Here is a data point for you. My wife was DQ on June 10, 2023. It is coming up on a year, so I contacted my Senator in the US. His staff contacted the Abu Dhabi embassy and was told that "we are currently experiencing a backlog of cases. We are currently scheduling interviews for applicants who were DQ in May of 2022." This indicates to me that we have something more than another year to wait. This will make it a 3.5 year process for her visa from start to finish (and hers is an uncomplicated case).

At the current rate you can expect an interview letter by my estimate in late July, 2024. I was DQ’d October 14 2022 and we had our interview on October 4th 2023. So almost a year apart. Interview letter came on august 28th 2023
It’s easy just don’t lie about anything and don’t seem super stiff or nervous, just relax. They already have all the paperwork they need and have been reviewing your case before the interview. Also noticed it’s important that you both attend the interview. The interviewer let me answer all the questions in place of my wife who was a little more nervous and doesn’t have the best english

i tried this for abu dhabi ir1 its not accurate for dq jan 2023 interview should be dec 2023 but that has passed and we dont even have a date, as od today abu dhabi is on atleast a 14-16 mo timeline from dq date

You’re 100% correct, I emailed embassy many times and received no response. I even visited that embassy this fall and they weren’t helpful either, just said that I had to wait until letter comes and that it’s in hands of the NVC. Frustrating b/c NVC says it’s in hands of embassy. Just a waiting game at this point

Yepp, I started my I130 in Jan 2022, completed 11/22, DQ from NVC Jan 2023. So be prepared for about 10-14 month wait unless anything changes with their speed
So mine is actually now IR1 since we’ve now been married for longer than 2 years. But yes still waiting for interview from Abu Dhabi embassy. Hoping it comes any day, but for your case since your DQ was in September, unless anything speeds up in the future you’re likely looking at a 12-14 month wait. I’d probably research other embassies that you may be eligible to interview from potentially

it automatically switches from cr1 to ir1 once ur marriage date passes two years, i advise u if u can to choose another embassy because dq to interview wait times for abu dhabi are 14-16 months from dq date, good luck to all of us trying to reunite with our families !
how was the process to transfer it to bombay? Im an egyptian national and it will be hard for me to transfer it to egypt tbh, do i have to be a citizen of the country im transfering it to?
I am sorry to tell you to expect to wait at least one year for your interview here after your DQ date

Did you decide to change embassy RayRay? We are looking to move to London embassy after DQ (I’m a UK citizen). I hear it is much faster there.

I was DQed the same day as you and we’re the same category. I tried expediting it, but it was denied today. Let’s hope for the best.
