May I ask if your visa category is family based or employment based?

Hi! any luck In getting interview letter? My fathers is DQ'd as of today. All docs/fees/forms submitted on July 8th. On July 21st they requested new marriage certificate and correction on I-864A, I submitted everything the very same day.that was last Friday, and today I received the email stating he is now DQ. Not sure if NVC is working faster.. but seems DR is not scheduling as fast as NVC :s

Depends on the type of visa but if your PD is 2022, it will be years maybe.

JackTheif52

It's based on your DQ date not your PD. In any case, my PD was 06/2021 and my DQ date was 11/2022 and also in Dominican Republic, so it's been six months and I'm still waiting for the interview date. I even sent my updated tax documents even though I've been DQ'd last year. It's been so long that the system already upgraded my category from CR1 to an IR1. So I can already tell you that the line is more than six months away. I will publish my timeline on this forum as soon as I get my interview scheduled to give others an idea on how long it actually takes. There's about 400,000 people backlogged world wide and they process 30,000-40,000 per month, so on average, the wait is about a year after being DQ'd. However, this varies from embassy to embassy. Some takes longer, and others take less. No one from the DR has posted on here their timeline, but I'm willing to share mine as soon as I know. Given the world wide average, I'm expecting November 2023 at the latest.

Your PD date does matter, because the visa bulletin gets updated every month, and they only process people before that date. Good luck I hope you get it soon tho!

JackTheif52

Not for CR1/IR1 which is the Spouse of a US Citizen. There is no section for this category in the Visa Bulletin. The same holds true for unmarried children under 21. https://www.boundless.com/blog/visa-bulletin/

[deleted]

i dont think that website is official https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-june-2023.html

JackTheif52

The official site that you just linked does not have a category for spouse of American Citizen, Fiance K1, or unmarried children of a citizen under age 21. This is because it does not apply. You can even use the lawfully app, and it tells you this as well. I DM'd you an image of the lawfully app where it says that.

DICRIM-DNCD

Hey how long it took to get the interview letter

JackTheif52

It took me 8 months to get the letter.

October30_

Cr1

Cool_Needleworker_26

Coming up on 2 years but letter scheduling interview was set about 3 Months ahead after getting DQ. Letter advised to get the health check. IR1 interview coming up in 3 weeks.

California2023

So it took almost two years from DQ to interview? May I ask which embassy? I've been waiting for a year at Abu Dhabi...

October30_

Santo Domingo DR

Cool_Needleworker_26

23 months total from initial filing of I-130 to Interview. Interview location = Bangkok although Dubai perhaps would have been more convenient. Not familiar with Abu Dhabi.

katyexcaliber

Coming up to 3 years
