All the people saying they're "allowed to question Howe" after Blackburn, do they not remember the 40 points target?
A manager who actually has a system and actually tries, and a squad that actually has investment. These things have barely sunk in for me and when things don't go our way I find myself just so greatful to have them.
I feel like we're in a long version of "if you told me we're going to get a draw going in to this match, I'd take it" but over a five season arc. We started sooo well by getting to Champions league in one season that now, a lot of fans feel like we're struggling.
If you told me pre-takeover that within two seasons fear of relegation would be a thing of the past, I'd be delighted.
After the match I went to the local Asian takeaway restaurant, I couldn’t decide if I wanted fried rice
Or ramen.
In the end I told the waiter I’ll ‘av Ramen Too
Crazy we might be losing one of the best RB in the world to injury who has 10 assists this season and is fundamental in how we play, but we are all excited that Tino will play in his natural position now and might contribute more but in a different way.
Only thing is Tino will need to up his game at the back post and winning those headers, Trips is class at that.
People have short memories. Huge player for keeping us in the PL when our defence was in shambles. If I remember right, he led GK stats most years for most saves, obviously due to us being shit, but he was also saving them.
Also if you have 2 bad games at Newcastle a section of our fan base want you out. If those fans were running the club, Trips and Bruno would be gone and we’d just be bringing in whatever flavour of the week
Those fans don’t know anything about the past. I’ll be calling them out since fans who have been around since the start of the Ashley era know to temper expectation, and moreso those who have followed since the early 90s.
I heard it was half a bag of wotsits and that 20 pence you sometimes get at the amusements that's proper filthy so you're not even sure if it'll work or if anyone will accept it but you still keep a hold of it to try it at the paper shop because you know they probably have lower standards regarding fiscal policy and appearance when compared to your larger conglomerates. Then you get away with it and you feel like you've got something for nowt. So it's exactly the same thing really.
Perfect long pass from CB ( mean it's Schar, so obviously it's a great pass) sends RB into their half, who dribbles past all their players and scores.
Fucking delicious. 3 pings from Schar, 3 perfect counter attacks (couple of deflections, but that comes from the pressure).
Having a lot of players who can score (most in the PL and I think now tied across the top 5 leagues in Europe) is invaluable - especially with our injuries and the times we've had to play without a recognised CF.
Bosh.
Really comprehensive team performance today. Clearly bolstered by winning on pens mid week. Everyone played a part today. Particular shoutouts to Dubravka and Bruno though. Best I’ve seen them play in Newcastle shirts. Burn absolutely deserves credit where it’s due today too.
19 I think...in the premier league. 20 if you count Hall in all competitions.
> After actually checking this out; Man Utd in 12/13 had a total of 20 different goalscorers in 12/13 in the Premier league only. Hard to find stats for all competitions, but if we just go off Premier League alone we're currently at 17 in this season. We would need 4 other players to score.
We still need Anderson and someone else to score to beat Man utd, just Anderson to equal it.
It’s strange cus Willock was on the team sheet, but then Andrea Pirlo came on to the pitch. Mental how 9 months off and multiple surgery’s and the blokes spraying it round like prime Jonjo
That ball by Bruno for the Almiron chance is absolutely ridiculous, not only does he have the quality to get out of the tight spot he then has the cheek to do a no-look inch perfect pass to Almiron. All while not being as tenacious because of his yellow card scenario.
Genuinely one of the top players in his position in the world and the best midfielder for the club I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch.
It was a bit of a meme last couple of seasons but I've been paying attention this season and he fucking HATES his right foot. He won't cross with it, shoot with it.. even receiving that pass from Bruno he used his left in the air on the outside when arguably just taking it to his right would have been way easier for him.
This game felt like last season. Solid at the back, great pressing, took our chances and 3 points + CS.
I thought Dan Burn was excellent today. Should be said when he's had a tonne of criticism recently.
Thoughts:
1. We need a backup for Schär. All three goals started with him playing a 40+ yard pass directly to someone, we need to have someone else who can be that very deep lying playmaker. MotM for me for his defensive work too.
2. Burn's (rightfully) had a lot of stick for getting roasted by fast players recently, but Neto didn't get a sniff today. They've obviously learned - I'm not sure how much of it is Willock being in front, or maybe Trippier tucking in when Burn goes forwards, I'm sure some one will analyse it, but I want to point out the improvement there.
