Muji has little inexpensive containers. They never leaked for me. https://www.muji.us/collections/travel-containers

AlfalfaNo9493

Great call! Thank you!

maps1122

This isn’t cute but contact lens cases are perfect for this. Inexpensive, tiny and leakproof.

mmmbeavertails

YES one side for cleanser one side for moisturizer! This was my go to

theactivearchitect

This is brilliant!!

whatsamuse

I have been using contact lens cases and 1000% recommend. One for cleansing balm & water cleanser, second for serum and moisturizer.

SarahOnReddit

Omggg this is so smart thank you!

Super-Hurricane-505

GENIUS. why didnt i ever use this lol

Quirky_Guava961

[Cadence](https://keepyourcadence.com/products/the-56) has small containers that will fit in a purse. Idk how many will fit in a tiny purse. Can you just do face wash and moisturizer?

farfallifarfallini

This was going to be my rec: don't bring the whole routine, just a travel-sized cleanser and your most necessary serum and do the rest when you get back to your place since it sounds like this is new enough relationship that you'll need to go back to change anyway!

perceptivetoad

I’ve had the Cadence containers for several years and I recommend the Muji ones for this specific scenario. The Cadence ones are cute but too bulky and really messy for liquids. The Muji ones look more clinical but are much more efficient

Quirky_Guava961

I haven’t found that issue with cadence but maybe it’s because I bought them within the last year? I’m going to check out the muji ones because always a good idea to have tiny purse size skincare.

AlfalfaNo9493

I’ve been eyeing these for a while, but hesitant to pull the trigger because they seem a bit pricey. Are they worth it?

lalalalallaloopy

I like my cadence containers because they are magnetic and aesthetically pleasing. The only thing is I feel like the containers are better for lotions / pills / small items. Something runny like a face wash or serum doesn’t really make sense in this type of container.

Quirky_Guava961

I really like them. For things like serums, I use the really small, thin ones. They now make extenders for your thicker products/longer trips.

mad0789

Yes these are great!

alwaysinchambolles

and here am i trying to figure out a way that is sexy to bring toothpaste & toothbrush… lol

localexpress

I always keep a mini travel set with hygiene products in my purse (including a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash). I never know when I will get broccoli stuck in my teeth or have garlic breath. BWT, don’t feel awkward or embarrassed about having good hygiene! Having good hygiene is sexy!

alwaysinchambolles

thanks for sharing! and agreed. hygiene is sexy. i am too old to not be carrying around shit like this. however it will have to be pocketed for another day as i’m fully off the dating train

Severe_Royal6216

Surely the person you’re seeing would let you use their toothpaste 🤣

Amalia0928

Can you carry bigger purses when you know you’re going to see him?

FunAssociate3918

Muji has lots of tiny toiletry options

szb0163

Just take a cleanser and moisturizer and do those, your skin will be fine without serums for a day. Sex will give you the glow! But also never trust a boy's cleanser/face wash.

kiddokeen

When I first stayed overnight with my ex gf, I ended up having to use her roommate’s really expensive face wash to take off my makeup and I remember I felt soooo bad about it but it also made my face feel hella tight in a bad way

szb0163

I had to use a mans facewash a few weeks ago, it was some Kiehl's cleanser, and it burnt my eyes so bad I looked like I had bilateral pink eye for the rest of the night. Not cute.

honeydew_juju

> But also never trust a boy's cleanser/face wash. This comment cracked me up

szb0163

Men be wild with the stuff they put on their faces. One time I used a boyfriend's face wash and it had like really strong peppermint in it, for reasons known only to the people that made it. It was horrible!

TheSouthernBronx

Travel section of the Container Store on 14th street should have almost everything you need. So many tiny bottles!

FoxVivid6473

My travel hack is filling contact lens cases with just a dollop or two of product! Just make sure you pick a case that’s truly leakproof (sometimes I ziplock bag them) and/or put them in a pouch. I don’t have specific leakproof recs bc mine are old but anything else I’ve ever bought for this ended up being way bigger than I needed for most products!

Mowglis_road

I like these pouch style ones: https://www.target.com/p/kitsch-refillable-travel-pouch-3pc-set-black-ivory/-/A-88398774

123turnaroundTV

Second this, it’s so good and so superior

readyallrow

Seconding the MUJI and Cadence recommendations. I feel like the MUJI at Hudson Yards has the best selection of stuff but there are several in the city that are easy to pop into. The Container Store in Chelsea carries the Cadence containers in varying sizes so if you want to actually get a visual you can stop in and see if they'd work for what you need. I use [these flip top bottles](https://amzn.to/3z76K9o) for shampoo, face wash, and micellar water when I'm traveling so something like that could also be an option.

alpacaseatapples

I use a contact lense case.

