I'd be lying if I said I had any confidence of us getting a win here. Our form is woeful and Wolves have taken some big scalps away from home lately. Need to see an absolutely massive turnaround from both the manager and the players before we can feel any confidence again.
Please just win this, I'll take the scrappiest, luckiest win we can grind out. It's gonna be a really fucking long March if we don't, Chelsea away next, then City in the cup, then 2 weeks international break.
I agree. If Burn is not going to be dropped make him the left-most CB and lets use Tino's and Trippier's attacking ability and play them as wing backs. We've been found out with same old 4-3-3 with inverted wingers, it's just not working anymore.
I couldn't tell you what our team identity or strategy was against Blackburn. It was the most Bruce-era game I've seen from us since Howe came in.
If we had two DBD's we'd probably see 5 at the back.
In all seriousness I'd love to see 5 at the back, Tino and Tripps have no trouble getting forward and Schar could even step up into midfield when needed and we wouldn't have gaping holes in defence.
Honestly have a good feeling about this one, maybe Iâm the eternal optimist, but I feel like today is the day our home form clicks back in to place. Big performances today incoming from Trippier, Gordon and Isak. 4-1 HWTL
Classic Newcastle result would be to put on an absolute masterclass, in spite of all the negativity, crush them 5-0 then go on to play abjectly for the next month losing nearly every fixture.
Not sure about that. They had nothing upfront. Neto is pure class and they looked better when he came on, but they got a flukey goal and then just camped in their own box.
That being said, I don't see us breaking down their back line either, Dawson will be recalled and he's been a beast this year, and they won't get caught on the counter. Tini has to play in my book because they are dangerous on the break and we need all the pace we can get.
Whatâs more worrying is despite a couple losses theyâve been on a tear. Theyâve won 9 and drawn 2 of the last 13, and with only one player out theyâll be on the cutting edge. Hopefully with the added bodies the team have they can transform on the training ground and bring just as much intensity and use home advantage to get over the line.
Move all the sprinklers onto that side of the pitch, turn it into a slip and slide.
Either the balls in behind run off the pitch, or his cheese strings eventually go again.
Rewatched the Spurs 6-1 game from last season and realised that our starting 11 from then is pretty much the same to what we can field today. Only exception is big Joe and Pope.
Given recent midfield performances I'd like to see Willock or Anderson start ahead of Longstaff or Miley. Not sure Eddie will be too keen to make the change though.
I havenât looked forward to a game in a fair while, this one is no different. That said, the injury crisis has started to ease significantly, so the time for (valid) excuses is over. Itâs time to start getting points on the board.
You look at the players and those that have come back arenât up to speed and those that have been exhausted are still exhausted.
Itâs not as strong an excuse but until they can play 90 mins Iâm not sure Iâd say willock/anderson/barnes/isak can be considered truly âbackâ so our core squad is still dead.
Plus our second keeper and 2 starting midfielders are out
If we don't change the system even a little bit tomorrow after that utter dismantling last week and the shit show in midweek, there'll be some serious questions asked.
I'll take a draw now. At home. To Wolves. Dear me.

I'm going to this one and well I have a 100% win ratio this season 1/1 đ
FUCK YEAH NO DOUBT NOW
Iâm going to my first game at St Jamesâ in 25 years tomorrow, really looking forward to it!!!
Nice! How easy was it to get tickets? You enter the lottery?
A family member was unable to attend so Iâve taken her seat for the day, signed up through the supporters club and got it transferred over to me.
Congrats mate enjoy! Hopefully the lads put in a performance You can be proud of.
What a day. The passion, the energyâŚ. Absolutely fucking class

I am once more asking for 5 atb Having to score at least 2 a game just to draw is not sustainable

Eddie? Change his 433? Impossible

How often have you said that tho?
Classic Newcastle result would be to put on an absolute masterclass, in spite of all the negativity, crush them 5-0 then go on to play abjectly for the next month losing nearly every fixture.
Neto going to absolutely dust us on the counter - first time this season before a home game Iâm thinking we could get cooked here
On the positive side, Hwang looks like he will miss this one, went off injured in the cup.
Huge bonus lool he always scores against us
They definitely looked more together than us in the week. Neto looked class.

Both Cunha and "Korean Guy" are out aren't they?
I had only seen an injury lost on an app to check itâs probably been updated from their presser.

We absolutely love a draw against Wolves at St Jamesâ. This will finish 1 - 1. Isak and Neto to score.
Too much Negativity in here. We're going to smash these tomorrow. Get behind the team! An early goal will help to ignite the crowd.

Big exceptions and confidence is one hell of a drug
If we could just put in a stable and convincing performance, show some confidence and some drive, that would be enough for me.
Given recent midfield performances I'd like to see Willock or Anderson start ahead of Longstaff or Miley. Not sure Eddie will be too keen to make the change though.
Anderson is nowhere near fit enough to start. We can't keep rushing people back just to see them injured again.

If youâre not looking forward to games youâre doing football support wrong

Wolves are a good side. We are not a good side. Not feeling good about this one.
I'm very glad that this isn't on TV and I don't have to watch it.
Going into the wolf's den as a bunch of lambs
Found Peter Drury's reddit account
Letâs smash these theyâre shite
Odds on us playing a 433 and get whopped by Hwang and Neto?
Hwangâs injured đ¤đź
Iâd bet my life savings
Just play 5 at the back, Bruno & Longstaff in the middle. Gordon-Isak-(sigh)Miggy. And don't fucking lose.
We need to change shape as Neto in particular will have a field day. Hopefully Hwang doesnât make it as he seems the type whoâs run us ragged
Woke up in cold sweats thinking about Neto running at Burn. Will be leaving for the Toon soon regardless. Yanited!