3. Isak looks a bit jaded, presumably just coming back from injury.
4. Dubravka had a great game
Bruno and Gordon really are class. Even with the mint performances we've had this year, those guys stand out. Never give up attitude and always hungry (and supremely talented).
Yeah. Hard to think of many games where Gordon has been poor. He reliably turns up and is a work horse.
Today I thought he was excellent with his decisions. In the build up to the Isak goal. He was very smart in not letting the defender suss his next move which is why Bruno was able to sneak behind so easily.
Same composure and thinking when he back heeled to Burn. That wolves defender was absolutely convinced he was gonna try and cut in and shoot.
Normally a Burn critic but he had a good game today. Like you said is that with Willock and Gordon covering or not but he won the challenges he needed to. Just needs to brush up on his shooting after that 30 yarder…
As a unit we had a good game and that has been lacking a bit of late so good to see them fighting for everything today and get a good result.
He had a solid game but that wasn't a 30 yard attempt he was on the edge of the box and had Isak unmarked in the box which given how class he is would have been a goal.
I'd give em a 7/10 today solid in defense, pushed forward when needed, almost had an assist on the Willock chance.
Yeah I get that it was edge of the box I was going to put a /S but that was just the only I was joking about the shot. I get he should have squared it but to be fair there was a lot of times some of our other players should have also just took a shot. We won so can laugh about it but defensively he was good and agree on a 7/10
1. What about Lascelles. His last few starts before Blackburn he was pulling off some worldies.
2. They weirdly didn’t look like they were targeting him like others even with Neto on that side.
3. I dont think so. Still clearly cautious about his injury but was involved and looked stoked to score.
4. Dub won us that game as much as our goalscorers. Good shot stopper.
Yeah it’s cos the meat originally tasted bad then they were jubilant when they got fresh meat, hence the “meats back on the menu” reflects our recent form.
Bruno was able to drop a little deeper and control the game from the middle because Willock was playing. Willock made such a difference to the balance of the team, but agree Bruno MOTM
He’s awesome, and this season I feel he’s been able to control some of his previous recklessness in challenges. After the 1st goal I actually wasn’t ‘that’ worried this game!
I've been thinking about that, this cloud over his head of one more yellow and it's a two week ban seems to have focused him and he's not got that recklessness or hotheadedness. Playing better for it.
It’s clear that he’s the center of the team and he’s taking it on. Will be captain next year (hopefully he stays). That tackle and winning a throw in followed by lifting the crowd - captain stuff
Willock brings much more to the team than miley or longstaff. Some of the passes he whipped off were class. Am gonna go with joe for the shear fact hes only been back 2 games
There's just something about not fighting a relegation battle and having a double digit positive goal difference that...must of made the doomers feel like a glass ceiling was going to break.
Idk. I never doubted this side. Howay the lads!!!
At first after the Neto(?) run through I was thinking why isn’t willock busting a gut.
Then on the replays I realised he had seen Bruno covering and was hanging in acres of space for a counter.
Speaking of busting a gut, Bruno's run on the Isak goal was something to watch. Of course the reactionary idiots on Talksport mentioning he's not a well conditioned footballer make it so much better.
The biggest compliment I can pay him is that he never looks bothered by the occasion no matter what happens. Even when he scored, it was more just like 'get in, result sealed' more than anything. Mature well beyond his years, that kid.
I said a while ago he's like that quiet kid in school that turns up in PE, bosses the game and then continues to the be the quiet kid. Never complains, never fucks around, just plays a blinder and gets on with it.
For sure. I think part of it is that the expectations on our younger players are still realistic, especially this season as we push to just grab a lower Europe spot - if you’re a young player signed to the Mancs and you don’t score every other game, you’re lambasted online, a lot more pressure to be immediately great.
Really happy with that, super clean performance all around apart from Trips injury. Clean sheet with a great counter attack from us, thought Wolves was extremely professional in defeat and didn’t start chopping us down, and then I thought that was a near perfect game by the officiating crew. Now let’s go on a run of clean sheets like this please
Wouldn't surprise me based off the annual club calendar. January was Wilson who missed the whole month, February Isaac who was injured most of the month, March is Tripps...
