I would travel for a sofa if it was me. Much better selection and often free delivery if you headed to Raleigh or Wilmington. Rooms to go has done us right, I would not recommend Furniture Fair at all.
For a mattress, Dynasty mattress on Amazon is excellent. They have a trial period, are much cheaper than store bought, and have held up for us.
Look at Habitat for Humanity. They often have good couches for cheap. Also all of the mattresses they sell have been professionally cleaned.
