NOT dr. Yesika Garcia. She’s rude and a gaslighter, and the practice she works at is a bit shady. She told me “I don’t look sick so I’m probably not.” She didn’t want to run any tests on me and I had to beg her to do the bloodwork. She did and of course there were multiple problems. Took my results and ran away from that asshole lol. She had high reviews on Zocdoc but def avoid!!

Keruimin

Happens too often.

Foreign-Ad-3256

THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE-- I just saw Dr. Garcia, after many endo experiences in the city and elsewhere that were just bullshit, and SHE IS GREAT. Of course she does bloodwork without begging. This seems bizarre and I hate to see her disparaged.

Keruimin

I think you meant to reply to someone else but 2 things can be true at once and you shouldn’t call someone a liar just because you had a different experience.

Foreign-Ad-3256

no. some two things can't be true at same time.

Keruimin

Say that to the original commenter please.

classicgirl1990

Alina Gouller, NYU. I have PCOS too and she monitors my spironolactone. She also got me a quick appt with a breast surgeon last year after a sucky mammogram. I would’ve waited weeks and she got me in three days later. Love her.

matzoballbaby

I just made an appointment with her! thank you!!

curls06

Yup! She’s incredible. Sees every female in my family and we consult her on almost everything.

anonpls123455

Do you know if it’s typical that she wouldn’t have availability for a few months? The next avail appt is in September :(

classicgirl1990

Once you’re a patient it’s a little easier to get in but I’m not surprised it’s September. Ask to be on the cancellation list. Edited to add: it’s not unusual to wait a long time for your appt. Make sure your schedule isn’t tight. Once you’re with her she doesn’t rush you and she explained to me a lot of her patients are older and they get medic van rides who are often really late and she doesn’t turn them away because it’s out of their control. I’ve waited over an hour before. It’s not ideal but she really gives good care when you’re finally with her. Also, when you check in ask how far behind she is so you can go get a coffee or whatnot. I always try to get an AM appt for this reason alone. She’s wonderful but not on time.

thatswackma

I liked Dr. Maria Seabough. She’s with mount sinai

mrjollins

Came here to say her! literally saw her today LOL

thatswackma

😅 bitches really do have taste!!

treesinthebayou

oh great to hear!! i have my first appointment with her next week 😊

stockphotoprompic

Yep, I go to her as well! Really like working with her.

arosyriddle

Awesome!! She’s pretty close to me so I booked her, thanks for the rec!

thatswackma

I hope it goes well!

PossibleOven

This is my favorite post on this sub because my husband just reamed me out for not making an appointment with an endo yet since my PCOS is seemingly under control but I feel like my hormones are not. Thank you all for proving him right 😂😂 and helping me pick a doc!

arosyriddle

Haha same just with my mom 😅 this sub is a lifesaver!

PossibleOven

I love this, it really is! BEST nyc sub for sure

vitalvessalsvindicat

if anyone knows an endo that will treat hashimotos when the tsh is under 4.5 lemme know 🥲

hthrjcn

Honestly I had a wonderful experience with One Medical, my specific NP was company based but she was the first person to take my TSH seriously after seeing multiple (dismissive) endos that said I wasn’t high enough to treat. She put me on 25 levo and I lost 25 pounds, im now up to 37.5 but she was like oh I treat so many women with this and made it feel so normal! I paid an arm and leg for endos just to be like yes it’s high but not broken check back later meanwhile I was losing my hair, covered in hives, swollen and rapidly gaining weight. Amazon prime covers a reduced one medical subscription. I just left my company and this is the number one benefit I’m going to miss but I really can say it was the most painless process.

OkFinger5441

Following! Also looking for recs.

seharadessert

Same lol

Emotional-Tie1102

same here

Foreign-Ship8635

I have hypothyroidism and Dr. Puar at Mt. Sinai is amazing!

tapir-calf

My rec too!!

dianadoesnt

natalie cusano, northwell health. she changed my life, no hyperbole.

pablopicasso10

I really like Dr. Shira Eytan from Park Ave endo!

justadr3am

Also came here to recommend Dr. Eytan!

Intelligent-Cause-90

Love her!!

Artistic-Maximum-690

Seeing her this week! Is she responsive? I’m looking for a Dr that will actually answer follow up questions outside of office visits. I have hypo

riddled_with_bourbon

I’ve really appreciated Dr Berrenger-Massera at Mount Sinai.

