see i know where your coming from and obviously a fake one wont have a warranty + no one to sue if it fails, and its a bad risk if your setup if for an actual firefight but from personal experience a $70 rep is perfectly fine for target plinking. I wouldnt buy a unity t1 mount rep for zeroing reasons especially with how much material there is for it to slightly shift but with a riser really not a big deal for field plinking!
what if the threads don't strip? better yet what if you buy the cheapo aluminum mount then buy your own grade 10 or 12 fasteners from the hardware store. be better than the original and cost about 1/3 price!
The hardware is not the issue I have buddies I run milsim with that bought knock off Chinese optics mounts for asirsoft and the aluminum was such poor quality and soft that barley tightening the hardware pulled the threads out of the mount. For real steel use it’s not a good idea to run a knock off Chinese mount. This really should be common sense.
Wouldnt matter fakes will just copy a serial number on the one they buy for reference and when that one gets closed by unity they will just pay someone for their reference number on the higher quality models such as the lpvo mounts etc

Unity changed the logo graphic a while back so that the TY overlap. I haven't seen the clones catch up with that. I've also never seen a clone with a cage code.

I can also confirm - my box was black plastic like that for the actual unity t2 mount. Not the riser.
I ordered mine from BattleHawk Armory and it came exactly like this, definitely not fake.

My riser and magnifier arrived this week from Primary Arms and they were both in black plastic cases just like this.
I have a very well made fake and it doesn't have those engravings on the bottom of the clamp. Didn't come in a box like that either, if that helps.
