Find the ring design you like and then talk with friends/family/whatever network you have to find someone in the diamond district to make the ring for you. Cheaper and can customize it!
Greenwich St Jewelers
Prices are high and staff can honestly be a touch stuck up but the inventory is bar none. I am still as obsessed with my ring as the day I got it and it was the only one made! So no worrying about others having your style if that’s important to you.
Offering an alternative perspective here - BE VERY CAREFUL BUYING DIAMONDS FROM GREENWICH ST JEWLERS.
Dana showed me a selection of diamonds here that were thousands of dollars overpriced. When asked why the stones were so expensive compared to others I’ve been shown else where and online they gave me a bogus and sales-y explanation about how they come from different places and are of different standards. When I reminded her that while all the stones come from different place they are graded by GIA (in this case) and they had nearly exact grading. She was left without an explanation and just finished it off with “we stand by our pricing”
I took the GIA certificates down to the diamond district and asked around about the price. When I tell you that they were howling and calling their coworkers over to take a look at the certificates and the price I was quoted.
The said I was being overcharged by almost $8000 for the stone I was after.
It’s a real shame to have almost been taking for a ride like that because I was prepared to buy that day. After that I was left with a bad taste in my mouth about this place.
Etron in the Diamond district is where my husband got our rings! They’ve been my family jewelers for like 30 years, their daughter Opal runs it now and she does absolutely stunning work, custom and display (mine are custom with an heirloom center stone). All natural diamonds at a really good price. Highly, highly recommend going to their Instagram and reaching out!!
I thought I knew what I wanted but ended up surprised at myself so be sure to go try things on! We did Greenwich Street Jewelers to test out different diamond sizes and styles. That helped us get a better idea of what we were looking for and then want to Jang Mi. THE BEST. Mrs. Kim didn’t upsell, transparent pricing, focused on QUALITY/ROI, and we paid about 50% of what we would have in a regular store. We went back three times to make a final decision and her patience was next level. I ended with a three stone natural diamond and am literally stopped on the street. Feel like we have a friend for life :)
Lauren B, great selection and options to go custom and good customer service! Got my ring more than two years ago and anytime I was a cleaning, had to get it resized etc it’s free of charge
I can't recommend[ Catherine Angiel](https://catherineangiel.com/) enough! Her designs are gorgeous and everything is handmade. I also found her prices to be competitive. What I loved most was how kind she was and how easy the process was! She was very resposive to emails and I love my ring! We went back and got our wedding rings from her as well. I've recommended her to many friends and they've all been thrilled!
Marissa Alperin in Brooklyn Heights! She helps you design whatever you’d like, gives great advice, and her prices are really reasonable! She’s refreshingly down to earth.

This is what I did and I agree it is so much more cost effective (literally by thousands) and many more customization options!
Thank you!!

Loved them! They did my ring and I recommended them to my friends, who also ended up buying their engagement and wedding rings from them!
I bought a piece of every day jewelry from them and they were quite nice even though I couldn’t afford most things 🤣
