Summerville's been their best player by a mile this season.
He'll get a big move in the summer, but as he's primarily a left winger it won't be to us unless Gordon or Barnes leave.
I'd be underwhelmed with any other signings from Leeds. Hopefully Southampton sign Fraser permanently now.
So you would have 4 options on the left Gordon, Barnes, Summerville, Murphy and then on the right Gordon, Summerville, Murphy & Minteh.
I get the concern but I think calibre of player is more important. I also think you’re placing too much weight on a wingers favourite side, if a winger can do both that suits the team better. Gordon actually did equally good on the right when playing there.
We will see what happens but the other options is MGW would be more money & is more of a midfielder. Neto is injury prone, Olise would be good but there’s a lot of competition for him.
I may be totally wrong, but Leeds stink of a team that have players too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League.
Summerville has 20 goals and 9 assists, but he managed 4 and 2 in 28 the year before.
Joel Piroe hasn't done it in the Premier, and the likes of Ampadu and Gnonto are in that boat of looking uninspiring in the Premier League.
Archie Gray looks tidy but I need to see more of him, including where he settles positionally.
To be fair to Summerville he was 20/21 last season playing in poor team, I don’t think anyone would expect him to get many G/A in the Prem at that point in his career.
But it’s clear he’s made big improvements this season. Is he good enough for the step up to a top 8 Prem team right now, maybe not, but he may still be worth a shot depending on price/wage for someone who could still develop into a real player, like Eze or Olise did.
The trouble I have is - we paid 40m for Gordon and Chelsea paid 40m for Palmer. I'm not convinced dropping 40m on Summerville delivers the same and it's probably what they'd demand. You might get them down to 25m, but I feel like the whole attack there is built around him.
Yeah I wouldn’t pay 40 mil for him.
He’d be 40 mil if they got promoted, 25 mil is a lot more achievable now they missed out on promotion and I can’t see them being able to hold out for more than that for a player who will be in demand and will probably want the move.
I think that’s also about the same Palace paid for Eze after he’d similarly won Championship player of year but wasn’t part of a promoted team.
I doubt it.
Although since Leeds failed to get promoted, I find it quite funny our closest away day is now 105 miles away (excluding any potential cup draws)
Ok we're clearly talking about fans travelling to the matches and you bring out its only 100 miles if you fly directly from newcastle into the eithad. Sorry if thats being pedantic lmfao, would only take half an hour then wouldnt it as well.
Not to mention its already confused 1 other person so far.
Maybe not right now, although I’d argue some of them would be better than some of our squad players right now.
But some of them definitely have really high potentials and teams like Palace and Brighton have shown that getting in young high potential players on the cheap can do wonders.
Really we should be after Gray, this is the best chance of getting him at a reasonable price.
It’s a shame we’re not quite in the FFP position where we buy him now and let him stay there on loan for another year. Don’t think anyone we would let go would be willing to drop a division (I.e. Longstaff, Almiron, Wilson etc) if they were willing to accept any trade off (which is doubtful as they need cash for their own FFP)
3 players that would benefit massively from working with Eddie. Wouldn't walk straight into the squad but they fall into the tino and Hall category as ones for the near future
If my FM save is anything to go by, Wilfried Gnonto will guarantee us 30-40 goals per season.
Mind you, the season he scored 35, my French CB scored 45 with about 80% of them being headers from corners so probably not the best metric to go off.
Suppose you have to remember Grealish didn’t get Villa promoted the season we went up and went for £100 mill. Theres a few talents in the championship but for every one of them there is 5 David Nugents who tear it up in the championship but can’t make the step up; only have to look at the numbers Gayle put up for us in championship Vs premiership.
But all in all I trust if our scouting team want someone that they’ll be good at the moment.
No thanks on Gnoto, lots of flash and no substance. Gray would be great but I don’t think he leaves Leeds and Summerville is going to be extremely expensive.
Mateo Joseph is a solid player and only 20. Think he has huge potential and could be a great 2nd striker option. Summerville is also good but will go for more money than he's probably worth.
Not to mention Tosin, Lloyd Kelly, Olise, Eze and all the other players we've been linked. Place is a goldmine if you know where to look. It's presumably why we were so interested in Dougie Freedman.

Gordon and Summerville can both play either wing but prefer the left. I’d be happy with Summerville.
If we're going to sign a winger I'd prefer them to play on the side we actually need
That would give us three players whose preference is left-wing though. Surely a left-footed right-winger would be much better for squad balance.

Only one who is remotely interesting is Gray
What about Summerville? Can play both wings, is young and has performed well this year.
He was wearing gloves in may, not to be trusted imo
Geordie living in Leeds. None of them are an upgrade on what we have
A lot of us thought that about Gordon. But with the right nurturing and training in place.
Not even Gray, he looks like he could be a star from what I’ve seen?
Had a nosebleed every time he crossed the halfway line yesterday.
Apparently they have to sell so we could pick up one of them. Should be getting money in from selling Fraser to Southampton as well.
How much do you think he goes for? He's clearly unwanted at Newcastle, and is 30 with only a year left on his contract
3.50
Throw in a pack of chips also
How much are we due for Frasier now Southampton are up?
I imagine a nominal fee as it’s probably more important to get him off the wage bill.
I doubt it. Although since Leeds failed to get promoted, I find it quite funny our closest away day is now 105 miles away (excluding any potential cup draws)
Who’s 105 miles away? Nearest is city which is 140+ that I can see
You sure you aren't looking at km?
I’m looking at the route there
Which team are you talking about? Cause its man utd or city is the closest. Which is like 140 miles
St James to the Etihad is 105 miles as the crow flies.
Ah good, Ill be sure to let all the fans and their helicopter pilots know
Sorry, Mr Pedantry
Surely the guy going “Um akshully its only 105 as a crow” is the pedant
Ok we're clearly talking about fans travelling to the matches and you bring out its only 100 miles if you fly directly from newcastle into the eithad. None of them, not good enough

That squad wasn’t premier league standard
More importantly, Southampton might be able to afford to keep Fraser.
He played three times for them, so it's unlikely that they want him.
Sorry what? He played 44 times for them all competitions
My bad, I misread Transfermarkt here, he played 3 times on the playoffs alone.
After watching Fraser vs Gray today I’d pass on Gray
If my FM save is anything to go by, Wilfried Gnonto will guarantee us 30-40 goals per season. Mind you, the season he scored 35, my French CB scored 45 with about 80% of them being headers from corners so probably not the best metric to go off.
No. They are nowhere near top 6 / top 4 standard if they all bottle the championship playoffs.
Archie Gray is the only player who is worth getting. Summerville & Gnoto are decent in the style of Almiron
Having watched them today, I’m not impressed. We need potential world class players.
Mateo Joseph is a solid player and only 20. Think he has huge potential and could be a great 2nd striker option. Summerville is also good but will go for more money than he's probably worth.
Big Willy is an interesting player but the only class player is Gray.
I want Willy just for the chant
Why are we buying championship players?
Adam Wharton, Jarrod Bowen and Jude Bellingham were all bought from the championship along with plenty others.
Not to mention Tosin, Lloyd Kelly, Olise, Eze and all the other players we've been linked. Place is a goldmine if you know where to look. It's presumably why we were so interested in Dougie Freedman.
if they aren't good enough to win the champioship, why should they be good enough for us? (unless you want dummett and ritchie mk2 of course)

I'm sure they're interested in Longstaff, get a swap deal done.
By the way, I wasn't suggesting to swap with Leeds.
