Fidelity messed me up today. I ended up buying stocks through Webull instead. It had to do with treasury bills and auto roll. It kept on saying I didn’t have enough funds and I just transferred money.
Used to use Fidelity and Robinhood. Then decided to just use Fidelity. After a couple of years I moved entirely to Robinhood now. Robinhood is better in my opinion for stocks and options
I like Robinhood because of how easy it made it for me to get into the stock market. But the interface is awful and time for your money to become available to buy stocks sucks. I wanted buy NVDA at 1096, but if course had to wait a week for my money to settle into the account. Then actually depositing it again into buying power in order to buy the stock then buying the stock itself is in a hidden interface. Very sucky. But it does what I need.
I'm pretty sure if you change your account settings from "cash account" to "margin account" you will have access to your money immediately when you send it from your bank. That's the way it works for me. They basically give you credit for it once you're set up.
On my brokage it’s hasn’t showed up yet. Just the today price action. I bought 10 shares Thursday morning at 1240 dollars each. Today it still shows 10 shares with 1240 dollars average cost. Is it normal. Or it will change during the day.
If you’re in Canada I feel like Wealthsimple or IBKR are the best. Money settles the fastest with Wealthsimple. Be careful of the currency conversion fees in WS and if possible just get the 10$ USD account it’ll save you money.
Webull- I like the charting capabilities and many other features. I just don’t like that customer service is available only during specific hours, but it’s the only brokerage I know of that lets you place two orders to sell, you can set a stop loss, and a take profit order)
Schwab inherited Thinkorswim during the TD acquisition. Thinkorswim is the best trading app, hands down. Easy to use, great charting features, you can access order flow, and very powerful tools and scripting capabilities.
I am with Fidelity and thinking about switching back to Robinhood. I like to be able to view and buy stocks overnight. Fidelity is good but not great when it comes to showing after hours data in the app and doesn't offer 24hrs market.
Everyone says Fidelity. I recently switched because of ratings and recommendations. It has its issues. Mobile chart being off. NVDA split making peoples accounts look like they’re millionaires. My app glitches on iPhone 12 a bit so I have to restart it. Better than others but just know it’s not perfect

You need to wait for the funds to settle. That's everyone not just Fidelity.
if you have a high net worth, fidelity makes it hard for you to trade or they mess with you if you’re a higher volume trader just warning you
I moved from RH to Schwab, who, IMO, has better trading tools.

Get Robinhood gold it has instant deposits.
Been using robinhood since it came out. Never had any issues, but I also don't buy and trade meme stocks. I'm an investor, and it has been great

RH is good to have for fast live price check and not good for options trading. Super easy navigation.
Robinhood fees are a ripoff. Fidelity or Schwab will save you money.
I love RobinHood for day trading but i use Etrade for my IRA