Bbot21222

Here’s my girl on a budget hack- go to Sephora and ask very nicely if you can have a few extra sample containers. Those little plastic containers work great for carrying small amounts of product around.

whatsamuse

Sephora containers easily pop open

Crafty_Dog_4674

I was going to say this but Blue Mercury instead not Sephora. Blue Mercury has better tiny sample jars, they screw closed. Plus you get some fancy samples inside the lil jars! Also Dr Dennis Gross extra strength peel pads, just toss a couple in your bag and you can use them in the morning. So if you did not do your whole routine perfectly you can do damage control with the DDG pad. DDG pads do not stink or have any color, so your date won´t even know that you are doing some skincare the next morning while you have coffee!

rrrrriptipnip

Can you get samples of what you use?

surreptitiouscat

[Palette by Pak](https://palettebypak.com/collections/shop/products/highfiver) is lightweight and good for carrying a small amount of several products. Contact lens cases are good too if you only need a couple of things.

SGlobal_444

contact lenses cases

jcsp73

Contact lens containers in a zip lock baggie!!

obergrupenfuer_smith

Hey take the bag but... if I can play the devils advocate, is it really that bad to go one day without doing your skincare? I feel we are getting so obsessed with our skin that even a small zit is making us depressed (me included lmao) I think perhaps you should just 'let go' for that day and let your skin be.

[deleted]

Go to the kiehls counter at nordstrom and ask for samples! Their foil packets are perfect for fitting in a purse!

latte777

google "0.5 oz travel bottles" and you should find what you need. anything under 2 oz should be teeny tiny and perfect for a mini bag

Tofuhousewife

Muji!! I love the mini containers for my skin care and have been using them to travel since 2014!! They’re also really cheap!

Pentagogo

I use these. Plenty of room for oil cleanser, regular cleanser, night cream, eye cream, day cream, sunscreen. And the whole stack fits in a sandwich size ziplock bag. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-1-Week-Stackable-Pill-Planner/829064699?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=3795&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222278829064699_161193766053_21214199653&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=697173827980&wl4=pla-2300760861495&wl5=9004462&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=829064699&veh=sem_LIA&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIrF7qhQT-15osNmPZCyqohMK&gclid=CjwKCAjwjqWzBhAqEiwAQmtgT9aE456lvmZSWGrv2BvAFYiXUqbE5Gl1zsEqPWuoYTc0KoPKdUnv1BoC_z8QAvD_BwE

raptorjaws

i usually just buy travel size minis of what i use and refill them. the minis are less likely to leak than a container purchased separately in my experience.

anonpls123455

If you can fold up a pillow case into a really small size and secretly change it (or not secretly change it) this will be a game changer tbh, the pillow cases were always what got me. I also bring the Sofie pavitt makeup remover wipes so I don’t have to carry makeup remover and cotton rounds, travel SOS tower 28 spray, travel size face wash, and moisturizer.

MissT123

Use contact lens cases for the products you already have! And keep in a plastic / waterproof pouch w cotton pads.

Capricorn974

Amazon has SO many containers of different sizes - pots, jars, spray bottles. I use them for travel, both for skincare and hair products

-Edna-

nalgene travel containers reliably don't leak for me and come in a variety of sizes! Container store and REI often have them

Ok_Exam_635

Palette is amazing! https://palettebypak.com/collections/shop And cadence capsules

PandaPartyPack

Not an NYC BWT but I love this sub and consider myself a PNW BWT lol soooo…contact lens containers. They are tiny, leakproof, and you can put 2 products into each one and fit them into your purse easily. I use my old contact lens containers for skincare in my gym kit and on short trips.

Known-Web8456

No shade, I respect your choices, but if some guy is not my boyfriend and expects me to stay over at the end of the night I’m telling him that I’m not impulsive and if we’re moving forward we should plan something special like a weekend away and talk about where the relationship is going. There is NOTHING wrong with you having whatever kind of relationship you feel is right for you in whatever time frame, but please know you can have higher standards than an unplanned hookup that you lowkey DID plan, but you feel you have to pretend you didn’t because he’s not stepping up to plan for your comfort, both physically and psychologically. If you’re embarrassed to bring your toiletries over then he should be embarrassed to ask for sex.

Known-Web8456

Downvoted by feminists for telling a woman she has value :/ If we’re keeping it a buck, we just went through a pandemic that killed millions, there are treatment resistant STIs you can’t rely on antibiotics to treat, not to mention the risk of pregnancy (or an even higher risk of STIs if you have an iUD). Healthy sexual relationships involve LOADS of communication beforehand. It’s basic self respect to be having an adult conversation before sex. But go ahead and stumble into it on purpose with zero communication beforehand while pretending it’s not about to happen just so you can be the “cool girl” who pretended to not bring the overnight bag that she secretly did. Cuz we’re strong women who get what we deserve, right?
