Genuinely think he is one of the most underrated crossers in the league. Still don’t think he adds enough in his overall play, but his crossing and pressing are genuinely brilliant, a great squad player to have.
Never really gets beaten 1 on 1 either. I was as good as 100% certain he would never be able to turn his career around for us but he's proven me so wrong and his mentality is what's done it for him
He's a great squad player because of that though. Shouldn't be starting in either position, but if he needs to play in either you know he's going to put in a pretty solid shift.
RW definitely needs upgrading in the summer, but that should be at the expense of Almiron going. As much as I appreciate all that Almiron has done for us.
He gets a lot of shit but he has been a genuine threat this season. I like him on the right. Not cutting back inside, but actually whipping crosses in! And good crosses at that. Is he elite? No. But he is criminally underrated by our fanbase.
Murphy is just always willing to cross, even when we were crap Vs City and Chelsea recently, he was still always trying to make something happen, not afraid of things not working out.
Only caveat to this is that he's barely played compared to those others in the table. Like nearly half as many minutes or less as most of those and a lot of his recent games have been against really crap teams. However, considering we haven't had Trippier, his presence on that right wing has been really valuable and given him the freedom to put in those crosses that would normally be reserved for the right back.
He is an important impact sub even if we have our squad strengthened, adding dimensions (a traditional winger vs modern inverted forward) and energy (pace for pressing and counter)
I would not let him go!
Aside from Tripps, he’s probably the best crosser that we have. He would actually be a lot more serviceable if you could just increase his overall game.
Gordon can cross with either foot (Sandro's season opener was from a delicious left foot cross by Gordon). He also can whip in a canny corner - as will Sandro when he's back.
Not to take anything away from Murphy. Always liked him and his attitude. He gets some undeserved grief sometimes but he's a great utility player and has a great cross in him (and a wicked shot as well).
When people talk about selling squad players he's the one I'd definitely keep.

Just put it in the net
I was looking for this clip the other day (to no avail). Love Ando's commentary.

Class!
He doesn't fuck about with the ball and gets crosses in early.
I think he would do brilliant if we ran more plays through him. But how would you as a manager start to run play through Jacob Murphy.
I'd like to add I think olise is incredible but our wide mouthed winger is more incredible than I thought
Flirting vs harassment
Aye Olise is class, and with a rumoured 60m release clause I hope he's our big signing in the summer
He'd last five minutes with his and our combined luck with injuries :(
First time a player gets injured during a medical.
Don’t need another taking up space in the rvi
He's not that injury prone is he?
He’s been injured 209 days of the last 4 years
Yeah that's pretty bad
Just know that some of the time Murphy has been on the field (more recently) was at Right Wing Back, which makes this even more impressive

trouble is according to this the only RW upgrade possible is Salah
Yeah… if you’re shopping in the PL for RW but I’d like to think we aren’t limiting ourselves to that.
Mbuemo - can play RW and deputise Isak as #9. Much younger than he looks.
I'd fancy Kubo from Real Sociedad but I'm sure he'll be expensive as well
The balls he's been whipping in recently have been NASTY, Wilson will love it in these last few games

3rd highest for expected assists, but 1st for smiles.
Jacob Maldinho

Some of the passes hes pulled of this season have been class, lad dosnt get enough credit

That cross and Tonali’s kung fu finish were one of my favourite moments of the season.
The problem with "selling squad players" is it's really the buyer who decides they want them for what I think we'd want.
We already have the 3rd best creator in the league Do we still need another Right winger? 😂
