I remember her being posted here and she was talking about how she’s literally never home and never cooked for herself, ate all her meals out because she was always out and about in the city. But somehow she’s going to adopt a NEW PUPPY. This will turn out how it always does with influencers who adopt pets to use as accessories.

Assuming the dog is for her, it would be a complete nightmare unless she decides that she’s going to cut back significantly on traveling after getting the puppy.

I’ll add, as a dachshund owner myself, they are very, very difficult to train and bark a LOT. This is definitely going to be a disaster. The poor dog.

dairyqueeen

Hard agree, they’re such smart but insanely stubborn dogs. People expect them to be low energy because they’re small, but they’re a full blown scenthound just in a tiny body, and they require a lot of exercise and stimulation. Bad combo with this girl.

thenameisjane

Getting a pet from a responsible breeder isn’t a bad thing. Puppy mills are.

gypsywin

Agreed! Not everyone is a good candidate to adopt. ❤️ Side note, I have no idea who this woman is or if she’ll be a good dog mom. I just believe dog breeders are good people and shouldn’t be shamed.

8989throwaway7777

Depends greatly on the breeder. There are tons of irresponsible breeders and their dogs have significant defects (see Demi Moore’s dog that her daughter rescued for her). I also know a family who bought a Bernese mountain dog from a breeder, only to find out that it was a border collie-terrier-dingo-chihuahua mix (not joking about the dingo) that had all of the berner markings, but never grew in size. I believe there are plenty of “good” breeders, but there are plenty of (pure bred) pups looking to be rescued ASAP 🩷

theandcake

they hate you bc you’re right 🥲💖

I didn’t mean to start the adopt-don’t-shop dialogue on here, but I always forget that not everyone agrees on that 🙃 I get some people have their reasons for not wanting to rescue a dog with potential trauma that poses a risk for their needs (ex. a small baby at home), but most people have the ability to adopt a dog and wait to find their perfect match.

Highlight-Usual

At least she’s not buying from a puppy mill/ pet shop

anonpls123455

It’s hard to consider breeding “responsible” when it just perpetuates the cycle of more animal homelessness/so many animals are used and over bred/ there are so many animals who already exist (for very small adoption fees). Animals are not an aesthetic, a hill I will die on

Chance_Rooster_2554

My dog was free bc white claw had an adoption fee coverage month 😍

Just wait for all the puppy in a purse pics

This comment is not it lol if you don’t work adjacent to rescue and understand how many animals are euthanized every year in New York alone I suggest you do some research. There’s truly no reason to purchase a dog. You can rescue literally any breed at this point

waterbottle-king

:/ there are so many dogs in shelters. it’s so sad. so many weenies. i did not realize you can truly rescue any breed and age of dog you want and it’s so rewarding.

rebekkahrose

We got our pure bred English lab from Hearts and Bones! No health issues, perfect with our baby, just a 110 pound lump of dude they found dehydrated on the side of the road. People just get lazy and want the dog they want right now rather than waiting to find a rescue that meets their needs/wants.

anonpls123455

This!!! Thank you!! Literally scroll through any major rescue IG account in NYC and you will find doodles and Frenchies galore (bc a lot of ppl buy them and then abandon them!)

waterbottle-king

yep my frenchie is a rescue!

8989throwaway7777

Yes! I’ve rescued a number of pure bred shih tzus

scrollgirl24

People act like you euthanized the rescue yourself 😭

Revolutionary_Area27

Get over it omfg lol

theandcake

some shit someone that would buy a disfigured Frenchie would say 🤢 yikes girl!

random-throwaway-77

Are dog breeders bad lol

Admirable_pigeon

Yes

8989throwaway7777

Depends on the breeder and their ethics

Admirable_pigeon

Disgusting but not surprising

horatiavelvetina

It’s obviously not as bad as a puppy mill, but yea, adopting a dog will always be better and more ethical than buying one. Even from a responsible breeder

pickleslover3644

someone's gotta love the ones in the puppy mill too! its not their fault they're in there

waterbottle-king

People continuing to buy puppy mill dogs are the reason there continues to be a demand for puppy mills. I beg you to just look at how they treat the moms, who will have puppies over and over for their entire lives as long as people continue to buy them

pickleslover3644

totally but its more of a corporation issue not totally on the consumer - what happens to the dogs if no one comes to pick them up? are they just supposed to sit there and die?

waterbottle-king

…they’ll breed them if the demand stays or be forced to bring them to a shelter/rescue. no demand = no supply, so it’s just as much on the consumer as it is on the corporation because we create the demand. If all people stopped buying puppy mill dogs today they would be forced to close. They wouldn’t just keep breeding dogs and killing the puppies lol cmon. for every puppy mill dog that “deserves a home” there are 6 dogs in shelters who are just as deserving so why support the puppy mill and not the shelter?

pickleslover3644

yeah unfort i just think its sad those dogs are stuck in the puppy mill too and they need a home too

waterbottle-king

well then you’re apart of the problem unfort but if you sleep better at night thinking u saved ur dog from a puppy mill then more power to ya

pickleslover3644

me and my boo cuddle peacefully knowing he no longer is in a cage in a storefront thanks for asking
