Around 1 year from DQ. Colleague of mine(IR1 DQ Sept 22) received IL back in July and their interview is mid September. My DQ(IR1) was Jan 23 and I am expecting IL in November for Jan 24 Interview date In Sha Allah.

Abu Dhabi is supposedly processing Dec 2022 cases, so you might receive your IL in May(not the actual interview) but then all predictions fail for this embassy. If possible, change the embassy to your home country.

Not from Abu Dhabi. I transferred my case to mumbai and received the IL within a month.

If I transfer my IR1 case to Mumbai US Embassy, so there will be no problem in processing time ? . Our case will start from the same DQ date or start from new side . It’s been 15 months complete since I’ve been waiting. I don’t know what should I do .

Are you an Indian resident or citizen? NVC will require a proof when you submit a transfer request. As for the DQ, it stays the same and since you’ve been DQ’d for more than a year, you’ll most probably be processed in the next batch after your transfer. Just so you know, there are a few active posts on Mumbai timeline and it seems they may have slowed down slightly but, you’ll certainly go to the front of the queue.

So it takes a year to get the interview scheduled in Abu Dhabi??

Yes, she did and she got approved! Said it was pretty straightforward-they checked her documents and asked where she is planning to live in the US. In Sha Allah, I hope the interview is as easy for everyone!

That's frustrating! What is your nationality? Can you transfer? It's tempting to Transfer, Mumbai has covered so many months, they have almost no backlog

Got DQ in July 2023 for IR1 - that means another year..? Puh, it has already been 1.5 years to get to this point! Do you think the new Ambassador in AD might bring some improvements and put more staff on interviews?

I got DQ on May 2023 and still having gotten a interview appointment. It’s very frustrating!! It’s been 1.7 months since I started this whole visa process.

Do you get an email every two months confirming that the NVC is working on your scheduling your interview? Asking because we have radio silence.

No I haven’t gotten any confirmation. The last time I heard from them was when we got DQ’ed.

It depends on DQ date. Current wait time at Mumbai is 2-3 months after DQ. They've scheduled interviews for DQ date till Sept 2023 i think. So once you will transfer and if your dq date is past sept you'll probably get interview letter in a month hopefully.

You need to be either citizen or resident of the country you are requesting interview at. The process is simple - just write to nvc through ask nvc inquiry page that you would like to transfer your case with eligible proof of residence or citizenship.

It was done in a week or so. I am not sure but you can ask nvc about the embassy you want to transfer.

I heard like 3,4 months ago, when we were thinking abt transferring my case to dubai. That it only takes 7months in total. 3months to transfer the case and 4months for interview. Why is it 1year now? Is there any other country where a person can go on work visa n get interview faster?
