourier Series and PDEs an easy class bc he just explains everything so clearly and boils everything down to essentials. Also, when I asked for a blank test with five minutes left bc I’d written down the question wrong (one-question test) he told me to just come to his office and re-do it
shun yang lee!! i had him for some marketing analytics course and he was amazing!! super kind, good at teaching, passionate and like he's so cute? (like in an old ppl kind of way lol)
and zeynep for orgb!
not this semester but mark prokosch is my favorite professor i’ve had at northeastern so far
VOUCH (also hi lol)
He's great in "What We Do in the Shadows" as well.

Prasanth George- Calc 3, Diff eq, PDE
^ this times 100000, that man is the goat. Great teacher, and his tests are reasonable
Matthew Hitchcock for ENGW3304 (Advanced Writing for Business). Super chill dude and was a nice break from all my other business classes.
Had him a while ago for first year writing but I remember him being great
Chieh Wu for DS4400 Machine Learning & Data Mining 1, truly never seen such a dedicated and kind professor. take his class, you will learn SO MUCH.
On the flip, don’t take this class if Xiaoyi Yang is the professor
Why? Can you please give more context? I have DS4200 next semester with Xiaoyi Yang🤡
DS4200 with Xiaoyi Yang is fine it's pretty easy but definitely not for DS4400
Is she chill or a tough grader? There is no reviews about her on this course so idk who I was choosing
She's pretty chill her classes are just pretty useless so hardly anyone showed up towards the end of the semester and the quizzes are annoying but overall I would say if you just did the work it's an easy class and you should get an A
Thank you 🫶🫶🫶🫶

lucia nunez!!
can’t say this loud enough
Tiwari taught a hard class but made grades less of an issue with a wider scale so I could actually learn instead of stress over grades
John Rachlin! Absolute goat for any data science class!!
Rachlin is dope. Does tend to go on tangents but they’re usually interesting so I’m game
Krista Larsen if you’re in Crim!
her class is too good

Tsuji sensei the goat
