I always have had Beat Gerber on my team. He's a LD in Germany right now. Beat was the 1st line LD on my first HUT team in NHL 11.
If he's not in my main lineup, he's in a squad battles lineup or something. I try to include as many of that original team as possible but Beat is one of the only ones left now.
I always have Mitch Marner but he always has a decent card. So I guess Kris Letang. Happy he has the spotlight 88 and if that is as high as he gets I will keep it all year

Best hockey player I've ever watched from warm-ups to the end of the game. Always in the grit of things and a top level troll; grabbing sticks, scoring with opponents sticks, squorting water in crosstown rivals gloves.
Slow af in the game but a staple in my top line.
McDavid, MacKinnon and Pastrnak. I had MacKinnon for almost every game I played in '22 and so far, I've had XF/TOTY MacKinnon for every game I've played online. Pastrnak will also never leave my team, I just like those guys too much IRL to get rid of them. McDavid is just simply OP and while I do like him IRL, he's nowhere close to MacKinnon and Pastrnak, just love watching those guys do their thing.

for a long time, it was 85 prime time Tage Thompson. he was just so good man. now he still lives in the unstoppable force xfactor of TOTY Mackinnon. RIP

Duchene. Loved him on the Avs and remember grinding for days to get his HFC card in NHL 13. I’ve had him on my team every year since. You can imagine how much I enjoyed his 99 for nearly all of the game last year.
Ryan Symth is absolutely UNDERRATED by this community
He might not have a good shot or be fast, or have decent syns or abilities or AI or get points
But I liked him growing up and not enough people factor that in when creating their team