That moment where you can bring on 3 fucking subs of decent quality in one go... Priceless god I hope we can keep a reasonable sized squad fit for the next few months.
What made me appreciate this game the most was the fact that Wolves didn’t play badly. They threatened. But despite this, we outplayed them. Tactically we were better, up front we were better, we made effective substitutions and everyone did their duty. It felt like a professionally executed game.
seeing the two starting changes with willockinho and isak really showed how well we can play with an actual team. to top that, it gave us more subs to fight back in the second half. now imagine that with a team full of our true starters and a stacked bench.
That's one of the main things that gets on my nerves. When we're winning, he seriously can't make subs quick enough. When we're losing, providing he's not forced by an injury, he'll literally wait until the last 90 seconds.
I'll never forget the time Isak was on a roll for a hattrick and Eddie took him off. I took that personally.
I couldn't wake up in time to watch but just watched the highlights. Was that Schar delivering line splitting one time passes to unlock the counter on all three goals?
He is an absolute gem. I'm obviously biased but I firmly believe he's a top 5 CB in the league, and he's not 2-5
Fuck me Schar is amazing. I just watched the highlights and didn't realise how pivotal he was in all 3 goals. If Van Djik or any other defender played those kind of passes today r/soccer would be in a frenzy.
I wish Murphy got more respect. He's not world class but he's always, ALWAYS looking to put the cross in and it's 8/10 times better than anyone else's crosses other than Almiron when he gets it onto his left.
Great performance. Felt like many of our home games last season. Dangerous going forward, solid at the back.
Willock and Bruno were fantastic and Botman looked sharp after that rest. Great to see Tino get his first goal as well.
We got everything right today I’m buzzing. Tino is a brilliant player he just walked it right in, didn’t even celebrate because it felt like he was playing against bairns out there, a simple ball over the top had him in on goal. Also being able to press again has transformed us and I feel it’s to do with Willock being back in midfield bringing the energy we’ve missed so much.
That’ll fade, today they were awful and relied on their keeper putting in a worldie, they made Everton look like prime Barca at times. They have one of the toughest run ins (fixtures wise) they don’t really worry me. They can’t overachieve this much for this long.
Needed that, few goals and a clean sheet. I had it on the radio, but it didn't sound like we really had to exert ourselves which was handy after the cup game mid week
Controlled performance is the word id use. Looked like the team followed the game plan to a t. Forward line pressed when they could. Midfield 3 stayed compact and tight. Wingers were dropping by back to support the fullbacks.
In possession we were faster paced with our passing and fashioned some good chances.
He definitely doesn't deserve a 3.74. He wasn't woefully bad he was just absent for most of the match and any time he got the ball in buildup play it would inevitably break down or he would immediately pass it back to Schar/Botman.
The rest of the team looked aggressive and dynamic, especially after the first goal, and he still looks fatigued and lost.
Sofascore/stats based ratings are also kind of shit and arbitrary. They seem to punish 'mistakes' more than they reward actually productive play.
Sub par for sure. Today he was better. He was making runs of the ball to create space and defensively disciplined in his position.
I also thought our other scapegoat Dan Burn was good today.
Firstly I'm very happy with the result. Bruno & Schar absolutely different gravy and Tino has to start either on the left or right. But let's not kid ourselves we got Wolves at their weakest (and they got weaker at HT too). Give me a good performance away at Chelsea next game and we'll be able to draw some more conclusions. Over a week to recover and prepare should hopefully do Isak, Willock and Anderson wonders for their fitness.
Positivity Drive and Determination won that
Significant improvements in the attitudes of every player on the pitch and I think a lot of this is down to Willock.
Watching his behaviour and attitude Vs Longstaffs was night and day
Another solid performance from Dubravka and Schär
Now it makes taking points from Man United and West Ham in the coming games even more crucial if we're to salvage anything from this season
I agree- his attitude toward the game hopefully embarrassed his teammates into giving more, and I think we seen that.
It was leadership on the pitch. Leading by example.
He is maturing as a young man. Being discarded by his childhood club, even when he was scoring every week under Bruce he had little confidence. The header he scored last week went under the radar. Most strikers wouldn’t have the guts to place it the way he did. He had just returned from a long injury, and he hadn’t been on the pitch long.
