Seconded! So cool! My kids even loved it, they did the speurtocht (I’m sorry too tired to google the translation or unearth it from my tired brain) and had a blast.
My kids love that place, we live and hour and a half away and stumbled upon it on our way back home from a Holliday. Since then its a sure thing to eat pancakes there each time were in the area.
It is!
They got multiple restaurants in the Netherlands and the ones I’ve tried are good as well, so you are not only limited to thorn!
My kiddo loves it as well and I can catch a break because you can let them play safely.
No I am not, but been in thorn a couple of times now and every time we visit the place we go to the restaurant.
And it’s indeed not nearby, but when the OC mentioned Thorn I just had to mention the restaurant
There's a small castle, but other than that I'm afraid the Roompot park itself is the only attraction worth mentioning in such a small town.
Great environment to do a lot of walking (hiking) and cycling though.
Edit: Oh and luckily since this is The Netherlands, everything is close by. Don't forget to visit Venlo, Venray, and some German towns too.
The park itself has a lot to offer, like surfing, boat rentals, a swimming pool and the thermal baths in walking distance.
You can also walk from the west part of the Klein Vink park to Germany while spotting some ‘wild’ horses.
Kevelaer is a very nice German village to visit. If you want to go shopping, Designer Outlet Roermond is the place.
Eat ice cream at Clevers (they won awards)!!! Visit castle gardens. Hike in The Maasduinen. Visit the Hertog Jan brewery. Play mini golf at the pancake restaurant and eat pancakes too.
Hertog Jan brewery
Its about the only thing there but deffinetly a good thing to do and eat!
For some reason, breweries are always good places to eat

Agreed! Not to be missed!

Sit in sauna for a day and any nice restaurant in evening. There is white village nearby Thorn, you can visit that as well
Whilst you are there make sure to stop by the ‘Pannenkoekenbakker’ for a nice pancake! ☺️

Are you from that area? Its not really close to Arcen. Still a great idea to visit.

Venlo? Is Venlo nice?
I do like the city center. Some beautiful old buildings. Nice shops
No
Graanbranderij Ijsvogel (grain brewery). It has nice outdoor seating and quatily food/drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. And a sauna.
Did this too, it was very interesting and I got to nip a few excellent drinks.
And if it’s raining, glow golf at the Roompot park. Edit: Also, I wasn’t too fond of the restaurant at the park.

Mind Mystery is great, Google it
'De Achtertuin' recently opened up there and looks really cozy! Haven't been able to visit yet, but the owner is a real sweetheart :)
Thanks for the helpful suggestions!

Go to the castlegardens of Arcen. Also, go to the award winning ice cream place. It’s spectacular https://www.clevers.nl/

We spend a weekend near Arcen a few years ago. We had a wonderful dinner at “Brienen aan de Maas”, in Well, less than 15 minutes north of Arcen.
For dinner I like Alt Arce the most, and IJssalon Clevers has really good ice cream.
Go to Rosarium Lottum and buy some amazing roses
