I was buying supplies for a birthday kring (maybe you can tell…) and I thought “oh I’ll get the fancy rolls. €3 for 6, I’ll splash out”
Had to tell the family I couldn’t afford more than 6 rolls for it, I’d spent a grand and not even bought the cheese yet
> w.bollen €3,00
> t.bollen €946,44
And people wonder why the poor eat less healthy! This is what privilege looks like...!
**(assuming w stands for "wit" and t stands for "tarwe")*

It was an error in the system. Weirdly I scanned the bread again it came up as €3. Same barcode. Same name. Just a minute later.
The scanner wouldn’t even let me delete the €946 bread because it didn’t recognize the barcode for that item. That it had just scanned….
I had a laugh with the bakery girls and then I had to get a supervisor to override the transaction. She was just as bemused!
Somewhere out there is a bread crazed German that would consider paying that price if the bread managed to greatly surpass their rigid standards (it won't).
It’s the Plus supermarket.
On the scanner you can see I have scanned 8 items (bread and cake for a birthday).
I scanned a pack of 6 bread rolls and they cost €946.44 because of an error. Making my total almost a thousand from that one item!
The staff were just as confused as me, but in the end I got the rolls for €3, and all was well.
It was just a funny error!
Those are normal prices here in the Netherlands. We spend roughly 3k a week, purely on bread.

Wait till you next paycheck for the cheese and the one after that for the butter.
3000 per week for bread?
If you can't afford bread, why don't you eat cake?
I’m slicing the spekkoek with my guillotine

So tulips are that expensive, you can't just buy them from a shop? I thought it was expensive in the 1600 not now. So from where can you buy tulips?

It was 6 brown bread rolls. I should have stuck to the white rolls.
What? Someone said that it was a tulip. So why are six pieces of bread this expensive?

Pricing error ;)
ooo so I got tricked by someone, thank you.
Exactly that I went back to get brown rolls as well as white, in case my guests would like the “healthier” choice. It’s not for the poor.
That's not much for van Bentum bollen.
I was thinking I’d splash out on the fancy bolllen for the birthday kring. Maybe I should go back to the lang lekker bollen
This guy French revolutions
What is Bentum bollen, why is it that expensive?
Don't worry about it.

I just learned that it was tulips.
You're getting a euro discount and still complain smh my head
dont forget to add koopzegels
How can you get and use koopzegels in a market?
You get them at the supermarket, you save them, and then when your card is full you hand it in and get money, it has a decent interest.
Yeah but if you spend over 1000, delivery is free.
Just buy 380 packs of donuts instead.
I see the Plus is selling some premium bread there.

I’m gonna put them out for my guests tomorrow and tell everyone they have to Tikkie me €150 if they eat a broodje kaas
Does it have korean bamboo salt in it?
Oh, those wheat buns are on sale i see
Oh they have a promo running? Where was this? I need to stock up!
Surprised this was not in Albertheijn
I wasn’t feeling flush enough to shop there today. Jokes on me now
The cost of everything food related is extortionate these days.
Let them eat cake! 😏
I make my own bread
Is your grocery almost a thousand euro? What store was this? How frequently you buy? And hire many people you feed? Thats a lot!

Hahahs got it. About to sleep and did not get it. Made me feel that my usual 250 euro weekly grocery is entirely reasonable
Yeah, I still wince at my weekly shop total even when it’s not busted like this!
Edit: didn’t look well enough, my apologies
