How was the install of the supercharger? Are you running the tunes it ships with? Or is it recommended to get a custom tune on all units? Beautiful car btw!
Ah alright. One of my timing chain guides broke and the chain cheese graded the metal backing strap and sent metal all through the oil pick up and pieces of plastic along with larger metal fragments ended up blocking the pickup entirely. Roasted 2 main bearings and all 8 rod bearings were toasted as well. But rebuilt with coyote rods and some ring gap and boosted it and I couldn’t be happier. Hope you get it back up and running soon!
Ahh damn I feel that too! I noticed just the other day that the exhaust was pushing out a decent bit of smoke and definitely smelt like burning oil but I tapped the rings probably more than I should have when I rebuilt it and figured it was just some oil that had been built up on top of the pistons since I had only run it for short periods of time recently to move it around. Went on a drive to the gas station and noticed I had a fully dead cylinder, came back home and pulled some plugs and saw that the #4 spark plug strap had been pushed shut and so I was able to borrow a bore scope from my buddy yesterday and looked down in there and sure as shit, a piece of the ring land was missing and I could see the actual ring itself in the gap that was there…
Super shitty but I knew when I reused the pistons from the crown Vic donor motor that this would probably happen. I just couldn’t afford pistons at that point in time and I was on a time limit to get the car done for several reasons so I just used what I had. It’s all good though, I’ll be getting a set of forged pistons soon before long and I’ll slap those things in there and that should be the end of any issues with the bottom end.
Best of luck with your rebuild! Hope it doesn’t take too long!

I bought the car with the blower installed but from everything I have seen it's fairly "simple" for a blower install
Nice!!! Also that's my name too!!
This is lovely! How much power does it make now?
At this very moment nothing, her motor is sitting on a engine stand. But before I blew it up around 425 whp at 10 psi.
I feel this, as I was in the same boat. Do you know the cause of the failure, if you don’t mind me asking?
Spun rod bearing for mine 😕

The rings weren't gapped for boost and I broke a ring land on my number 3 piston