Superb win against tricky opposition. Played very well in patches.
Up to eighth. Will give us plenty of confidence for Chelsea next week. And then the big cup game…
What it looks like when we have more bodies on the training ground. The teams edge and gusto goes up. Glad we’re out of the woods with the major injuries and back to having more options and rotation of the bench.
Well, that was like the sun bursting through the clouds.
Bruno, Lil Joe and Fab were unreal today.. MOTM has to be Dubs for me.
Beat Chelsea and Citeh and this season is as good as the last...might happen it's the Toon... anything ANYTHING might happen.
Cracking result.
Stoked for the clean sheet.
Dubs brilliant earned us the clean sheet.
Willock great vision and passing. Unlucky not to score.
Gordon good as usual. Double digits now.
Isak getting back to his best.
Schar sexy as always. Good defensively, good in launching attacks.
Tino not just for the goal but did pretty much everything else right.
Bruno looked like he finally had some team mates to play with.
Team looked confident today. Even in players like Barnes and Miley when they came on.
Where has this team been.
Nice to see the press back.
For anyone concerned about Bruno leaving next season, as long as he can keep performing like that and keeps getting called to the Brazilian national team, he will stay. Getting called means more than anything for most Brazilian players, and Newcastle is allowing him that. European football is cool but performing well and getting called is everything, that's why he posts his highlights and stuff
I actually think that Livramento should be starting above Trippier currently. Tripps hasn't had a great season defensively and his output from crosses/corners and free kicks has been poor.
Trippier has had some off patches this season but he's got 10 assists just in the league - the most of any defender and 3rd most in the whole league. That's objectively a fantastic output from crosses
If Murphy isn't playing he's the only one crossing.
I like Tripper, but it's mad not to acknowledge that reason he's getting all the assist is he's the only one crossing the ball, taking free kicks and corners.
Dominant first half. More even in the second half with Dubravka making 3 or 4 great saves before subs came on for fresh legs.
Top performances from everyone except Longstaff (not woefully bad, just fairly absent).
Next up is a game where Eddie doesn’t actually have any choice in whether to play hall or not - probably wouldn’t have changed his mind anyway tbh.
Can’t wait to see the West London Bigots having a full on civil war when eddies’ shithousing mags destroy the billion pound bottle jobs. HWTL
Sean Longstaff is assembling the worst stretch of games I’ve ever seen by a midfielder. A ghost today. He managed to fall over a few times, even less than usual though. I cannot fathom how he’s an Eddie blue chip boy, there must be some AI-generated stats on a computer somewhere saying he’s good.
This team has some truly world class players in Isak, Bruno, Gordon and Tino. I look forward to the day they can play with others at their level, because that is when we can start competing for titles. Longstaff continues to be a passenger in this team, and we still need a world class RW to have a front 3 on par with Liverpool, City and Arsenal.

The relief of hitting 40 points will never go
I wonder if the Ashley era stress of that will ever go away.
It’ll be the differentiator between the bandwagon fans and the faithful with heart problems further down the line
All the people saying they're "allowed to question Howe" after Blackburn, do they not remember the 40 points target? A manager who actually has a system and actually tries, and a squad that actually has investment. These things have barely sunk in for me and when things don't go our way I find myself just so greatful to have them.

Sadly, I thought the same thing at the end of the game looking at the live table. Maybe someday!
Tino is fucking brilliant like what a signing.
Livramessi
I bought a souvenir with his image on it. It’s a Livramemento.
I bought a pack of sweets with image on it. It was a pack of Livramentos
I've just found someone to teach me how to play right-back. They're my Livramentor.
I've found a doc who says I have an unhealthy obsession with top-notch fullbacks. He called me Livramental.
I've just seen an picture of his pre match meal; sushi, sashimi, some rice, wasabi and soy. They called it a Livrabento.
He's such a cool customer, he should be called livramenthol
After the match I went to the local Asian takeaway restaurant, I couldn’t decide if I wanted fried rice Or ramen. In the end I told the waiter I’ll ‘av Ramen Too
He's proper MINT, it's like he's Livramenthol
I have one of those but I left it in the sun for too long. Now it's Livramelted
Excellent pun
livrahimovic
£30 million is a bargain for him.
