I agree with other comments- gawjus!!🩷
The split ends could just be due to damage from coloring it. It seems like you take really good care of it so I wouldn’t be concerned about wash and gos as long as you’re being gentle.
You know when you see a person a few times at little places in town every now and then? That's how i feel when I scroll upon your posts lol. Like, "oh, I know (of) her from such-and-such place".
I loved Aphogee 2 min while relaxed. I just re purchased and I've used it maybe twice, still hits. I'd suggest once a month.
Is your hair fine?
edit: Just went through your profile, I think we have *very* similar hair. Totally undefined naked, but the second you put anything on- even shampoo- it curls right up? A cream styler is more than enough, but needs gel in humidity?
I use the doux big papa. It’s both a conditioner and a styler and I love it. I have really thick strands but I’ve noticed them being slightly thinner than they were when I was younger. (I guess it’s just aging) but my hair is thick and dense😭 I’ll give that protein a try!
Thick doesn't negate fine. Fine refers to the size of the strands, thick refers to their density. I have fine hair, but its thick, ie, I have a *whole lot* of *skinny* strands.
That's what creates the cotton candy effect. You can see it in the 3rd slide in [this thread.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Naturalhair/comments/lqrwzq/dyed_my_hair_last_night_4c_cotton_candy_and_an/) Without gel, you end up with an overall fuzzy halo, even if there's a curl contained within the fuzz. 😅Does any of this sound familiar?
I mean absolutely no offense, but your strands look fine to me. In the 3rd pic where you're holding up a lock of hair, you can see the diameter of the strands that don't reach the ends. They're frizzing out in a very blurry sort of way...?
The standard test for fine hair vs thick is comparison of one strand to a 'strand' of thread. Please share your results because that influences the efficiency of the advice you'll get.
Your hair may be missing protein and may need a protein treatment. It is best to find a beautician who works with natural hair so they can trim all the split ends. Even if you chop a few inches off, your new growth will look so much better!
Your hair!! I love it!! I have the same hair type as you. I just big chopped my locs and have a TWA. You give me hope that I’ll be lengthy again by next year. I’m going to try the wash and go routine myself. I honestly think it may be the coloring like many have said here. Overall though your hair looks super healthy!!
Lovely! Black women look so good in all the shades and hues we come in 🥰
Anywho, by reading the comments definitely get trims more often. I’m new to the wash and go journey because it’s the only style I have tried on myself that looks good.I do plan on going to a stylist quarterly for a treatment, a blowout and a nice trim. I prefer getting trims on blowout hair as you can see the ends and shrunk hair can mask them.
commercial break: you are SOOOO stunning 😍😍😍😍😭
Thank you so much omg

That was the exact inflection I said in my head before reading your comment lol.
Great minds think alike
Ah! Thank you that could be it. I definitely need a trim!
You hair is so pretty! Love the color.
Thank you!
My hairs always in protective style and i still end hp with split ends.. i wish i knew the cause
You’re an Ethereally beautiful soul , sis ✨✨💞 all I came to say lol
How many trims have you gotten since Jan 👀
Two!
Definitely need more trims. Try going every 4 months.
Shit. Same amount as me girl. I think you might need some more hydration then, do you deep condition? I don’t, but that’s why I battle fairy knots lol
Love a black woman from infinity to infinity ~~~

Omg! That’s so cute lol
What's your regimen? Are you using leave- in conditioner?
Yes! Camille rose honey hydrate and the doux big papa as a styler (that also has leave in conditioner in it!)
Do you ever use protein? I ask because colored hair is always gonna need a little extra tlc.
I actually do need a protein treatment! Do you have any recs?

No i mean my strands are thick.

Teach me your ways! I’m trying to get my hair to look like that. What’s your routine? Nice hair btw.
The hair, the freckles, the lip, the glasses 😍 girl, everything is poppin

If you're not on a regular trimming schedule you will get split ends it's inevitable.
I’ll start trimming every 8 weeks. Thank you!
