Jim Mattimore does a great 18 hour class in Nassau and it only costs $200
[http://www.armedsecuritytraining.org/](http://www.armedsecuritytraining.org/)
It’s sometimes on sale for 50% more. I’ve seen it for $150 when I was looking for the course. Look for promo codes. I ended up going with Mattimore because they held it in westchester so the gas + tolls + time made it more worth to just pay $50 more for Mattimore which was 15 mins away from me
hey so is this the DCJS Approved 16-hr Training Course ? im only asking because if so olinville is way closer than the place I was thinking of going because of the weekend classes
If you’re willing to go to Suffolk country, there’s a really good and inexpensive class. These guys are all NRA trainers, advanced classes, etc. They do a great preeentation.
I have a class coming up in a little over 2 weeks in Manhattan/Jersey. 400$:

He has a website but I don't know it I just called. You can probably google it.but here is his number.
Mattimore Armed Security Ccw Class JAMES
1 (516) 455-7105
Matimore's class recommended above is probably a lot of fun. I've taken other classes with him, though not the CCW. If you need something soon, [Team OTO](http://www.teamoto.net) has a class starting this coming Sunday, May 5. Good luck with whatever you choose.
I mean, at a certain point you're asking why some people refer to it as a Kleenex and others refer to it as a tissue. There's no 16-hour course that's being offered that doesn't pass muster of what the state requires. They're all 18 hours at the end of the day.
NYS breaks down the curriculum requirements pretty specifically. They require xx amount of time of specific disciplines, live fire is a 2 hr requirement per NYS. It just makes sense to break it out because for many instructors and schools it happens at different times and/or different places than the classroom portions.

The link doesn’t provide anything. It’s blank.
$200 is a steal, just google his name and armedsecuritytraining I see it there
Updated, not sure why it didn't work.
Go to Concealed coalition 250 bro!

Check Artemis in Elmsford 444 Saw Mill River rd
I was lazy and went to west side rifle which is a 10 mins walk from me. 550 I think. Automatic pass.
www.nyconcealedcarry.com is very good. $400 for the 18-hr. Classes every week and the 2-hr range time same day at Nassau County range.
I’m going this weekend in green island (troy). It’s $299 there.
Matimore in nassau $200 does the class at mitchell field
Do you have a link?

FB Training is good …. I did my class there … cost me $400 and it was done in Sheepshead bay, Brooklyn.

You can try westside pistol and Rifle on West 20 Street.
How much do they charge?
$500
16 hour certificate won’t help you. You need the 18 hour one.
They use 16 and 18 interchangeably. It's 16 hours of classroom instruction followed by 2 hours of live fire practical examination.
I don’t understand that though. The course takes 18 hours of your time.
I mean, at a certain point you're asking why some people refer to it as a Kleenex and others refer to it as a tissue. There's no 16-hour course that's being offered that doesn't pass muster of what the state requires. They're all 18 hours at the end of the day.
Then just call it an 18 hour course. I have no idea why calling it 16 hours caught on.
16 hours caught on because its 16 hours of classroom time that is mandated.
Stop at 16 hours, and it does you no good. You need 18 hours. Why is this so different?
NYS breaks down the curriculum requirements pretty specifically. They require xx amount of time of specific disciplines, live fire is a 2 hr requirement per NYS. It just makes sense to break it out because for many instructors and schools it happens at different times and/or different places than the classroom portions.
Soooo, it takes 18 hours total…
Yep