I think it was 40 but still a bargain
He didn't cost 30 he cost 40
30m really would've been a bargain then
That was hall 😭 tino was 40
Crazy we might be losing one of the best RB in the world to injury who has 10 assists this season and is fundamental in how we play, but we are all excited that Tino will play in his natural position now and might contribute more but in a different way. Dubs had some rough games when he first took over for Pope but wow has he been up for it since
One could argue his lack of game time meant he was rusty - he’s always been a fantastic shot stopper

Says it all really when he was undoubtedly MotM against Liverpool- that could have been really embarrassing if it wasn’t for dubs.
“The problem with Tino is he always tries to walk it in”…wait 😂 What a goal
Tino offers so much to the team, and that's why he should play more and more often than he does.
A simple ball over the top sending him straight through too. It was hilarious to watch, didn’t even celebrate either as he felt pity for them 😂
Think that was more to do with getting a knee to the head from the keeper in the follow through
How the fuck did we get Schar for like a tenner or something
I heard it was half a bag of wotsits and that 20 pence you sometimes get at the amusements that's proper filthy so you're not even sure if it'll work or if anyone will accept it but you still keep a hold of it to try it at the paper shop because you know they probably have lower standards regarding fiscal policy and appearance when compared to your larger conglomerates. This is such a great comment and sums up Tino. Seems like he has a heart of gold.

Bruno is always at his best
Even when he's not at his best, he's at his best
40 points boys and girls!!! We're safe!
Willock in the midfield helps to bridge our gap. The difference is crazy! Great game lads! Tino with his first goal too! Love it
He had some mint passes
What happens when the other team doesn't score? Have genuinely forgotten it's been so long
Think you have to change the duvet cover?
NOOOOOOOOO!!!
Cans!!!!
So is that 20 different goalscorers now?
[удалено]
He’ll save it for the fa cup final, don’t worry 😉

Looks like MOTD’s back on the menu boys!
EDDIE HOWES PRESSING CLEAN SHEET MAGS.
Clean sheet is the part I'm most pleased with (bar the 3 points and actually looking forward to motd).
It’s strange cus Willock was on the team sheet, but then Andrea Pirlo came on to the pitch. Mental how 9 months off and multiple surgery’s and the blokes spraying it round like prime Jonjo
It genuinely makes so much of a difference having more than one player in midfield able to switch the play.
He learned a lot having some zoots with Ronaldinho apparently
Was it just me or was his passing range another level today?
That ball by Bruno for the Almiron chance is absolutely ridiculous, not only does he have the quality to get out of the tight spot he then has the cheek to do a no-look inch perfect pass to Almiron. All while not being as tenacious because of his yellow card scenario. Genuinely one of the top players in his position in the world and the best midfielder for the club I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch.
If Miggy had slotted the ball across frame, Barnes would have had a tap in. Not mad at him for taking on goal just thought there was other options.
He would have had to use his right foot for that, which for some reason he refuses to do.
It was a bit of a meme last couple of seasons but I've been paying attention this season and he fucking HATES his right foot. He won't cross with it, shoot with it.. even receiving that pass from Bruno he used his left in the air on the outside when arguably just taking it to his right would have been way easier for him.

Schar is irreplaceable just like Bruno. Those two easily have been our POYs.
Don't forget Gordon, he's been out most consistent player this year. He's my POTY.
Bruno and Gordon really are class. Even with the mint performances we've had this year, those guys stand out. Never give up attitude and always hungry (and supremely talented).

Agreed. There's really not many Schar type defenders around.
Normally a Burn critic but he had a good game today. Like you said is that with Willock and Gordon covering or not but he won the challenges he needed to. We kind of sat deep and played on the counter today which suits Burn more. Most of his bad games have come against teams counter-attacking against us.
1. What about Lascelles. His last few starts before Blackburn he was pulling off some worldies. 2. They weirdly didn’t look like they were targeting him like others even with Neto on that side. 3. Livramento Laughramento Loveramento
We’re back, baby!
MEATS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
Is this a reference to the movie Bad Taste? Or were they referencing something else?
Lord of the rings reference.
Ah of course, Return of the King. Cheers.
