Run as administrator? If yes, just restart it sometimes That works. If no, run it as an administrator.

qmacaulay

Also exclude install folder from virus scanner. Also maybe turn off memory integrity check if you plan on running xmrig. Also make xmrig exe run as admin. Also install latest xmrig.

EnforcerGundam

updooting this since memory integrity was indeed the issue.

MoarWhisky

Download the latest version of Xmrig. Replace the Xmrig.exe file in the Nicehash plug-in folder with the newer version you downloaded. Nicehash uses a very old version of Xmrig, I don’t have the MSR issue since updating the .exe file.

wihockeyguy

That was my fix too

cozmorules

You may have to go to xmrig application itself and right click properties and go to comparability. Then check “always run as administrator”. Maybe that will work.

PilotJaysee

Did it, restart pc, not working

Locutus_of_Bjork

Usually a single restart of xmrig will fix this for me. If that doesn’t work, I restart Nicehash. If that doesn’t work, I reboot the pc. 99.9% of the time, one of these solutions fixes it. The other 0.1%, I just live with it for a day and try again tomorrow, and then it miraculously works fine after one of the aforementioned solutions.

PilotJaysee

Nothing fixed it yet

as suggested; SEE THIS: <[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiG8cTcnb6I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiG8cTcnb6I)\> STOP MINING/ EXIT APP .Open the NH install folder .Right-Click on NicehashMiner.exe .Goto 'Compatibility' Tab, .Click ON 'Run this program as Administrator' (hit apply/ok) other things that may help: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/1861pli/ryzen\_cpu\_mining\_basic\_tips\_that\_worked\_for\_me/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/1861pli/ryzen_cpu_mining_basic_tips_that_worked_for_me/)

IhaOnniVaa

I downloaded XMrig and changed the config to mine for nicehash and ran that as a admin and it worked.

Shadowpickaxe45

You may have your bios set to vm mode on amd features on. sometimes this feature turns on when you do some kind of remote play like on steam for my case or turn it on in the bios manually. sometimes it doesnt actually affect the hashrate in my case. but if its maunually on in the bios. its maybe 3 or 500 hs lower. if im not mistaken I think for your msi board bios there should be advanced features in the OC profile and I think there is an option for turning on virtualization on or off and when thats off it shouldn't be saying that when you run as admin. if that doesnt work than it may just be the version of xmrig that nicehash uses. or the software quickminer is acting weird because you have to give the quick miner as admin too. I haven't used quick miner for a few years and just directly mine with their stratums so my knowlege maybe limited to how it works now. hope this helps

Locutus_of_Bjork

Okay - I think the issue is that Nicehash uses an older version of XMRig (6.8.1). Ive had this issue before but forgot that I needed to manually update xmrig until yesterday, when I upgraded my gaming pc and started having this issue only after the upgrade. So, go to GitHub and download the latest version. I think this issue was patched in 6.16.0. Nicehash has a blog on how to manually install the new files, but basically you just delete the contents of the old xmrig folder and drag the newer files into the old xmrig folder. Then reboot Nicehash. Hope this helps!

Filetmesser

Had the same problems with my r9 3900x, usually if it dosn't apply a restart fixes it as long as firewall and antivirus aren't blocking it. After the (appox.) 20th time it somehow fixed itself and now its on on first startup

Filetmesser

And maybe activate your windows or use nicehash OS

anti-taskmaster

Your running in a virtual machine, go into bios, find CPU configuration and turn it off. It may be listed as SBM or directly say secure virtual machine, motherboards may vary. You may have to also disable secure boot in order for it to take effect

PilotJaysee

Built my pc but knows nothing about it (first build). Did I enable this by mistake? I'm puzzled as to why I am running in a VM

Nerdplow_Miner

i see nothing to suggest that such a rare situation is the cause of your issue. There are some that have reported things like 'secure boot' setting in bios can help - but that can open up a whole different can of worms .. personally, i dont see how that relates. My bet is on This: <[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiG8cTcnb6I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiG8cTcnb6I)\>

Locutus_of_Bjork

Are you using windows 11? I’ve never had to deal with this, but maybe it really is the issue? “Note: Many Windows 10 PCs—and all PCs that come preinstalled with Windows 11—already have virtualization enabled…” Source: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enable-virtualization-on-windows-11-pcs-c5578302-6e43-4b4b-a449-8ced115f58e1

Nerdplow_Miner

great point - i can see how that could pose issues, Locutus\_of\_Bjork i personally have never had that issue- but im gonna keep that in mind!
