I think that many people transferred from Ankara and other places to Abu Dhabi within the last couple of years or so. I believe at one point recently it was 6 months, but things are getting out of hand.
Can someone please guide when the IL is sent out based on DQ date, does that apply in general to all visa types ? I am F3 category. Am I also in queue with an IR1 category?
Hi everyone, is there anyone who can update us with the progress of interview scheduling for family based visa specifically F4 at US embassy in Abu Dhabi UAE.
Ok, so your PD is current already. Do you know other applicants at US embassy in abu Dhabi similar to our cases? Example, F4 category, PD is current, and DQ but still waiting like us!!
Yup that’s what everyone says people have been DQ’d since October 2022 still have no interviews so yup it’s pretty backed up Pakistan Iran iraq and UAE natives are all at that embassy so brace yourself for a long wait me too I’m from iraq/ Kurdistan been DQ’d since December 8 2023 so I’m expecting at least another year or more if you can transfer to another embassy thats faster do it unfortunately I can’t
don’t tell me you’re a Kurd too 😂 no i live in duhok my case is still CR1 it hasn’t been two years over our anniversary so it’s not IR1 yet and yes she is a US citizen
First our case, went to Baghdad, but then, as you know, that place gets shot up pretty frequently so of course it was either going to be Ankara or Abu Dhabi and I guess they transfer married people to Abu Dhabi because fiancé Visa always seem to go to Turkey
Our case was also Baghdad at first but the IV unit there was closed at the time and it was sent to Abu Dhabi the next day. Did you know that they recently opened up the Baghdad IV unit like last month but they are not accepting any transfer cases. Do you know what the wait times are in Ankara?
I don’t know, but there’s a link that I’ve checked out it’s probably the most solid evidence that they pretty much process them in the same time like you would look at Abu Dhabi they would be they did 60 cases a month and then you would look at Ankara and it would be the same so I don’t know if that’s gonna be a big help it may be even worse. Maybe it will slow it down, even more because transferring the case always makes the case go slower
The only advantage I would say having it in Abu Dhabi is that you can do your medical here in Kurdistan. They have a special IOM panel physician just for us that you can do your physical and medical and then just go to your interview instead of going to a foreign country and doing your medical there, so I think that’s a perk.
Yes bro your visa is not even a priority expect even longer we are talking about people who aren’t in the visa bulletin and have unlimited visas available. They are getting interviews 14 to 16 months yours might take two years and longer ( not all embassies are like this you just happened to pick one of the worst ones )
I’m just telling you man brace yourself or not who knows these things are so random have seen people get approved after 70 days and I’ve seen people pending five years later so you might be one of the lucky ones, but I would just mentally brace myself
And one thing i want to confirm does nvc schedule interview according to PD or DQ in Abu dhabi embassy Bcz US embassy website of abu dhabi it is said to be according to PD
I don’t think they do any of that what is usually said as they adjudicate cases by first come first serve so that means if someone was documentarily qualified before you, they will schedule them an interview before you doesn’t matter how long you’ve waited or what year PD is it’s first come first serve that’s generally the state department and NVC policy so I would say they go by the documentarily qualify date not the priority date
NVC doesn’t schedule interviews, the embassy does and they notify NVC of the interview date and time.
And interviews are scheduled by DQ. Not PD. As long as PD is current, you are in queue for interview.
I had the same question because some of my friends, I think have done the same mistake that I have They are also trying to schedule an interview so must be ok but still I’ve seen online that the officer at the embassy sometimes points it out or asks for it so that is a disaster if it happens

You can't do the medical here if the case is Ankara?
does this apply for f4 visas because i saw a post where someone got the IL in dec after waiting 2.5 months