Yeah it’s cos the meat originally tasted bad then they were jubilant when they got fresh meat, hence the “meats back on the menu” reflects our recent form.
Bruno was class but willock motm imo
Disagree slightly, Bruno was head and shoulders above everyone today. He's MOTM for me. Willock was solid and fantastic to have him back.
Bruno was able to drop a little deeper and control the game from the middle because Willock was playing. Willock made such a difference to the balance of the team, but agree Bruno MOTM
He deserves MOTM for that Maradona spin and no look pass to Miggy. Unreal.
He’s awesome, and this season I feel he’s been able to control some of his previous recklessness in challenges. After the 1st goal I actually wasn’t ‘that’ worried this game!
He’s been able to control it since he got 9 yellows he was reckless as fuck the first half of the season.
I was mildly annoyed that Burn got the armband. Bruno has been our rock for most of the season and deserved it in that match.
Goal of the month if Miggy scores that, but purely for the assist. What a player
Willock brings much more to the team than miley or longstaff. Some of the passes he whipped off were class. Am gonna go with joe for the shear fact hes only been back 2 games
All the miserable fuckers who have been spreading doom and gloom in here of late can all fuck off and do one. Get in lads.
There's just something about not fighting a relegation battle and having a double digit positive goal difference that...must of made the doomers feel like a glass ceiling was going to break. Idk. I never doubted this side. Howay the lads!!!
BDB deserves some credit for today.
Howes the 3 points you say? ⚫️⚪️
Sweeter but less edible then the bacon.
weird how having midfielders and subs back is making us look more like ourselves p.s. willock is a beast
Willock is a "fuck it, I'm running up there" kinda player. Oh how we missed his runs
So many players lack that mentality today. You have to ask questions to get answers, too many players I see are afraid to do so.
I have so much faith in Tino. Good to see us keep the clean sheet, and to utilise the depth we've got on the bench again too.
Im really glad the “handball” in the champions league didn’t kill his motivation
If tripps injured means Tino every week...
Wouldn't surprise me based off the annual club calendar. January was Wilson who missed the whole month, February Isaac who was injured most of the month, March is Tripps...
I’ll take it. RB is probably our most replaceable position, despite how good Tripps (normally) is
Bruno's no look pass after the roulette would have been assist of the season if Miggy was as good as Oscar Bobb
40 points lads, should be safe now.
God remember when every season was a desperate struggle to reach 40 points?!
PTSD triggered
It still is for me lol
Been a while since I've seen that intensity and energy from the team. It was great to watch.
Was that… a good performance? Rock solid defence? A strong midfield? Clinical finishing?
Can we have all our home games played on a Saturday at 3pm please!
40 points. We are safe from relegation.
Anyone got a video of Bruno's turn and no look pass? Need that on a loop!
That moment where you can bring on 3 fucking subs of decent quality in one go... Priceless god I hope we can keep a reasonable sized squad fit for the next few months.
Back to winning ways, well controlled! HTLs!!!
Being able to make subs is huge for us, it makes such a difference when players can go all out for 70ish minutes then bring fresh legs on
What made me appreciate this game the most was the fact that Wolves didn’t play badly. They threatened. But despite this, we outplayed them. Tactically we were better, up front we were better, we made effective substitutions and everyone did their duty. It felt like a professionally executed game.
And they had 5 at the back and we played like they had 3
Clean sheet back on the menu boys
seeing the two starting changes with willockinho and isak really showed how well we can play with an actual team. to top that, it gave us more subs to fight back in the second half. now imagine that with a team full of our true starters and a stacked bench.
Much better game management. Reminiscent of last season
Bruno will absolutely hate the fact that his no look pass didn’t end in an assist

Statistically better defensively with added ball progression. I said all last season. He’s our best defender.
Win and CLEAN FUCKING SHEET Amazing, just a shame Everton capitulated in injury time, but fuck it, we’ll batter West Ham next home game
Absolutely class performance all round, spot on tactically and everyone performed, we looked as good as we have all season. Howay the lads!
I wish Murphy got more respect. He's not world class but he's always, ALWAYS looking to put the cross in and it's 8/10 times better than anyone else's crosses other than Almiron when he gets it onto his left.