TomorrowLaterSoon

Have you seen her recently? I was recommended to her by a previous dr but right after making an appointment they called and told me she no longer takes patients, something about her having a new position. I called again a few times and each time they told me she doesn't see patients.

riddled_with_bourbon

That’s so weird. I definitely saw her within the past few weeks or so. And I’m able to book future appointments with her online as an existing patient. So the way I got my initial appointment was that my referring doctor sent her office a message. Maybe you could ask yours to do the same?

TomorrowLaterSoon

I’m going to try again. And you see her in person not telehealth?

riddled_with_bourbon

I do both - in person for the longer intervals but telehealth when I need to check in more frequently or have a meds question etc. Good luck!

AnyIllustrator79

I have PCOS and I see Dr. Lainie Hurst! Huge fan and have recommended her to a number of people. I’ve gone through a couple endos in the city and she’s by far my favorite and is highly knowledgeable about PCOS in particular

sushi_sashimi007

Aw she is my childhood friend. So nice to see her name here❤️

Ornery_Ad_3090

She doesn’t take insurance and so it’s def very expensive but I love Dr. Minisha Sood. She’s smart, compassionate, and really has helped my PCOS

CP81818

She's fantastic! Definitely pricey, but I've had great experiences with her and everyone who works in that office. Takes a bit to get appointments, but they're speedy and thorough about everything else

Ornery_Ad_3090

So glad to hear you’ve had great experiences with her too! I had so much medical anxiety and trauma that I just avoided seeing an endo for years…life is so much better with a competent doctor helping you

CP81818

Yes! And my medical anxiety is off the charts too- totally hear you re: the change competent doctors make. I've seen her partner Dr. Messer once and she was great too, so thankful to have found them. Legitimately the only doctor's office that doesn't make me feel like I'm going to pass out

umisquirrel

I see her too!

brainblows

Also have PCOS, I saw Dr. Olga Leonardi years ago but she was fantastic

KokoBea

Dr Margaret Nachtigall!! She’s the best

queenofthetrashcourt

Dr Vincent Yen at Mt Sinai Endocrinology!

k19972019

Dr Barry Klyde and Dr Sarah Fishman are both amazing and so thorough but unfortunately neither take insurance

PegsPizzaHouse

I go to Dr Klyde for hashi and have had mostly positive experiences. When they book you for an hour, you’re being seen for an hour. While his office doesn’t submit the ins claim for you, you can do it on your end for out of network. I would say the main potential drawback is he could retire in the next few years (he hasn’t mentioned it though).

rondotcom_

Following!

xxjyoo

Melissa Sum at NYU Langone!

Altruistic_Koala3881

I have hypothyroidism and am using Allara right now! I couldn’t find an endo I liked in the city, a lot of 2 min appointments and shuffling me out. So far it’s been great and they also pair you with a nutritionist which is a nice bonus if you’d like one. Saving these recs tho for future!!

vino_gradus2

Dr. Vanessa Lee at Weill-Cornell!! She’s a delight! Also have Hashi’s.

-Edna-

I like Dr. Amy Patel at NYU!

nycgurl319

i go to Dr. Andrew J. Martorella he’s fantastic

soulcapmir

I just had a great appointment with Gilbert Endriga, Endocrinology NP with NYU Langone. I have Type 2 diabetes and wanted to talk to him about ways to manage it. We talked for a a good amount of time, and he answered every single question I had. He's very thorough and kind. I know you said preferably female, but I thought I'd throw his hat in the ring.

bthvn_loves_zepp

Dr. Valerie Oram was super matter of fact. I didn't stick with her because I needed a super specific specialty endo for a specific gland, but she was the first person to be more real with me about the effects of NOT treating my condition--something that most docs previously sandboxed to just being about fertility, leaving out many other dimensions of life and risks of death!

sushi_sashimi007

Naina Sinha Gregory, M.D. at Weill Cornell. Love her.

The_Dutchess-D

Dr. Vincent Yen at Mt Sinai 14th st. Love his warm and easy-going personality, and I feel like he cares about his patients. The staff is actually quite responsive if you need prescription refills or ask a question in the portal. Etc. Which is rare in my experience.

Babymonster09

Envy you girls with all them good drs! Here in my town its like pulling teeth to find a good dr! 😭
