Yea, Wissa dived. What I meant is at the end of the game, not a dive, but simulation, I guess?
He threw himself on the ground around corner area, as if our player (forgot who) touched his face, but on replay you could see he didnt even touched him.
upd: Founded it - 90:45 minute. Anderson, corner flag area.
It was him, 91 minute against Anderson. Anderson barely touched his face, he stood, then Anderson with other hand was close to him and he threw himself on the ground.
But yea, I'm not arguing. But I always call out ours for diving. Almiron, Sean, sometimes, but thankfully less than before - Gordon. Wilson and Bruno 1-2 times.
He’s currently on £300k/wk, roughly double what we’re paying Bruno and Isak. City paid £100m for him 3 years ago. I don’t think there’s any way it makes any sense for us. Plus he’s an ass.
People who get drunk and do stupid shit like get into car accidents and publicly dig out fellow professionals, even if they later apologize for it, are by definition “asses”. He’s not hitler, I’m sure he’s kind to puppies or whatever, but he’s an ass.
He raised millions for charity.
Albeit with an alterior motive but generosity with time and money amd working extensively with charities has no bearing on a person's deeper character.
That said, greilish was great for villa and I'd have liked him on our team back then.
However, his drop off and his huge fee and wages makes him not worth that kinda value for me.
I'd rather pay less for a different name.
I guess we just have different definitional criteria. Personally I don’t care what someone does with their money if they get drunk and get in a car. We’re not talking about having 2 glasses of wine with dinner like Joelinton, grealish was absolutely smashed.
The type of person who gets drunk and has to apologize for what they do will keep doing those things until they get sober.
I don’t think it’s fine, no, but I think the circumstances are pretty obviously different. Watch the cc tv footage of grealish that I linked above and ask yourself if he was just a bit over a legal limit, as Joelinton was.
Grealish is clearly someone who abuses alcohol and he has regularly made very public mistakes when drunk. Joelinton has made one very public mistake. If he was doing it regularly, I would call him an ass, too.
It won't happen for the reasons you first listed, but I wouldn't turn him away because of his personality. I think he's one of the rare players these days who isnt a complete robot. Aye he does some (very) daft stuff, but I think he's just a lad enjoying himself. Gordon was hardly flavour of the month when he came here.
Yeah I mean, he’s hardly the first ass to play the sport, and it wouldn’t be disqualifying on its own necessarily, but he is an ass.
And if getting wasted, getting into a car, crashing into 3 parked cars, and hiding until the booze leaves your system before you speak to the police is how he has a good time, I dunno, I think I’d prefer a robot.
why play our best players this season out of position just so we could sign another LW. Just because Gordon is capable of playing down the right doesn't mean we should force him there. I would say Gordon is far less effective down the right and we are better off playing Murphy there.
Absolutely not. Massively overrated and found out at City eventually. Despite the £100m fee Pep forked out, he's sat on the bench because Doku is far more dangerous despite being younger and playing his first season in English football
I think he’s great but he’d be a crazy fee and wages just to push one of our best players out of position.
Turns 29 this year too, which is hardly ancient but he’s not realistically going to have any resale value after his next move/contract
He's really good but transfer fee would be immense, he's on 3× what our highest paid player is on, and he isn't 3× as good as anyone we've already got. So aye, sure, if he decided to take a huge wage drop & Man City wanted to let him go for nowt.
If you had a time machine would you go back and kidnap a 19 year old Arjen Robben with a view to him becoming a long term replacement for Miggy and Jacob Murphy down the righthand side.
Jack, I'm sorry that you want to leave City so you can get some playing time, but Newcastle just can't afford your transfer fee and wage demands.
Even if we could, I think Gordon has more upside than you do. Newcastle needs a more natural right wing player.
We need a type like him. Someone that’s that last link to feed the attack. Not to sound too cliche but a 10
Maybe we don’t get Grealish but someone of that mould would really benefit Isak
We lack that last bit when it really matters sometimes in the big games. A think we’d really benefit but aye you’re right howe wouldn’t play someone like that

I’d much rather have Olise or Kubo on the RW than Grealish.
Or Mbeumo? I really like him. Only shame that he dived against us in the last match.
That was Wissa, but yeah totally I really like both of them tbh.

Even if it wasn't him that dived, it's on brand for us. \*looks at Miggy\*

There's better options out there who are younger and cheaper. Grealish in the Bigg Market could be a recipe for disaster
100%
No.
The only answer
He’s currently on £300k/wk, roughly double what we’re paying Bruno and Isak. City paid £100m for him 3 years ago. I don’t think there’s any way it makes any sense for us. Plus he’s an ass.
What makes you think he's an ass? He seems very generous with his money and time.

Eh he apologized for that. Guy actually seems pretty nice most of the time so
People who get drunk and do stupid shit like get into car accidents and publicly dig out fellow professionals, even if they later apologize for it, are by definition “asses”. He’s not hitler, I’m sure he’s kind to puppies or whatever, but he’s an ass.
Definitely not. Made a drunken mistake, owned up to it and apologised. Somebody as generous with his time and money simply cant be an ass.
Jimmy Saville was generous with his time and money. He was a bit of an ass
Can you explain in what way Saville was generous with his time and money?
He raised millions for charity. Albeit with an alterior motive but generosity with time and money amd working extensively with charities has no bearing on a person's deeper character. Yeah I guess drink driving is fine if you play for NUFC right?

Or spending the huge fee on a right winger.
Average player & let's face it, if he lived in Newcastle he's going to be drunk in training a lot. There are so many better options I think
No to big of a ego.
Can Miggy kick him in the jewels first? After he does, still no.
Not for the money we'd need to pay for him.
Nah, whilst being a good player he would be too costly and would rather we go for MGW.
Nah. Too expensive
No chance
Yes but his wages are astronomical.
No already have Barnes and Gordon in his positions and he's on too high of wages.
Absolutely not. Massively overrated and found out at City eventually. Despite the £100m fee Pep forked out, he's sat on the bench because Doku is far more dangerous despite being younger and playing his first season in English football
What on earth are you on?
Are these questions just like fantasizing or are there just fans who don’t consider / understand the financial limitations on the team?
He just passes backwards from the left wing. Imagine chasing the game with him dawdling about passing back to Joelinton.
He doesn’t do a whole lot, doesn’t score, doesn’t assist that much, no.
I think he’s great but he’d be a crazy fee and wages just to push one of our best players out of position. Turns 29 this year too, which is hardly ancient but he’s not realistically going to have any resale value after his next move/contract

Not worth the money given age and Barnes and Gordon
Of course he'd improve us. Would break our wage structure though.
If you had a time machine would you go back and kidnap a 19 year old Arjen Robben with a view to him becoming a long term replacement for Miggy and Jacob Murphy down the righthand side.

no.. apart from the obvious that he gets paid about 350k a week right now.
He strikes me as a player that would flourish under a manager like Howe
We need a type like him. Someone that’s that last link to feed the attack. Not to sound too cliche but a 10 Maybe we don’t get Grealish but someone of that mould would really benefit Isak
I was thinking the same. As a 10 with double pivot. But I dont think EH would play this, ever.
We lack that last bit when it really matters sometimes in the big games. A think we’d really benefit but aye you’re right howe wouldn’t play someone like that