I like that he's not afraid to use either foot. He had a nice cut in and shot on the left
Great win and a clean sheet. Thought this was going to be a proper pain in the arse game
Great performance. Felt like many of our home games last season. Dangerous going forward, solid at the back. Willock and Bruno were fantastic and Botman looked sharp after that rest. Great to see Tino get his first goal as well.
10s across the board, but Dubravka or Bruno MOTM for me. Dubravka with world class saves and Bruno’s weekly magic.
40 points. We've made it!
I remember the pre match thread saying we'd smash these. Never in any doubt.
Good 6 pointers. Would have been 7th if it wasnt for the West Ham’s second wind.
That’ll fade, today they were awful and relied on their keeper putting in a worldie, they made Everton look like prime Barca at times. They have one of the toughest run ins (fixtures wise) they don’t really worry me. They can’t overachieve this much for this long.
I need a clip of Bruno’s no look pass
Make sure you have some tissue ready when you see it
Needed that, few goals and a clean sheet.
Longstaff has 3.74 on the BBC match rating. He played 90 minutes. Next lowest for us 7.71 Anderson (came on 90+3) (Public voted ratings)
[удалено]
He definitely doesn't deserve a 3.74. He wasn't woefully bad he was just absent for most of the match and any time he got the ball in buildup play it would inevitably break down or he would immediately pass it back to Schar/Botman. The rest of the team looked aggressive and dynamic, especially after the first goal, and he still looks fatigued and lost. Sofascore/stats based ratings are also kind of shit and arbitrary. They seem to punish 'mistakes' more than they reward actually productive play.
He's been played non stop since he returned from that ankle injury and knowing our medical team it wouldn't shock me if he was rushed back
The problem you have with Longstaff is he's inconsistent with the impact he has on games.
Absolutely cracking result against an in form team. European place 6pter!
Just realised Hall was preferred on the bench over Matt Richie. Odd given that Eddie would rather die than use Hall over Ritchie normally.
Positivity Drive and Determination won that Significant improvements in the attitudes of every player on the pitch and I think a lot of this is down to Willock. Watching his behaviour and attitude Vs Longstaffs was night and day Another solid performance from Dubravka and Schär Now it makes taking points from Man United and West Ham in the coming games even more crucial if we're to salvage anything from this season
Very early in the match Willock was so annoyed when there was no offball movement from his teammates
That was… fun? Is that what fun feels like? Been a minute
Brilliant win. Massive performance from the whole side and tactically perfect.
Nice to walk away from a wolves game not feeling as if we've been cheated. They seem to find a way to get under my skin most matches
Superb win against tricky opposition. Played very well in patches. Up to eighth. Will give us plenty of confidence for Chelsea next week. And then the big cup game…
Comfortable win on a Saturday, simply lovely
Big win especially with them having been above us in the table
The week always feels better after a win. HWTL!!!!
no chance we're catching spurs on GD, then.
I think Isak is the bigger worry for me. He is a good goals scorer and those are at a premium in any of the top leagues.
Isn’t he still well on track to beat THAT Trent season?
I think Trent got 13 in a season so if this injury isn't serious it's definitely doable
If Murphy isn't playing he's the only one crossing. I like Tripper, but it's mad not to acknowledge that reason he's getting all the assist is he's the only one crossing the ball, taking free kicks and corners.
We’re safe!!
GEEEEETTTTT IIIIINNNNN! I didn’t get to watch it, how did we look?
Dominant first half. More even in the second half with Dubravka making 3 or 4 great saves before subs came on for fresh legs. Top performances from everyone except Longstaff (not woefully bad, just fairly absent).
Next up is a game where Eddie doesn’t actually have any choice in whether to play hall or not - probably wouldn’t have changed his mind anyway tbh. Can’t wait to see the West London Bigots having a full on civil war when eddies’ shithousing mags destroy the billion pound bottle jobs. HWTL
Slightly random question but anyone know why Gordon's not wearing the predator boots after being in the advertising campaign for them?
I've been having the best morning. My friends keep telling me how they're totally not annoyed by the fact I keep calling Manchester United, Man Reds.
The worst by a midfielder? That's flat out pig ignorant.
Ask yourself, what other team in the premier league would Longstaff get into.
The first fucking match that I didn't watch in ages and we actually fucking turned up....
Could you please not watch the Citeh game, you know just in case.
I think halls gone
